This article will take you on a tour of what makes Camp Feggestad a special destination for those of us living in Wisconsin. Camp Feggestad is located at 2817 Elo Rd, Oshkosh, WI 54904, USA. Situated just outside the main bustle of Oshkosh, this location offers the peace and quiet of a rural setting while maintaining excellent accessibility to city amenities and major attractions. Oshkosh itself is a vibrant city in East Central Wisconsin, known for its beautiful lakes (Lake Winnebago, Lake Butte des Morts), its vibrant downtown, and of course, being the host city for the world-renowned EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
Elo Road provides straightforward access from main thoroughfares, making it easy to reach Camp Feggestad, whether you're coming from Milwaukee, Green Bay, or any other part of Wisconsin. While tucked away enough to provide a sense of seclusion, the campground's proximity to Oshkosh means that campers are never far from grocery stores, restaurants, fuel stations, and other conveniences. This balance between a tranquil natural environment and practical accessibility is a significant advantage for local campers who want to feel like they've truly "gotten away" without being completely isolated. Its location also makes it an excellent base for exploring the wider Fox Valley region and its many offerings.
Camp Feggestad, despite its more intimate size with primarily one camper site, goes above and beyond to provide a range of services and amenities that enhance the camping experience, particularly for families.
Single Camper Site with 30 Amp Hookup: The campground primarily features one dedicated camper site, which includes a convenient 30 amp electric hookup. This provides essential power for RVs and ensures a comfortable stay. While limited, this singular focus often means dedicated attention from the hosts.
Walking Distance to Pool and Playground: The prime location of the camper site offers easy walking access to the on-site pool and playground. This is a huge convenience for families with children, allowing kids to quickly and safely reach popular recreation areas.
Trap Shoot Range: For enthusiasts, Camp Feggestad provides a trap shoot range. This unique offering allows visitors to engage in target practice and enjoy a specialized shooting sport activity right on the premises.
Rifle Range: In addition to the trap shoot, a rifle range is also available. This caters to a broader range of shooting sports, providing a controlled environment for firearm practice and enjoyment.
Petting Zoo: A delightful attraction for younger guests and animal lovers, the on-site petting zoo provides an interactive experience with friendly animals. This adds a unique, farm-like charm to the camping experience.
Aquarium with Colorful Fish and Crabs: A new addition highlighted by recent visitors is an aquarium "teaming with all sorts of colorful fish." Kids are even given "cool tools" to feed the crabs in the aquarium, providing an engaging and educational activity.
Chicken Coop Access: Children are invited to go into the chicken coop to "fetch eggs and feed them." This hands-on, farm-to-table experience is a memorable activity for kids and offers a unique insight into farm life.
Warm Hospitality and Community Meals: The hosts are noted for being "very nice" and going above and beyond, even inviting campers to dinner and preparing breakfast pizza for guests. This personal touch creates a welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere.
Background Music and Fireworks (Seasonal): Reviews mention "great background music" and seasonal events like "fireworks," suggesting that the hosts actively curate an enjoyable and festive ambiance for their guests.
Camp Feggestad stands out due to its distinctive blend of recreational activities, personalized touches, and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a unique gem in Wisconsin's camping landscape.
Unique Blend of Activities: Where else can you find a trap shoot range, a petting zoo, and an aquarium all at one campground? This diverse array of activities ensures there's something to entertain every member of the family, from adventurous adults to curious children.
Personalized Host Experience: The consistent praise for the hosts—their friendliness, willingness to invite guests to meals, and overall hospitality—is a major highlight. This personal touch elevates the camping experience beyond just a place to stay, making guests feel truly welcomed and part of the Camp Feggestad family.
Family-Centric Environment: With a pool, playground, petting zoo, and opportunities for kids to interact with chickens and feed crabs, the campground is clearly designed with families in mind. These engaging activities create lasting memories for children and provide opportunities for parents to relax.
Shooting Sports Access: The presence of both a trap shoot and rifle range is a significant draw for shooting enthusiasts, offering a convenient and safe place to practice their sport while camping.
Intimate and Friendly Atmosphere: The smaller size, particularly the focus on one primary camper site, fosters a more intimate and friendly atmosphere. Guests often interact with the hosts and other visitors, creating a sense of community, as evidenced by meeting "great people today out in the pool."
Attention to Detail and Fun Extras: From "great background music" to seasonal fireworks and unexpected delights like breakfast pizza, the hosts clearly put effort into creating a fun and memorable experience, going beyond basic campground amenities.
Proximity to EAA AirVenture: For those attending the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Camp Feggestad offers a unique and quieter alternative to larger, more crowded camping areas, while still being conveniently located near the event.
Given the unique and personalized nature of Camp Feggestad, which appears to operate on a more intimate scale with a single primary camper site, formal "promotions" in the traditional sense might not be widely advertised. However, the true "special offer" of Camp Feggestad lies in its exceptional value derived from the unique blend of amenities and the unparalleled hospitality of its hosts, all at what is implied to be a reasonable rate.
Based on the reviews, the value comes from:
Inclusive Activities: The wide array of activities like the pool, playground, petting zoo, shooting ranges, and interactive animal experiences are likely included in the stay, offering significant entertainment value.
Personalized Touches: Invitations to dinner, breakfast pizza, and the overall welcoming atmosphere from the hosts are "special offers" that enhance the experience significantly, often free of charge as part of their hospitality.

They only have one camper site here but it is within walking distance of the pool and playground and had a 30 amp hookup. They also have a trap shoot range and rifle range and petting zoo for the kids. The hosts were very nice and invited us to dinner. We had fun and will come back.
So much fun. Nice grounds. Owners made a breakfast Pizza this morning. Wonderful time and great background music. Fireworks tonight, we can't wait! Range was fun, shot some trap and targets. Site was full, met some great people today out in the pool. They let the kids go in the chicken coup to fetch eggs and feed them. I guess new this year they added an aquarium teaming with all sorts of colorful fish. Kids got to feed the crabs in the aquarium with some cool tools. I could go on. Perfect... We'll be back. Happy fourth everyone!
Our 5th year back! We stayed in one our favorite cabin rooms. Very clean. Awesome handgun range and fun time on the trap range! Owners hosted us for breakfast. Loved the pool! Even got a shirt & personalized yeti at the new merchandise store.
Amazing views! Lots for the kids to do! We'll be back!
The Owner's children are a little too rowdy and like to misbehave. Would not recommend.
