Best place for vacation for a rustic stay! My family has been coming for many years and wouldn't want to go anywhere else! The owner is the very best, the location is perfect, the price can't be beat!
My own experiences.... Oh the memories I have that I could share. 50+ years my family, from 4 generations now, have been coming here!!! It's a annual family vacation that's taken place since well... Forever! It's the best location you could ask for!! Not to close but yet not to far. The St Mary's right outside the door. The views, the wildlife, the adventures, the beauty of what Michigan truly is, all exists right outside the door of the cutest rustic cabins you ever did see. With a place to park your vehicle and bring your boat with you. (Boat launch down the road, docks located at cabin front) You only need to bring your clothes and toiletries. Can accommodate large or small groups. Make sure to tell him all parties coming so he can put you in the right cabin. Bunk beds are in some but are big enough to fit 2 adults in each. (Yes, that's right 2 full adults in bunk beds) They have electricity, water, bathrooms, laundry(ask for details), wifi (kindly iffy, but your on vkay. Who cares), stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, everything you need except the food. Just a few miles away is the Sault! Easy to get to and easy to get anywhere you want to go from here as well. Many things to do around here or in a drivable distance. The locks are a 20 min drive or longer because you'll probably enjoy the views and drive slow. Lol. It's a one of a kind place, which I consider part of my HOME!!! The owner is a wonderful man and very very kind and hard working. He's lived his life doing this and I'm truly grateful to know him. He's done many things through the years to make the place better and better. Very reasonable weekly rates as well. You won't find anything better on the water. Even has an option to rent the pontoon(ask when calling). There's cabins to rent but also can ask about a tent space if you really wanted to. (Be warned if you do and it rains, you may get a Lil wet, be prepared) Honestly I could go on and on. Like I stated this place is a part of my home and I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone looking for that one in a million, hole in the wall, place!!!! You won't regret it. 2 miles down the road you will also find one of the best views of the ships passing by and if your lucky the northern lights may just show you there spectacular colors!!! I hope this helped anyone with questions. You will love it!!!
I went to this place as a child with my grandparents and family. It was owned by my cousins which I believe have passed away. In 1983 and 84 my mother sister and I actually lived in Cabin 6. Minimal indoor plumbing. so you had to go out to the shower facilities to go to the bathroom or take a shower. If you want that rustic campout feel this is the place for you. It hasn't changed in 40 years.
Owners are wonderful people, the Freighters going by are amazing, lots of chance to catch variety of fish. We've tried a couple others, but since finding this place, have been going for several years. Just love it here😍😍😍
The time has stopped! Peace and quiet.. Dog friendly...Owners are a gem..Shelters aren't the Ritz, but we came for fishing and memories... We are already making plans to come back.. This is a real Blessing.
