This isn't just another campground; it's a private, member-owned, and family-oriented vacation park that has been a beloved destination for over 50 years. Established in 1970 and becoming the first successful camper-owned campground in the Midwest in 1975, Camp Delton Club provides a distinctive blend of community, natural beauty, and convenient access to all the Dells has to offer.
Spanning 93 acres and consisting of four distinct "villages," the club boasts 341 park-like sites, with an additional 9 guest sites available for members' visitors. As a non-profit corporation run by a Board of Directors elected from its own membership, Camp Delton Club truly embodies a community spirit where members have exclusive use of a permanent campsite. This model fosters a strong sense of belonging and ensures that the campground's direction aligns with the desires of its members.
Reviews from long-standing members paint a picture of a cherished retreat. One member, with Camp Delton Club since 2015, enthusiastically states they are "still having a great time! Excellent place for family and friends to spend quality time together." They highlight the "swimming pool, trails and access to Mirror lake make for lots of fun," and strongly recommend joining: "If you have not joined our club yet, you really should. So much better then other camps in the area." Another review simply declares it the "Best place for family and friends!! Bought here several years ago, still my happy place!" These testimonials underscore the deep satisfaction and loyalty that members feel towards this unique camping club.
Camp Delton Club is designed for those seeking more than a transient campsite; it's about investing in a long-term "home away from home" where countless memories can be made year after year. It's a place to relax, leave tensions behind, and enjoy a year-round family-oriented adventure amidst the natural beauty of Mirror Lake and the excitement of Wisconsin Dells.
Camp Delton Club boasts an exceptional location at E10305 Xanadu Rd, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965, USA. This address places it in a prime spot that offers the best of both worlds for Wisconsin locals: serene natural surroundings with direct access to water recreation, while still being incredibly close to the vibrant attractions of Wisconsin Dells.
The club is "conveniently located just off I-90/94 behind WalMart," ensuring easy and straightforward access for members and their guests traveling from various parts of Wisconsin and beyond. Camp Delton Club distinguishes itself with a unique set of features and highlights that consistently draw praise from its members, making it a beloved institution for Wisconsin locals. These aspects solidify its position as more than just a campground, but a true community and long-term vacation destination:
- Camper-Owned & Not-for-Profit Structure: This is arguably its most significant highlight. As the "first successful camper-owned campground in the Midwest," members aren't just guests; they are owners. This fosters a unique sense of community, shared responsibility, and ensures that the club's direction is guided by the members' best interests, as seen with the Board of Directors being elected from the general membership.
- Permanent Site Ownership/Exclusive Use: Members gain the "exclusive right to use your campsite" year after year, eliminating the hassle of reservations for every trip. This allows for personalization of sites, turning them into true "home away from home" spaces, as many members install park models or semi-permanent campers.
- Direct Mirror Lake Access: The club is "located directly on Mirror Lake," a no-wake lake perfect for peaceful water activities. With "canoe/kayak launching & a boat pier," members have immediate access for swimming, fishing, pontooning, kayaking, and canoeing, a significant advantage over many Dells accommodations.
- Extensive Natural Grounds & Trails: Spanning 93 acres, the property offers "hiking trails around every corner" and even includes "Mirror Mountain" with "Lookout Point," providing spectacular views. This abundant green space ensures opportunities for nature walks, birdwatching, and outdoor exploration without leaving the club.
- Year-Round Accessibility: Unlike many seasonal campgrounds, Camp Delton Club is "Open Year Round." This means members can enjoy their site in all seasons, from summer water fun to winter activities, with plowed roads ensuring access during snowy months.
- Family-Oriented Activities & Amenities: The club emphasizes "family and friends" fun, offering a "swimming pool," basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and a playground. They organize "Activities for all ages," creating a vibrant social calendar and opportunities for inter-family engagement.
- Comprehensive Facilities: Beyond the sites themselves, the club provides essential comforts including 24/7 access to showers in the clubhouse, additional laundry facilities in "villages," and a country store, ensuring convenience for both short and extended stays.
- Strong Community & Loyalty: The reviews consistently highlight the long-term enjoyment and strong bonds formed within the club ("still my happy place," "Best place for family and friends!!"). This vibrant, welcoming community is a powerful draw for those seeking more than just a place to park their RV.
These combined features make Camp Delton Club an exceptionally appealing and enduring choice for those seeking a permanent, community-focused camping lifestyle in the Wisconsin Dells area.
As a private, membership-owned campground, Camp Delton Club operates differently from traditional public campgrounds that offer nightly rates and seasonal promotions. Instead, the "promotion" or "special offer" here is the inherent value derived from becoming a member. This means long-term benefits and a unique investment in a consistent vacation spot rather than transient discounts.
Here's how the value proposition and "offers" generally work for Camp Delton Club:
- Membership Purchase: New members typically "buy a membership from a current member who wants to sell their membership." This often includes the camping structure already on the campsite (e.g., park model, pull-behind camper). The "prices vary depending on many factors such as the camping unit-type, age, condition, and location within the camp." This is the primary "entry point" and investment.
- Annual Dues for Inclusive Access: Once a member, the annual club dues cover a significant portion of the operating costs and access to amenities. For example, past dues (e.g., $1060.00 including tax for 2015) have covered "the pool, security, city water, sewer, office operations, and maintenance of the common facilities such as roads, and lawns." This means consistent, predictable costs for extensive services.
- Exclusive Use of Site: The biggest "offer" is the "exclusive right to use your campsite" year-round without the hassle of making reservations or paying fluctuating nightly fees. This provides immense value for frequent visitors to the Dells.
- Access to Guest Sites: Members can book "guest sites for rent" for their friends and family, allowing them to share the unique experience of the club.
- Long-Term Savings Compared to Public Camps: As one reviewer noted, it's "So much better then other camps in the area." While requiring an initial membership purchase and annual dues, over many years, the cost can be significantly less than continually paying nightly fees at comparable Dells campgrounds, especially for those who visit frequently or seasonally.
- Investment Value: Owning a membership means you have an asset that can potentially be sold in the future, retaining some of its value, unlike simply paying for transient stays.
To learn more about becoming a member, interested Wisconsin locals should visit the "SALES" section of the Camp Delton Club website or contact them directly. This is where information on available memberships (often including the on-site camping unit) and the process for becoming a part of this unique camper-owned community will be found. The true "promotion" is the long-term, community-rich, and hassle-free camping lifestyle it offers.
For Wisconsin locals interested in learning more about the unique membership opportunities or planning a visit as a guest of a member, contacting Camp Delton Club directly is the most effective way to gather information. Their team can provide details on available memberships, site features, annual dues, guest site availability, and more. Here's how to reach them:
- Address: E10305 Xanadu Rd, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965, USA
- Phone: (608) 254-8361

campdelton.com
for comprehensive details. The website includes sections on "About Us," "Activities," "SALES" (for membership information), and "GUEST SITES" (for booking guest stays if you are a member's guest). - Email: While a direct general email isn't prominently displayed, the website's "Contact Us" section typically features a contact form for inquiries.
The club office generally has limited hours, for example, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, so it's advisable to check their website or call ahead for the most accurate office hours. When contacting them, especially regarding membership sales, be prepared to discuss your interest in a long-term camping arrangement and any specific questions you may have about the club's unique operational model. The staff, or the member selling a share, will be your best resource for navigating this distinctive ownership experience.
For Wisconsin locals, Camp Delton Club offers a truly distinct and highly suitable camping experience, particularly for those who desire a stable, long-term "home away from home" in the heart of the Wisconsin Dells. Its unique identity as the Midwest's first camper-owned, non-profit campground creates a sense of community and belonging that is rare in the transient world of public camping.
The core appeal for locals lies in the ability to have exclusive, year-round use of a permanent campsite, eliminating the constant need for reservations and allowing for personal customization. This transforms a simple campsite into a cherished family retreat, fostering a deep connection to the property and its vibrant community. Testimonials from long-standing members who call it their "happy place" and an "excellent place for family and friends to spend quality time together" speak volumes about this enduring appeal.
Beyond the ownership model, the club's features directly cater to a Wisconsin lifestyle. Its prime location directly on the peaceful Mirror Lake provides unparalleled access for boating, kayaking, and fishing, while still being minutes away from the excitement of the Dells' waterparks and attractions. The extensive 93-acre grounds, complete with hiking trails and a swimming pool, offer ample opportunities for recreation right on-site. The year-round accessibility, including plowed roads in winter, ensures that members can enjoy their investment across all seasons.
While the initial investment of a membership and annual dues requires a different mindset than nightly rentals, for frequent visitors to the Dells or those seeking a consistent vacation spot, it presents significant long-term value and convenience. Camp Delton Club is more than just a place to park an RV; it's a lifestyle, a community, and a lasting legacy for families, making it an exceptionally suitable and rewarding choice for Wisconsin residents.
