Caves Campground focuses on providing comfort and convenience within its unique glamping framework. While not a traditional RV park with full hookups at every site, its services are tailored to its distinct offerings:
- Unique Accommodation Options: The campground primarily offers glamping units such as tipis, yurts, and potentially rustic cabins, each providing a more comfortable and furnished experience than typical tent camping.
- Heating and Comfort Amenities: Reviews confirm that even in cold weather (e.g., "mid February"), guests in tipis were "provided heaters... and heated blankets that kept us nice n' cozy," indicating a commitment to guest comfort regardless of the season.
- Primitive Facilities (Implied): While the comfort amenities are noted, the overall context of "camping" and the unique structures suggest that some facilities might be more rustic than a full-service hotel, such as shared bathroom facilities. Further inquiry is recommended for exact details on bathrooms and water access.
- Access to Natural Features: The campground implicitly offers access to its grounds, including "hiking to the waterfall" and "exploring the grounds," which are key activities for guests.
- On-Site Management/Staff: The positive reviews about the stay suggest there is on-site staff to assist guests with needs, such as providing heating supplies.
Given the specific nature of glamping, it's always advisable to confirm the exact amenities included with each type of accommodation (e.g., bedding, cooking facilities, private vs. shared bathrooms) directly with the campground.
Caves Campground stands out due to several compelling features and highlights that make it a desirable destination for Ohio locals:
- Unique Glamping Experiences: The availability of tipis, yurts, and cabins offers a memorable and distinct camping experience that is more comfortable and novel than traditional tent camping. This is a major draw for those seeking something different.
- Beautiful Waterfall On-Site/Nearby: A significant highlight is its location "beside a beautiful waterfall," providing a stunning natural attraction right within easy reach for guests to explore and enjoy.
- Secluded & Peaceful Environment: Reviews indicate that guests enjoyed having "the camp ground to ourselves" during their visit, suggesting a quiet and serene atmosphere ideal for relaxation and escaping daily stress. This offers a sense of privacy often desired in nature retreats.
- Year-Round Appeal: The provision of heaters and heated blankets for cold-weather stays means the campground is enjoyable even in winter, opening up opportunities for unique seasonal experiences (e.g., winter hiking to the waterfall).
- Proximity to Amish Country: Its location "about 40 minutes from Amish country" is a major draw, allowing guests to combine their nature retreat with cultural exploration, visiting charming towns and supporting local businesses.
- Hiking Opportunities: The ability to "access the entire trail network nearby" and "hiking to the waterfall" highlights excellent opportunities for outdoor activity and exploring the natural landscape.
- Scenic Grounds: The general description of "exploring the grounds" implies a visually appealing and interesting natural setting.
- Responsive & Attentive Service: The fact that guests were "provided heaters" and "heated blankets" proactively speaks to a management team that is attentive to guest comfort and needs.
As a unique glamping destination, Caves Campground may not offer "promotions" in the same way as a large chain. However, opportunities for value might include:
- Off-Season Rates: Staying during non-peak times (e.g., late fall, winter, early spring) might offer more competitive rates or greater availability, while still enjoying the comfort of heated accommodations.
- Mid-Week Discounts: Weekday stays are often less expensive than weekend stays and can provide a more secluded experience, as noted by reviewers who enjoyed having the campground to themselves.
- Package Deals: The campground might occasionally offer packages that bundle accommodation with local activities or experiences, especially given its proximity to Amish Country.
- Group Booking Discounts: For larger groups or multiple unit rentals, inquiring about group rates could be beneficial.
It is always best to directly contact Caves Campground to inquire about current rates, seasonal specials, or any unique packages they may be offering. Their staff can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Customer Reviews
Granted we went camping in the tipi mid February, it was cold but we still had a blast. Hiking to the waterfall, exploring the grounds and enjoying the camp ground to ourselves. We were provided heaters for the tipi and heated blankets that kept us nice n' cozy. We definitely look forward to returning in the summer!
My husband and I stayed 3 nights and had a great time. It was about 40 minutes from Amish country and beside a beautiful waterfall.
Amazing little gem in Ohio. Great place to get away, relax, and enjoy the outdoors!
It was good. Nice river, small waterfall. Stayed in 1 of 2 tepees
Reserved a campsite through HipCamp. They show only two sites available to book. The first one being called One on the Shore and the second site listed as just #2. We reserved “One on the Shore” only to arrive and someone was in the site that we reserved. Upon contacting the owner he said that we could choose any other site. Which they do have about 12 sites up near the entrance and the sites on further back are for their seasonal campers. We were pretty upset as we had been looking at this HipCamp for awhile and was excited to be on the shore of the river. The other sites put us either right up against the people who set up in our site, on down from them near some old teepees or back away from the river on the other side of the driveway. I did notice their “original” listing had several reviews and then a not so good one about bugs. The original HipCamp listing was then taken down with all the reviews and all of the reviewers pics and then a new one was put up with only a handful of photos. I should’ve known to not book here just from that alone. But alas…we will never book here again. Very misleading and also deceptive. One should get the campsite that they booked. Sure we could’ve picked one of the other sites, but it’s not what we paid for. It appears as it’s basically first come first serve even though the listing makes it seem like you either have site 1 or site 2 to choose from. Hopefully our money is refunded...
