Whether you're seeking a secluded spot for your RV, a cozy cabin for a weekend getaway, or a primitive site for an authentic camping experience, Wilderness Adventure RV Park provides a welcoming and peaceful environment. It’s the perfect place to unwind, explore the outdoors, and create lasting memories with family and friends in the heart of our beautiful state.
Wilderness Adventure RV Park is wonderfully situated at 462615 E 635 Rd, Tahlequah, OK 74457, USA. This address places it in a prime, albeit isolated, location for those looking to immerse themselves in the natural landscapes of Northeastern Oklahoma. While it offers a quiet and secluded experience, it remains accessible enough for travelers. Tahlequah, the capital of the Cherokee Nation and a vibrant community, is a short drive away, providing access to dining, shopping, and local attractions when you wish to venture out. The "isolated" nature of the park, as noted by visitors, means you’ll truly feel removed from the hustle and bustle, allowing for genuine relaxation. Roads leading to the park are generally navigable, though travelers should be prepared for a rural setting. This balance of peaceful seclusion and proximity to a larger town makes Wilderness Adventure RV Park an attractive option for those who value both tranquility and the convenience of nearby amenities. Its location within Cherokee County also opens up opportunities for exploring the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the area, making it a truly unique Oklahoma destination.
Wilderness Adventure RV Park is committed to providing essential services and amenities that ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay, whether you're in an RV, a tent, or a cabin. The focus here is on fundamental comforts that support a natural, peaceful outdoor experience.
-
RV Spaces: The park offers dedicated RV spaces, providing necessary hookups for water and electricity. While specific amperage details are not explicitly stated, these are typically equipped to accommodate various RV sizes and power needs.
-
Cabins: For those preferring a solid roof over their heads, the park offers cozy cabins. These cabins, as noted by visitors, may not have full kitchenettes or internet/local TV service, encouraging a more disconnected, nature-focused stay. They generally include a TV (for DVDs) and basic heating/lighting. It is advisable to clarify exact cabin amenities when booking.
-
Shower House: A communal shower house is available for all guests. The presence of a clean and functional shower facility is a significant convenience, especially for tent campers or those in cabins without private bathrooms.
-
Grills: Outdoor grills are provided, offering a classic way to cook meals and enjoy the outdoor dining experience. This is perfect for cooking up freshly caught fish or enjoying a BBQ.
-
Outside Dining Tables: Complementing the grills, outside dining tables are available, providing comfortable spaces for guests to enjoy their meals al fresco amidst the natural surroundings.
-
On-Site Staff Support: The park benefits from on-site staff, including a caretaker (Tom, as mentioned in reviews), who are available to assist guests and ensure a pleasant stay.
Wilderness Adventure RV Park truly shines through its distinctive features and highlights, which cater to those seeking a genuine outdoor experience with a focus on peace and quiet. These elements are what make a stay here truly memorable and distinct.
-
Exceptional Quiet and Isolation: This is perhaps the most emphasized feature. The park offers a very quiet and isolated setting, allowing guests to completely disconnect from urban noise and truly relax. It’s ideal for those seeking solitude and tranquility.
-
Terrific and Friendly Hosts/Staff: Visitors consistently praise the hosts and on-site staff, including the caretaker Tom, for being very helpful, pleasant, and terrific people. This personal touch significantly enhances the guest experience and contributes to a welcoming atmosphere.
-
Affordable Pricing: Reviews indicate that the prices for both RV spaces and cabins are "great," suggesting excellent value for a comfortable and peaceful stay in a natural setting.
-
Back-to-Nature Focus: While cabins offer some comforts, the general lack of extensive in-cabin entertainment (like local TV or internet) encourages guests to embrace the "wilderness adventure" aspect, focusing on outdoor activities or simply enjoying the quiet surroundings.
-
Good as a "Home Base": As noted by a visitor, the park is excellent if used as a "home base" for exploring the surrounding activities. This implies it's a comfortable and reliable spot to return to after a day of adventuring in the Tahlequah area.
-
Opportunity for Disconnection: For those wanting a digital detox, the limited connectivity in cabins can be a highlight, prompting guests to engage more with their companions or the natural environment.

Customer Reviews
This has almost everything you need except for a kitchenette stuffed in a cute little cabin. Unfortunately, there isn't very much room to store any luggage or gear. There is a nice big TV but no local service or Internet so if you want background TV noise bring lots of DVDs. There are a few DVDs there. Also some written (or typed) general instructions for the heater, lighting, etc. I finally figured out everything when it was about time to go. Unfortunately it rained every day I was there so I was stuck in the cabin most of the time so the "little things" really add up. If you could enjoy all the surrounding activities and just used it as a "home base" it would be great. There's not any places to eat unless you want to drive into Tahlequah. Not having a kitchen or TV was a definite drawback The caretaker Tom was very helpful and everyone I talked to were very pleasant.
Quiet, very isolated, the hosts are terrific people. On site staff is friendly and very helpful. Prices are great for rv spaces or cabins. Shower house, grills, as well as outside dining tables.
Place is pretty decent, but my Lord FIX YOUR EFFING ROADS!!!! I have a new remodel, four-wheel-drive, pick up truck and even with off-road suspension the roads or some of the worst I’ve driven on literally the type of road that will destroy your suspension
This place has a nice owner. It's the lazy River Campground that is posing as the same business using almost the same logo right down the block. Lazy River has stuff and dumpsters in the middle of America's roads. I'm calling Doc and renting his equipment to rearrange some bikes if that's what it takes to help America and her Rivers and roads. I'll take a hot meal I've never done anything but Serve this Country and pay lots of taxes for some small group to start trashing it in my back yard.
Best Place I've stayed at in Oklahoma. Even compared to where I am actually living. The host is amazing, too!
