Elk River Floats & Wayside Campground is ideally situated at 201 Minnow Springs Ave, Noel, MO 64854, USA. This location places it directly in Noel, a well-known hub for outdoor recreation, particularly along the famed Elk River in Southwest Missouri. The town of Noel itself is a popular destination for those seeking to enjoy the natural beauty and floating opportunities of the Ozarks.

The campground's address provides good accessibility for visitors traveling from various parts of Missouri and surrounding states. While not directly on a major interstate, it is typically accessible via state highways, making the journey feasible for most vehicles, including those towing campers or RVs. For example, larger cities like Joplin, MO, are roughly an hour's drive to the north, and the growing metropolitan areas of Northwest Arkansas, such as Bentonville and Fayetteville, are also within a reasonable driving distance. This geographical advantage makes Elk River Floats & Wayside Campground a convenient escape for both weekend trips and longer vacations for a wide range of visitors.

A significant aspect of its location is its direct proximity and access to the Elk River. Being positioned along the river means guests have straightforward entry points for launching float trips, swimming, and fishing, which are primary activities for visitors to the area. This immediate access enhances the overall convenience and enjoyment of a stay here.

The campground's specific placement on Minnow Springs Ave may offer a degree of separation from the busiest sections of Noel, though it remains integral to the town's river-focused tourism. The surrounding area, while primarily rural and scenic, offers basic local services in Noel, such as gas stations and small eateries. For more extensive shopping or dining experiences, larger towns in the vicinity could be explored, though many guests might find the campground's own amenities sufficient for their needs. This blend of accessible location and direct river proximity makes Elk River Floats & Wayside Campground a practical and appealing choice for Missouri's outdoor and river enthusiasts.

When planning a trip to Elk River Floats & Wayside Campground, understanding any potential promotions or special offers is a key consideration, especially for groups and families. While specific, active promotions are not detailed in the provided customer reviews, campgrounds and float trip outfitters in the Missouri Ozarks commonly offer various incentives.

Based on the nature of the business (catering to large groups and float trips) and general industry practices, potential promotions or special offers that guests might inquire about could include:

  • Group Discounts for Cabins and Floats: Given the availability of large cabins (18-person, 6-person) and the focus on group experiences, it is highly probable that the campground offers tiered discounts for larger groups booking multiple cabins or a significant number of float trip rentals. It's always advisable to ask about special group rates for family reunions, corporate outings, or friend gatherings.
  • Mid-Week Specials: While the campground is popular on weekends, many resorts offer reduced rates for camping or float trips on weekdays (Monday through Thursday) to encourage visits during less busy periods. This can be a great way to experience the facilities at a lower cost and potentially with fewer crowds.
  • Multi-Night Stay Discounts: For longer stays, some campgrounds provide a slight discount per night, particularly if you're booking cabins or RV sites for several consecutive nights.
  • Package Deals (Camping + Floating): It is common for campgrounds that also offer float trip services to provide bundled packages. For example, a "Cabin & Float Package" could offer a combined discount for booking a cabin and a certain number of float trip rentals together.
  • Early Bird Booking Incentives: For popular weekends and holidays, booking well in advance might sometimes come with a small perk, or at the very least, guarantees availability during peak times.
  • Return Customer Loyalty: The review indicating annual visits suggests that the "amazing hosts" might informally recognize and reward repeat customers, even if a formal loyalty program isn't advertised. It's always worth mentioning if you're a returning guest.
  • Special Event or Holiday Packages: For major holidays or local events, some resorts create specific packages that combine lodging, float trips, and perhaps special activities.

OMG Wayside camp ground...I'm so disappointed in this place! We had a group of 18 people traveled 4 hours to get treated so rudely! Yes the rain came , the water was rising but was never told to evacuate only suggested. One of the staff came out in the water where we were at and said we had 20 min. before they would make a decision to evacuate and we would have an hour and a half to pack up and leave so be ready. His attitude was disgusting he had no communication skills. We started walking towards the shore out of the water and told us to turn our music off. I told him if he wanted us out of the water just tell us that. The way he looked at me and spoke was uncalled for. Couple of us went to the office to find out the status of the situation about an hour or so later because we never heard over the PA anything about leaving, when we asked if we are being evacuated they said no but suggest we do. Never told to leave still at this point. We decided to stay along with about 6 other RVs that stayed. 4 Hours went by, at 9 my son and his friends saw 3 of the staff picking up tables and went to ask if they could help them and one of the staff said you could help us and just leave. Within 5 minutes we had no power. They shut the electricity off without even telling us. They wanted us to leave but would not tell us we had to. It was dark, our slide outs on RV were open, we had 6 tents up and yes we did pack up some of our things to be ready when asked to leave or being told we needed to evacuate. We asked if we could have power to get the RV slides back in and said we had 5 minutes and that's all we got. All 6 familys arrived home safely at 3 am thank god!! I dont know if this is a process they do so that no refunds are given out. They want people to make that choice to leave on their own so no refunds are given out. We were forced to leave and so we were refunded. I love the COOP just sad that it has to be held at this place for some odd reason.! Well that's MY story.....good luck!!!! PS something fishy with the money flow over there at the Coop but that's not my story.

I want to start out by saying the float itself was great. The staff was friendly. Everything was organized. The bus was prompt in picking up and dropping off. Overall very fun and smooth experience with the actual river rafting float trip. I’m only giving 2 stars because of the housing accommodations. We stayed at the Wayside House. It was in extremely rough condition. The pictures on the website must have been taken several years ago because it looks nothing like depicted. There is extensive overall wear and tear with scuff marks and damage to the walls, cracking plaster, settling of the floors, etc. The house advertises it sleeps 10 but two of the pull out beds were broken and we were not made aware of that before our stay. When we notified the office they said they weren’t aware of that but the damage did not appear new to me. Perhaps nobody reported it before. There are no picnic tables outside like depicted (just one glass patio set in which the chairs and tables are not stable). We could not find any smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors as advertised on the website. Multiple outlets do not work. One room had no working light switches. The kitchen sink leaks and there is a coffee canister underneath catching dirty water that smells horrid and that cabinet is full of black mold. The bathroom sink is missing a hot water handle. None of the bathroom doors completely shut or lock, in fact one of the doors drags on the floor due to warping and it’s extremely hard to open and shut at all. There is a large sheet of plywood on the floor in one of the bedrooms that appears to be covering a large hole in the floor of some sort. There are several light switch covers with holes in them and the wiring is exposed. Overall it was extremely dirty and gross. Again when I called the office to express my concerns they said they had no idea and no one had complained before. I find that hard to believe because the extent of the damage to the house looks like it’s been this way for a very long time. I will include pictures. I just want to write this so everyone can be aware of what they are walking into.

I have floated with Elk River Floats and Wayside for 20 years and always had a great experience. I wanted to post these photos in response to the unfair review left by Rebecca Terry. Don't get the wrong idea from someone who was leaving a review simply because they were mad they didnt pay attention and suffered the consequences. If you simply follow the rules and check in upon entering the property, instead of helping yourself to the river access and parking (trespassing) you will have a great experience. These are 5 signs she drove past, including the signage of the towing company. They are placed at the entrance to the property. 🤷‍♀️

We stayed at Off the deep end. The cabin was super clean. It had a grill on site with propane and grill utinsles. Already had toilet paper and hand soap in the bathroom. River entry, and very private through there. Quiet for the most part, but it is right by the train tracks. If that doesn't bother you I would say go for it!!! The bar in Noel is also walking distance away.
