For RV enthusiasts and travelers exploring the heart of Oklahoma, finding a convenient and accommodating place to park your home-on-wheels is essential. Council Road RV Park in Oklahoma City presents itself as an option for those seeking a spot in the metro area. Whether you're in town for a quick visit, a few weeks, or planning a longer-term stay, understanding the offerings and realities of any RV park is key to a smooth experience. This article aims to provide a factual and engaging overview of Council Road RV Park, drawing on publicly available information to help you determine if it aligns with your specific needs as a local Oklahoman.
RV parks in bustling cities like Oklahoma City serve a diverse clientele, from temporary visitors to those establishing a more permanent base. Factors like location, pricing structure, and the overall atmosphere play significant roles in a resident's satisfaction. We’ll delve into these aspects for Council Road RV Park to give you a clearer picture.
Council Road RV Park is strategically located at 8108 SW 8th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73128, USA. This address places it within the western part of Oklahoma City, a key area for accessibility and convenience. Its proximity to major highways, as highlighted by a customer review noting it's "locate right off the highway easy to find," is a significant advantage for RV travelers. This ensures that even large rigs can navigate to and from the park with relative ease, minimizing stress upon arrival and departure.
Being situated in Oklahoma City, the state capital and largest city, means residents have access to a vast array of urban amenities. From diverse dining options and extensive shopping centers to healthcare facilities, entertainment venues, and employment opportunities, everything is within reasonable driving distance. The park's location offers a balance: while it's close to the city's resources, it aims to maintain a quiet atmosphere, providing a functional base for exploring all that OKC has to offer or for conducting daily life in the metro area.
Council Road RV Park appears to offer a range of services aimed at accommodating both short-term and long-term RV residents. Based on common RV park offerings and customer feedback, the following services are likely provided:
RV Site Rentals: The primary service is the provision of individual RV sites. These sites are expected to include essential hookups for water, electricity (typically 30 and 50 amp options), and sewer connections, enabling full functionality for your RV.
Flexible Stay Durations: The park offers various options for stay lengths, including "day to day or week to week or month to month." This flexibility caters to a wide range of needs, from temporary stopovers to extended residences.
Mail Services: A key service highlighted in a positive review is the availability of "mail services," which is a significant convenience for long-term RVers who require a stable address for receiving correspondence and packages.
On-Site Management: While the nature of management interaction is a point of contention in reviews, the presence of an office or management team implies handling of reservations, rule enforcement, and addressing resident concerns, albeit with varying degrees of satisfaction depending on the situation.
Prospective residents should always confirm specific details about included utilities, any additional fees (e.g., for pets, extra vehicles), and the exact nature of their mail services, to ensure full transparency regarding their stay.
Council Road RV Park possesses several features that contribute to its appeal, while also presenting aspects that prospective residents should carefully consider:
Quiet Environment (for some): One positive review highlights the park as "nice clean quite," indicating that many residents find the atmosphere peaceful, which is a valuable trait for an RV park, especially within a city setting.
Cleanliness: The park is described as "nice clean," suggesting a focus on maintaining a tidy environment for residents.
Convenient Highway Access: Its location "right off the highway" makes it exceptionally easy to find and access, which is a significant plus for travelers and those who frequently move their RV.
Flexible Stay Options: The availability of daily, weekly, and monthly rates provides great flexibility for different travel plans and budgetary needs.
Mail Services: As previously mentioned, offering mail services is a key benefit, especially for long-term RVers who need a reliable way to receive mail.
However, it is crucial to address serious concerns raised in one detailed review:
Strict and Potentially Unforgiving Policies: A significant highlight of concern is the management's rigid enforcement of payment deadlines. A resident reported severe consequences (dogs taken, vehicle towed, attempt to tow camper) just five days after a payment due date, despite having a long residency (almost 3 years) and open communication about medical issues.
Perceived Lack of Empathy/Peace: The experience described by a long-term resident suggests a lack of compassion from management during a difficult personal time, directly contradicting the idea of a "peaceful" living environment. The statement, "If you're looking for a place to feel at peace even for a night, go elsewhere," is a strong warning.
Aggressive Enforcement Tactics: The immediate and drastic measures taken (animal welfare involvement, towing) for a relatively short payment delay indicate an aggressive approach to policy enforcement.
Prospective residents are strongly advised to thoroughly review the park's rules, especially regarding payment terms, late fees, and eviction/towing policies, and consider the potential implications of unforeseen circumstances, particularly if planning a long-term stay.
The provided information touches on pricing flexibility rather than specific promotions or discounts. Council Road RV Park offers various pricing structures based on the length of your stay:
Daily Rates
Weekly Rates
Month-to-Month Rates: The park highlights that monthly rates offer "savings and undeniably some of the best." One reviewer mentioned a monthly lot rent of $650, although they personally paid $1200 a month due to medical issues and having to pay nightly, which suggests potential variations in pricing or circumstances.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, what is included in each rate tier, any security deposits, and specific payment policies, it is essential to contact Council Road RV Park directly. Inquire about the full cost breakdown to ensure complete transparency before making a reservation, especially for extended stays.

For Oklahomans seeking an RV park in Oklahoma City, Council Road RV Park presents itself as an option with notable advantages, particularly its location and flexibility. Its position "right off the highway" makes it incredibly accessible for those traveling with RVs, offering a quick and easy find within the bustling metro area. The availability of daily, weekly, and month-to-month rates provides significant flexibility, catering to a diverse range of needs, from short visits to establishing a more extended base.
Furthermore, the offering of "mail services" is a substantial benefit for long-term RVers who require a stable mailing address. For many, the reported "nice clean quite" environment is a highly desirable quality, promising a peaceful retreat after navigating city life.
However, it is absolutely critical for prospective residents to be fully aware of and carefully consider the serious concerns raised in one detailed review regarding management's policies and enforcement. The description of severe consequences for a relatively short payment delay, including the involvement of animal welfare and vehicle towing, even for a long-term resident facing medical issues, paints a picture of a strict and potentially unforgiving management approach. This aspect directly contradicts the expectation of finding "peace" and suggests a need for extreme vigilance regarding payment deadlines and park rules. While some residents clearly find the park suitable and appreciate its attributes, others have experienced significant distress due to what they perceive as a lack of understanding and disproportionate actions.
Therefore, while Council Road RV Park offers appealing conveniences like location, cleanliness, and flexible stay options, its suitability for local Oklahomans hinges entirely on their individual tolerance for strict rule enforcement and their comfort level with potential lack of leniency in challenging circumstances. It is strongly recommended that any interested party thoroughly review all park rules, especially those pertaining to payments, late fees, and eviction policies, and seek clarification on any ambiguities directly from management before committing to a stay, particularly if planning a long-term residency.
Customer Reviews
Nice clean quite we got a month here we love it it's locate right off the highway easy to find they do day to day or week to week or month to month the savings and undeniably some ok of the best. I would definitely recommend staying here are there in the area looking for a month-to-month with mail services this will be the spot
I paid $1200 a month for 3 months due to medical issues and having to pay nightly . Lot rent is $650 a month. The second I became late they had my dogs taken to animal welfare (my boy got sick while in there and he passed two nights ago). They had my vehicle towed. And asked to have my camper towed as well but the city refused. I was 5 days late when they started harassing me. I had paid well over his monthly lot rent and was very open with the office about my situation. I lived there for almost 3 years. If you're looking for a place to feel at peace even for a night, go elsewhere.
Love this RV Park! We were looking for something accessible to the city as we are big bike riders. This park is right on the bike trail to the city. Sites are really close to each other but not a big deal to us. They have a good weekly rate, laundry, WI-FI, cable and easy W/S/E hookups. And best of all SUPER NICE STAFF! Would absolutely return!
This is a great place to stay. It is in a good location off the highway, clean and nice and peaceful. There are also laundry facilities, restrooms, and showers available. The staff is AMAZING!!! Amanda at the front office; Mark with maintenance; and Jim the owner. They take great care of you!! This is definitely a great place to stop in and check out. They do long-term and overnight stays.
Nice folks running this park. Price is reasonable and especially the weekly rate, which is roughly the equivalent of 5 regular days rather than 6 (which most parks charge). Sites are basic, but everything works including wifi. The park is located across the street from a truck stop, so there is some of that type of noise to deal with. I plan to stay here again.
