Old Lafayette Highway is a well-established road, ensuring easy navigation for RVs and other vehicles, which is a major plus for anyone with a larger rig.

The park's address positions it perfectly to benefit from Opelika's local amenities while still offering a sense of quiet seclusion. Residents have relatively easy access to grocery stores, shopping centers, healthcare facilities, and a variety of dining options within Opelika. Furthermore, the short drive to Auburn makes it a convenient choice for students, university staff, or anyone wanting to enjoy the events and cultural offerings of Auburn without being directly in the midst of its hustle and bustle. The connectivity to major local roads and highways means that residents can efficiently commute to work, school, or other destinations across the region. This balance of being close to essential services and employment opportunities, yet removed enough to offer a peaceful living environment, underscores its suitability for locals.

Services Offered

Baker's Trailer & RV Park focuses on providing essential services to ensure comfortable long-term living for its residents. While it's a smaller park with a quiet community feel, it offers key amenities that support a stable RV or mobile home lifestyle.

  • Mobile Home Lots: The park also provides designated lots for mobile homes, complete with necessary utility connections for long-term residency.
  • Water and Sewer Included: Water and sewer services are typically furnished as part of the monthly rent for RVs and mobile homes.
  • Wireless Internet: Complimentary wireless internet is available, a crucial amenity for staying connected in today's world.
  • Washateria (Laundry Facilities): There is an on-site laundry facility, or "washateria," with specific operating hours (7:00 AM - 10:00 PM), providing a convenient option for residents.
  • Garbage Collection: Garbage collection services are provided, with clear rules regarding waste disposal (e.g., flattening cardboard boxes, bagging and tying garbage).
  • Lawn Maintenance: Lawn maintenance is generally provided as part of the monthly rent for RVs and mobile homes, ensuring the park remains tidy without residents needing to perform their own landscaping.
  • Keyed Mailboxes / "Post Office": Residents have access to individual keyed mailboxes, offering a secure and convenient way to receive mail.
  • On-site Management: The landlord or owner reportedly lives on-site, which allows for direct communication and prompt attention to resident needs and park management.

Features / Highlights

Baker's Trailer & RV Park is characterized by specific features that highlight its suitability as a quiet, secure, and long-term living option in Opelika.

  • Quiet Community: A consistent highlight from residents is the park's tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for those seeking to avoid excessive noise and disturbances.
  • Fenced Lots: Many of the lots, particularly for mobile homes, are described as being fenced in. This provides a sense of personal space, added security, and a designated area for residents and their pets.
  • Secure Mailboxes / "Lock Boxes": The presence of keyed mailboxes, referred to by residents as "lock boxes" or "The Post Office," offers a secure method for mail delivery and receipt.
  • On-Site Landlord/Owner: The owner reportedly lives on-site, which fosters a sense of immediate responsiveness to issues and helps in maintaining firm but fair rules for the community.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Small pets are allowed, and each home typically has a fenced yard, making it highly accommodating for pet owners. There are, however, specific rules regarding pet size (e.g., no dogs over 25 or 30 pounds depending on source), leash requirements, and cleanup.
  • Firm Rules for a Reason: While rules are in place (e.g., regarding vehicle limits, property modifications, noise), residents often state they are "firm rules for a reason," suggesting they contribute to the overall quiet and orderly nature of the park, benefiting the community as a whole. This includes regulations on things like vegetable gardens (not allowed), portable buildings (pre-approval needed), and vehicle types.
  • Established Park: Having been in operation for many years, Baker's has an established resident base and a proven track record as a long-term living solution.
  • Affordability: While specific pricing needs to be confirmed directly, trailer and RV parks like Baker's generally offer a more affordable housing alternative compared to traditional rental properties in the area.
  • Forested Setting: Despite being close to town, the park is described as being in a "beautifully forested setting," offering a natural backdrop and perhaps some shade.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on available public information, Baker's Trailer & RV Park primarily operates with established rental rates, rather than frequently advertising short-term promotions or special offers. The park's focus appears to be on providing consistent, competitive pricing for long-term residents.

Information suggests a tiered pricing structure based on the size of the RV and length of stay, which functions as a form of long-term discount:

  • Daily Rate: Reportedly around $25.00 per day (though reviews suggest a focus on longer stays).
  • Monthly RV Rates:
    • RVs under 35 feet with 30 amp service: approximately $375.00 per month.
    • RVs between 35-40 feet or with 50 amp service: approximately $425.00 per month.
    • RVs over 40 feet with 50 amp service: approximately $495.00 per month.
  • Mobile Home Rental Rates: These rates vary, and are best confirmed directly with the park, but are typically inclusive of water, wireless internet, sewer, garbage collection, and lawn maintenance.

It's important to note that rents may be adjusted higher for those with higher than normal utility bills, and there are additional costs for outdoor chest freezers. All rents are prorated when moving in/out, and a late fee of $50.00 is charged for payments received after the 3rd and by the 10th of the month.

Given the emphasis on long-term stays, it is highly recommended that prospective residents contact Baker's Trailer & RV Park directly using the phone numbers provided to confirm current pricing, availability, and any specific terms for their intended length of stay.
