Situated in picturesque Avery County, this RV park provides access to some of the state's most iconic natural landmarks and outdoor activities. While new visitors might find aspects that are still developing, the resort's commitment to continuous improvement and its strategic position make it a noteworthy option for your next mountain getaway.
Customer feedback, while varied, offers valuable insights into the current experience at Big Mike's Creekside RV Resort. Some guests have highlighted areas where the park could enhance its offerings. For instance, comments about "extremely tight spaces caused difficulty in backing in" and "limited area to relax outside of camper where the sewage lines from neighbors campers were so close you didn’t want to be outside" suggest that site spacing and outdoor relaxation areas are aspects being addressed. The suggestion to "take the 'resort' word out of their name" indicates that while the location is excellent, guests might be looking for more traditional resort amenities.
However, the park's management appears to be responsive to feedback and focused on future enhancements. One reviewer noted, "It seems like they are explaining the park and if they make the new spaces larger we might return but I would not recommend this place. I think they have a lot of reasonable areas to improve upon." This suggests an ongoing effort to evolve and meet guest expectations, particularly regarding site size and overall experience. Despite initial challenges, the management seems open to dialogue and improving the guest experience. The positive aspect consistently highlighted is the location: "Location was close to a lot of mountain type things to do to include Grandfather mountain." This undeniable advantage positions Big Mike's Creekside RV Resort as a convenient starting point for exploring the vibrant mountain region of North Carolina.

Customer Reviews
Extremely tight spaces caused difficulty in backing in, limited area to relax outside of camper where the sewage lines from neighbors campers were so close you didn’t want to be outside. No real amenities, should take the “resort” word out of their name. We arrived later in the evening but before the end of check in time which caused a delay in setting up because there wasn’t anyone there. After knocking on his trailer we got no response. Called their number left a message. Received a call back fairly quick and was basically checked in via phone conversation and was told to speak to the camp host. After setting up camp host came by our slot, gave us our paper work and left. I asked about a picnic table and said he would bring one in the morning. The next day after returning from exploring the area still no table. Talked to the office and they finally brought one over. Location was close to a lot of mountain type things to do to include Grandfather mountain. It seems like they are explaining the park and if they make the new spaces larger we might return but I would not recommend this place. I think they have a lot of reasonable areas to improve upon.
I had no problem with the place until I apparently got banned all bc I broke up with one of the tenants and they started threatening me
This was our first time to Big Mike’s Creekside RV Resort. It was a bit disappointing because I felt it was a bit deceiving. They state they have a dog park which they don’t. For us that is huge since we always travel with our two dogs. I was also disappointed that I got a text saying they were expecting me and my site was all prepared for me. When we got to our site it had a stalled lawnmower in it that they had to remove with a bobcat. I called ahead and asked if we would have a picnic table. They stated yes but we didn’t. We asked the host who removed the lawnmower if we could get one and he never came back. We called the number for the RV park. No one ever answers you leave a message and they get back to you or you text them and they get back to you. I suggest you text because sometimes my messages were not answered for hours. Eventually we just grabbed a picnic table from a vacant site. There are about 20 full time people there who appear to live there. It was pretty quiet. They are about 50% paved roads and 50% gravel. Pads are not wide enough and roads are too narrow. They planted some new trees in the whole RV park which look great but made it challenging to get in your site if you are long. They were building a stage for events in the future. I can say whoever owns it is trying hard to make it nice but they have a ways to go. I would focus more on customer service. All in all it was ok. We stayed 8 days.
It's a RV campsite place they have all kinds of campsite. They even have a coffee shop there the sale of all kinds of flavored coffee
We went for the 2024 Halloween bash. And the kids had a blast!!!! I haven't personally stayed there, but I know the location is beautiful! And everyone was super friendly, and lots of room between Rvs.
