Customer Reviews
The pros are the sites are spread out and the campsites have giant sheltered picnic buildings and plenty of sun. The cons are very few trees and not secluded at all. It's a newer campground and it needs its own restroom/shower building. Only has pit toilets.
It's a beautiful place. It's our first camping trip as a family. I would say the only downfall of this campground is there isn't much tree coverage. The other sites have plenty of coverage. The swim area is kinda weird but all in all we had a fun time here. And it's dog friendly! But just remember one of the rules is not to cross other people's campsites. We had an incident where someone walked their dog across our site and our dog wiggled out of his collar and went running after the dog. Also kids tend to cross which isn't safe especially if your dog tends to nip at stuff or people theyre unsure of.
Nice open campground with a beautiful view of the plains and sunrise. Nice close trails, plenty of space around campsite #53 for playing yard games. Easy bike ride to the showers and swim area. Great history- see the Kock cabin & Monument to hear the story of the start of the Dakota Massacre. We also biked out the Curry dam and fished.
Love this place! We come every June and September for a week at a time and the place is spotless clean, the staff is the friendliest group of people you could ever meet and park is beautiful!
Needs more trees! And more private sites. We go camping to be with our family, not everyone else's.
