For Pennsylvania families and travelers exploring the scenic western half of the state, Wolfs Camping Resort in Knox, PA, stands out as a destination that seamlessly blends convenience with comprehensive recreational opportunities. Far more than a simple overnight stop, this establishment is a large, full-service camping resort designed to be a complete vacation experience, particularly for those traveling with RVs, though comfortable cabin and rental options are available. The resort is renowned for its wide array of on-site amenities, ensuring that guests of all ages find something engaging to do throughout their stay.
The core of Wolfs Camping Resort’s appeal is its commitment to family fun and accessibility. Reviewers consistently praise the kind, courteous, and helpful staff, highlighting the welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel valued from the moment they check in. Whether you are seeking a weekend base camp for exploring the nearby natural attractions of Clarion County and the PA Wilds, or you simply want a resort where the kids can be fully entertained without leaving the property, Wolfs Camping Resort offers a robust and reliable option. This resort caters effectively to both short-term visitors and those who make it their seasonal home, creating a lively community spirit in the heart of Western Pennsylvania.
One of the most significant advantages of Wolfs Camping Resort is its highly strategic and easily accessible location. Situated in Knox, PA, the resort is located at:
308 Timberwolf Run, Knox, PA 16232, USA
Crucially for Pennsylvanians traveling across the state, the resort is located just moments off of Interstate 80 (I-80), specifically near Exit 53. This makes it an ideal stopover for cross-state travel, as well as a practical destination for residents coming from Pittsburgh, Erie, or even the Harrisburg area, who are looking for a straightforward drive to a comprehensive recreational retreat.
The proximity to I-80 means that the resort is very easy to find and access, minimizing stressful navigation. While some reviews mention the potential to hear nearby highway noise, the convenience of the location, particularly for big-rig RVs utilizing the resort’s pull-thru sites, often outweighs this consideration. Furthermore, being located in Clarion County places the resort in an area rich with outdoor attractions, including the nearby Cook Forest State Park and the scenic Clarion River, making it an excellent base camp for local exploration and day trips into the surrounding wilderness.
Wolfs Camping Resort provides a wide variety of services and site types to accommodate nearly every style of camper, from tenters to large-scale RV enthusiasts.
Campsites for Every Need: Offering over 500 sites in total, including numerous full-hookup sites (water, electric, sewer), pull-thru sites suitable for big rigs, and dedicated electric/water and tents-only sites.
Varied Rental Units: Accommodation options are not limited to camping. Guests can choose from comfortable rental trailers, fully self-contained park models, and both secluded woodland and sunny open camping cabins. Some cabins are handicap accessible.
Essential Campground Services: On-site services include clean bathhouses, laundry facilities, a sanitary dump station, propane (LP Gas) sales, firewood, and a well-stocked grocery store/campstore.
Utilities and Connectivity: Most sites offer a choice of 20/30/50 amp electric hookups, and cable TV is available at designated sites.
Group and Event Facilities: The resort offers a Recreation Hall and a venue called "The Den" that can be booked for weddings, conferences, or large family gatherings.
Discounts: Wolfs Camping Resort offers available discounts, including those for AAA, AARP members, and a substantial discount for active military and active PA state police (Note: only one discount can be applied per reservation and discounts are generally excluded on holidays).
The true distinction of Wolfs Camping Resort lies in its extensive recreational facilities, setting it apart as one of the most complete recreational options in Northwest Pennsylvania.
On-Site 9-Hole Golf Course: A major highlight is the executive 9-hole golf course, which includes club and cart rentals, appealing to adults looking for recreation without leaving the park. A driving and chipping range is also available.
Water Fun: Guests can enjoy a large, heated swimming pool and an adult-only hot tub, perfect for relaxation and family fun, along with a catch-and-release fishing lake.
Themed Activities and Events: The resort maintains a calendar of planned weekly campground activities and themed weekends (such as Memorial Day, Western, and Christmas in July), ensuring consistent entertainment for families throughout the open season (typically April 15th to October 31st).
Sports and Games: A wide range of recreational fields and areas are available, including pickleball courts, volleyball, horseshoe pits, bocce ball, and a large arcade/game room.
Dining Convenience: A poolside Snack Shack/Ice Cream stand offers quick bites and treats during facility operating hours.
Family-Friendly Environment: Multiple playgrounds and recreation fields cater specifically to children, while the general atmosphere is known for being family-friendly and welcoming to pets (with specific rules and registration required).

Site was comfortable but average. desk help at check in was efficient and pleasant. Place was quiet - not many people around. Lots of permanent campers. Bath houses were clean. Location is alongside the I80 so you could hear trucks.
Aug 26, 2025 · Michael WindersWe were supposed to take our camper and provide entertainment for an evening, however the week prior my truck was involved in an accident and I wasn't able to pull my camper. So they gave us a park model for our 2 night stay and it was quite nice. Very clean and the folks at the campground were awesome!! Kind, courteous and very helpful. We will be returning with our camper once my truck is out of the shop
Jun 25, 2025 · Allyn SmithWent for a family reunion and had a great time! There is so much to do there it was hard to pack it all in one weekend. Staff was helpful and kind. Bathrooms and pool was very tidy and well maintained. They had cornhole tournaments golfing, children’s activities and even a friggin luau with free Hawaiian food!! The parks and basketball courts are all functional.. can’t wait to go back!!
Aug 24, 2025 · Marshall RockwoodI’ll start this by saying this was year 3 at wolf’s and officially our last. Uneven sites, pine trees overgrown, hanging down so far even a travel trailer hits them. No control on noise, golf carts run well past the 11PM “quiet time”. Don’t stop at stop signs, especially the children allowed to drive them freely without adult supervision. Golf carts are allowed in the grass near the basketball court & playground, drive far too fast for the safety of children. Even after dark! Pool is supposed to be family friendly, “swim at your own risk” and “watch your children” yet they call adult swim every hour for 15 minutes to give THREE lifeguards a “break” meanwhile they sit by the pool talking to each-other while children scream because they don’t understand why some people can be in the pool but they can’t. We were told adult swim should only be called if there is a certain amount of adults in the pool but we were not given the exact number, almost as if they don’t actually have one. Adult swim was called once yesterday, Saturday, July 19th, when there was ONE other adult that wasn’t a parent of the children in the group, I might add, she was not even near this woman. Why don’t they call adult swim for an hour at lunch time? 12-1? OR, adult swim where no children are allowed in the deep end? If we are required to watch our own children, then our children should have the right to swim at any time and not be kicked out because the teenage lifeguards need a “break” to sit and gossip. They barely watch the pool as it is when they’re actually on their post, so what’s the difference.
Jul 20, 2025 · Kasey CrispenWas a nice place to stay i took my 34' with me to go to a reunion and not have to drive home after it was all done. Nice pool and other things to do
