"Camper" is a campground located at 1061 Broad River Rd, Pomaria, SC 29126, USA. While its name is simply "Camper," the reviews paint a clear picture of its focus and offerings. It primarily caters to "long term" occupants, suggesting a community where individuals stay for extended periods, making it more akin to a long-term RV park than a transient campground designed for short vacationers.
The defining characteristics of "Camper" appear to be its emphasis on "very quiet" surroundings, abundant "shade," and the provision of "full hookups." This combination makes it particularly appealing to those who value a peaceful environment and the convenience of essential utilities for their RV. While it may not offer extensive communal facilities like public shower houses or laundromats, its strength lies in providing spacious, well-equipped sites for those who are self-contained and seeking a serene, long-term stay. For South Carolinians, such a campground offers a practical solution for extended visits, temporary housing, or simply a tranquil base to explore the region.
"Camper" is situated at 1061 Broad River Rd, Pomaria, SC 29126, USA. Pomaria is a small, unincorporated community located in Newberry County, South Carolina. This rural setting provides a peaceful backdrop, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the state.
The location on Broad River Road suggests proximity to the Broad River, which often means opportunities for water-based recreation, although this is not explicitly mentioned for the campground itself. A significant highlight of its accessibility is its closeness to the "Palmetto Trail," South Carolina's statewide hiking and biking trail network. This is a major draw for outdoor enthusiasts, offering immediate access to extensive natural pathways for recreation. While in a rural area, reviewers note it’s a "reasonable drive to town," implying that essential services like grocery stores, gas stations, and local eateries in nearby Newberry or other towns are conveniently reachable. This balance of secluded tranquility and practical accessibility makes "Camper" an attractive option for those who want to enjoy the quiet countryside without being entirely disconnected from necessary amenities. For locals, it provides a convenient base for enjoying the Palmetto Trail and the charm of rural South Carolina.

- Monthly Rates: These are almost certainly available and would be the most economical option for those planning extended visits.
- Seasonal Discounts: While less common for long-term parks, some may offer slightly adjusted rates during off-peak seasons.
- No Daily/Short-Term Discounts: The review noting "If you don't stay a week, it's expensive per night & not worth the price" strongly suggests that shorter stays are priced at a premium, reinforcing the park's focus on longer-term residents.

Most of the occupants are long term but it’s very quiet close to the palmetto trail. Lots of shade. No restrooms but have full hookups
It's great if you want quiet and shade. The electrical boxes are well done with 30, 50, amp plugs as well as a regular outlet. The lots are a good size. There is no public shower house nor washers/dryers. It's also a reasonable drive to town.
I give this place 5 stars. I have spent a lot of time here and away from here. If you like peace it’s a great spot to stop in. If you are not good at setting up your camper or backing in, I suggest you call the owner and leave a message. He can set up an appointment with staff to make your stay easy peasy.
We moved from a lakeside camp ground to here. Much for the better. Dahl is a good man, he's always been good to us. I started work on a ramp to the front door. Much to my surprise , came to our camp spot to find he, along with the help of another man had man , had already helped complete the job.
Lovely, quiet campground with roomy, wooded sites. We are enjoying a very peaceful stay here. It's the best of 2 worlds: a short drive to grocery and restaurants yet secluded and close to hiking and fishing. The owner is great, too! We highly recommend Rivet Road Family Campground!
