In Des Plaines, a vibrant suburb of Chicago, Oasis Mobile Home Park stands as one such community. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of Oasis Mobile Home Park, specifically tailored for local users in Illinois who are exploring mobile home living as a potential solution to their housing needs.
Oasis Mobile Home Park is located in Des Plaines, Illinois, offering a specific type of residential living that can appeal to a diverse range of individuals and families. Mobile home parks provide residents with leased land on which to place their manufactured homes, often at a lower cost than traditional homeownership in the surrounding areas. This model can be particularly attractive for those seeking more affordable entry points into homeownership or a more flexible rental arrangement. As a community, Oasis Mobile Home Park, like any other, has its unique characteristics, reflecting the experiences of its residents and its management. Understanding these nuances is crucial for prospective residents. The park appears to be a dynamic environment, with reports of new homes and renovations being undertaken by owners, suggesting a degree of resident investment and pride in their properties. However, as with any community, there are also areas that potential residents should be aware of, including varying conditions of homes and feedback regarding management interactions. It's this blend of resident initiative and communal feedback that paints a comprehensive picture of life within Oasis Mobile Home Park.
Oasis Mobile Home Park is situated at 7500 Elmhurst Rd # 611, Des Plaines, IL 60018, USA. Des Plaines is a well-established city in Cook County, Illinois, conveniently located northwest of downtown Chicago. This location offers residents excellent accessibility to a wide array of amenities and services. Elmhurst Road (Route 83) is a major north-south arterial road, providing direct access to neighboring suburbs and connecting to larger interstate highways, including I-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) and I-294 (Tri-State Tollway). This makes commuting to employment centers, accessing shopping districts, and reaching entertainment venues throughout the Chicago metropolitan area relatively straightforward. Public transportation options, including Metra commuter rail services from Des Plaines, also serve the area, potentially offering alternatives for those who prefer not to drive. The proximity to O'Hare International Airport, while convenient for travel, also means residents should consider potential noise impacts. Des Plaines itself offers a range of local facilities, from parks and recreational areas to schools, healthcare providers, and various retail and dining establishments, all within a reasonable distance from the mobile home park.
While specific, detailed lists of services directly provided by Oasis Mobile Home Park management are not widely publicized, typical services offered by mobile home parks in Illinois generally include:
- Lot Leases: Residents typically lease the individual plots of land where their manufactured homes are situated. This lease covers the use of the land and access to common areas.
- Utility Hookups: Standard utility connections such as water, sewer, and electricity are usually available at each lot. The cost of these utilities may be separate from the lot rent and billed directly to residents.
- Waste Management: Regular trash and recycling collection services are typically included or arranged by the park management.
- Community Management: An on-site or accessible management team handles the day-to-day operations of the park, addresses resident concerns, and enforces park rules and regulations.
- Common Area Maintenance: Maintenance of shared spaces, roads within the park, and common landscaping is generally managed by the park.
- Pet Policies: Based on reviews noting ear-tipped cats, it appears there might be a pet policy, possibly including provisions for feral cat management in accordance with Cook County ordinances, which is a positive sign for animal welfare within the community.
Oasis Mobile Home Park offers several features that contribute to its appeal and define the living experience for its residents:
- Affordable Housing Option: For many, the primary highlight is the opportunity to own a home in the Des Plaines area at a more accessible price point compared to traditional real estate.
- Resident-Driven Renovations: A notable highlight from customer feedback indicates that many residents are actively investing in and renovating their homes, suggesting a community where individuals take pride in their living spaces.
- Community Atmosphere: The presence of long-term residents and the general sentiment that "People really don't give you a Problem" can indicate a relatively peaceful and self-sufficient community, at least among neighbors.
- Feral Cat Management Program: The observation of ear-tipped cats suggests a responsible approach to managing the local cat population, aligning with Cook County ordinances. This effort is commendable for both animal welfare and potentially for pest control (less rats).
- Proximity to Des Plaines Amenities: The park’s location allows easy access to Des Plaines’ public services, schools, parks, shopping centers, and recreational facilities, enriching the lives of its residents.
- Transportation Access: Excellent connectivity to major roadways and potential access to Metra commuter lines is a significant benefit for commuters and those who frequently travel.

Customer Reviews
Someone is doing a Great Job with the Cats, I've noticed some of them have an Ear Tip which means they're being Fixed! Which is even better because they are Protected by Cook County Ordinance! They're Protected by Law! Hooray 🙌 and Also less Rats. It's a Nice place! A lot of new homes and Renovations done by Owners, People really don't give you a Problem. But Like other Reviews said, Management is Rude and Condescending. They really just hate anyone for No reason. It really doesn't hurt to be a little nice. This guy I met said that Management constantly bother him even though he lives there. That's just Crazy!. But Hey I just live here, that's all I know lol
Was looking into getting a place there but after seeing one home I'd rather not. Way to many run down homes with plastic for windows or boarded up. It's obvious that the majority of people living here don't care. There are some nice homes but those are few and fair between. I'd look elsewhere.
I love to live here! Nice people, never had any problem after living here over a year.. gracias por todo
I am a school bus driver. I come to pick up my kids and take them home. People seem friendly and will wave at the bus. Streets are wide enough to get down. A large number of children, dogs, and feral cats. My friends who live here have had problems in the past but the office staff is better now.
Lived in the park for a long time, couldn't use the yard due to how mushy it was. Spurting of mud at night and would have huge mounds in the morning. Called health department and some other department came out and managed to pull out some very large cray fish. Had great neighbors even though the grounds had alot of broken glass etc.
