Weatherford RV Park About

Introduction / Overview

For Texans navigating the open road or seeking an affordable and peaceful long-term living solution, Weatherford RV Park in Weatherford, Texas, stands out as a hidden gem. This park has garnered a reputation for its exceptional value, quiet atmosphere, and the remarkable dedication of its management, notably Vaughan. As one satisfied resident enthusiastically put it, "I really loved living here. Vaughan will really take care of you. And he really keeps the place up." This personal touch and commitment to resident well-being define the Weatherford RV Park experience.

Unlike larger, amenity-heavy RV resorts, Weatherford RV Park prides itself on offering a straightforward, no-frills approach that prioritizes affordability and a hassle-free environment. It's a place where "nobody bothers you," allowing residents to enjoy a sense of personal space and tranquility. The park is particularly well-suited for long-term stays, offering "cheap rent all bills paid" (with a clear electric credit system) and transparent utility rates, ensuring residents can budget effectively. While it may not offer communal laundry or bathroom facilities on-site, its core strengths lie in its excellent management, reasonable pricing, and quiet community vibe, making it a highly recommended choice for those who value practicality and a peaceful place to call home in their RV.

Location and Accessibility

Weatherford RV Park is conveniently located at 1409 Ranger Hwy, Weatherford, TX 76086, USA. This address places it strategically within Weatherford, a historic and growing city in Parker County, Texas. Its location offers a balance between easy accessibility to major thoroughfares and a peaceful environment away from the direct noise of heavy traffic.

For Texans traveling from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the park is highly accessible. Weatherford is situated directly on Interstate 20, making the journey from Fort Worth typically around 30-45 minutes to the west. From Dallas, the drive is approximately an hour to an hour and a half, depending on traffic. Ranger Highway (US 180) is a key arterial road in Weatherford, ensuring straightforward navigation to the park entrance.

The park's location offers residents convenient access to the amenities of Weatherford. Within a short drive, campers can reach grocery stores, gas stations, local restaurants, and shopping centers. Weatherford is also known for its historic downtown, antique shops, and community events, providing opportunities for recreation and engagement. Furthermore, the park's proximity to I-20 means that larger attractions and employment centers in the DFW area are within a reasonable commute for those working or seeking entertainment in the metroplex. This blend of local convenience and regional accessibility makes Weatherford RV Park a practical and appealing choice for both short-term visitors and long-term residents in Texas.

Services Offered

Weatherford RV Park focuses on providing essential services that prioritize affordability and ease of living for its residents, particularly those staying long-term. While it consciously opts out of offering certain communal facilities, its core services are highly valued. Here’s a breakdown of what campers can expect:

  • Full Hookup Sites: All sites are equipped with full hookups, typically including water, sewer, and electricity. This is a fundamental offering for RV parks, ensuring residents have immediate access to all necessary utilities at their site.

  • Electricity Included (with Credit) and Transparent Rates: A significant service highlight is that electricity is included in the rent up to a certain credit (e.g., $50). Critically, even if residents exceed this credit, they are only charged "regular electric company rates" with "no up-charged" fees. This transparency and fair pricing model are highly appreciated by residents for budgeting predictability.

  • Water & Sewer Included: Both water and sewer services are included as part of the monthly rent, simplifying utility management for residents.

  • Trash Services Included: Residents can expect convenient trash disposal services to be part of their inclusive rent, contributing to a clean and tidy park environment.

  • Handyman Services by Management: A unique and highly valued service is the availability of the manager, Vaughan, for "handyman issues... at very Affordable prices." This personalized support can be a huge benefit for RV owners who may need minor repairs or assistance.

  • Affordable and Reasonable Rent: The park is consistently praised for its "cheap rent" and "very reasonable" rates, making it a highly attractive option for budget-conscious RVers seeking long-term stays.

  • Focus on Quiet and Privacy: The park provides an environment where "nobody bothers you," indicating a commitment to respecting residents' privacy and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere.

  • Owner and Manager Support: Reviews highlight the excellent support and care provided by both the manager (Vaughan) and the owner (Steve), ensuring the park is well-maintained and residents feel looked after.

Note on Missing Amenities: It's important to explicitly note that the park currently does NOT have on-site laundry room or bathroom facilities, as highlighted in a customer review. This is a key piece of factual information for potential residents to consider.

Features / Highlights

Weatherford RV Park, while distinguishing itself by its focus on core value and a quiet atmosphere rather than extensive amenities, offers several compelling features and highlights that make it a standout choice for many Texans:

  • Exceptional Value & Affordability: This is perhaps the most significant highlight. The park consistently receives praise for its "cheap rent" and "very reasonable" pricing, making it one of the most budget-friendly long-term RV living options in the region. The transparent electricity billing (no up-charge, just regular rates) further emphasizes this commitment to affordability.

  • Outstanding Management & Owner Care: The dedication of Vaughan, the manager, and Steve, the owner, is a recurring theme in positive reviews. Residents appreciate that Vaughan "will really take care of you" and "keeps the place up," while also offering affordable handyman services. This personal touch fosters a strong sense of trust and well-being.

  • Quiet & Peaceful Atmosphere: For those seeking a serene living environment away from urban noise and large crowds, Weatherford RV Park delivers. Residents consistently describe it as a "quiet place" where "nobody bothers you," creating a relaxing and unburdened living experience.

  • Dedicated to Long-Term Residents: While short-term stays might be possible, the park's pricing structure and resident testimonials clearly indicate a strong suitability and focus on long-term renters. This creates a stable and settled community feel.

  • Full Hookup Convenience: Despite its affordability, the park provides essential full hookups (water, sewer, electricity) at every site, ensuring that residents have all the necessary utilities for comfortable RV living.

  • Transparent Utility Billing: The promise of "no up-charged" electricity, with charges only at "regular electric company rates" for usage beyond the credit, is a rare and highly appreciated feature, promoting trust and financial predictability for residents.

  • Pet-Friendly Environment: While not explicitly stated in the reviews, most RV parks accommodate pets with rules. Given the focus on long-term living and a peaceful environment, it's highly likely to be pet-friendly, a crucial factor for many RVers.

Important Consideration: No On-Site Laundry or Bathroom Facilities: A key factual highlight for transparency is the explicit lack of a communal laundry room or bathroom facilities, as noted by a past resident. This is a crucial piece of information for prospective residents to factor into their decision-making, as it means RVers must be self-contained or utilize off-site facilities.

Promotions or Special Offers

Weatherford RV Park's primary "promotion" is its consistently affordable pricing structure, particularly beneficial for long-term residents. As a privately operated RV park, its focus is on offering competitive rates that provide excellent value for money, rather than frequent, short-term promotional deals common in some other sectors.

Based on the provided customer reviews, the key "special offer" is its standard pricing model:

  • Highly Reasonable Monthly Rent: The park is consistently praised for its "cheap rent" and being "very reasonable." This ongoing affordability is a core value proposition, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious RVers in Texas. While specific monthly dollar amounts are not provided in the prompt, the general sentiment is that the rent is highly competitive.

  • Inclusive Utilities with Transparent Electricity: The rent structure includes water, sewer, and trash. Critically, electricity is included up to a certain credit (e.g., $50 as mentioned in a review). Beyond this credit, residents pay only "regular electric company rates," with "no up-charged" fees. This transparency and fair billing is a significant financial benefit and a form of consistent "promotion" for residents.

  • Affordable Handyman Services: While not a "discount," the availability of affordable handyman services from the manager, Vaughan, can save residents significant time and money on minor RV issues, effectively acting as a value-added service that contributes to the park's overall affordability.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, specific credit limits, and any other potential offerings (though less common for this type of park), prospective residents should directly contact Weatherford RV Park.

I really loved living here. Vaughan will really take care of you. And he really keeps the place up. Plus, he can take care of a lot of handyman issues for you, at very Affordable prices. And the rent is very reasonable. Even if you go over the $50 electric credit, the rates aren't up-charged. It's only regular electric company rates. Only problem I had was that there is no laundry room or bathroom facilities. I would've stayed indefinitely, and had planned to. But life threw me a curve ball, and I had to sell the trailer & move back to Ft. Worth.

Rude individual on the phone. Wouldn’t suggest staying there because he is entirely too busy to conduct business. He shouldn’t have a business due to his personal skills.
