Really nice RV park. Had plenty of activities to do. RV spots were well groomed, laid out and level. Utility hook ups were nicely located and convenient. Had a great view of the stocked catch and release pond. Caught a real nice catfish. Definitely will be going back.
We were lucky to get site #5. Right in front of the pond/lake. Loved the view and all the ducks. Everything is clean, and the campers are kind and curious. We were here for trade days. We were located close by but too far for walking. Didn't use the pool but it looked nice.
We love to stop at this KOA RV Park. We stay here at least twice a year on our way to and from our winter home in southern Texas. The BBQ and beer are a wonderful addition after long day on the road.
Alright, let me tell you about my absolutely ridiculous stay at the Canton KOA Campground, where I nearly got into a fistfight with a seven-foot-tall, half-man, half-mantis creature. So, I roll in, expecting the usual KOA experience—decent campsites, overly cheerful retirees in RVs, and maybe a raccoon trying to rob me. Everything was fine until nightfall, when I started hearing this weird clicking noise from the woods. At first, I thought, Great, some giant mutant cicada is gonna ruin my sleep. But oh no—this was much, much worse. I step outside with my flashlight, thinking I’ll just shoo away whatever’s making the noise. Big mistake. Right at the tree line, I see it. Tall. Lanky. Bug-eyed. More legs than any reasonable man should have. It looked like Jeff Goldblum from The Fly but somehow worse. It cocked its weird, mantis-like head at me and clicked its creepy little claws together like it was about to ask me for a cigarette. Then, in the most unsettling, raspy voice, it says: “You don’t belong here.” Excuse me? I paid for this campsite, buddy! So I did what any reasonable person would do—I froze like a deer in headlights and let out a noise that I can only describe as a deflating balloon mixed with a dying goat. The Mantis-Man just stood there, tilting his head, probably wondering if I was having a medical emergency. And honestly? I might have been. Then, in an act of bravery (or sheer panic), I threw the only weapon I had—a half-eaten hot dog—directly at his face. It bounced off his weird bug exoskeleton, and I swear he looked offended. That was enough for me. I ran back to my camper, locked the doors (as if that would stop a seven-foot insectoid nightmare), and got the hell out of there. So, yeah. Canton KOA? Great amenities, clean bathrooms, solid WiFi. Just maybe watch out for the humanoid praying mantis that haunts the woods.
