Eagles Nest Camp & Canoe is conveniently located at 53 Eagle Nest Ln, Noel, MO 64854, USA. This address places it squarely in the heart of Missouri's Elk River country, specifically in the charming area known as Ginger Blue, nestled between the towns of Noel and Pineville. This region of Southwest Missouri is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, including rolling hills, lush forests, and, most importantly, the crystal-clear waters of the Elk River.
The accessibility of Eagles Nest is a significant advantage for campers and floaters from across Missouri and surrounding states. While tucked away to offer a peaceful retreat, it's still within reasonable driving distance of major population centers. For instance, Joplin, MO, is roughly an hour's drive north, while Northwest Arkansas cities like Fayetteville and Bentonville are also easily accessible, making it a popular destination for those seeking a quick escape to nature.
Reaching the campground typically involves navigating scenic rural roads, which are part of the charm of visiting this area. Visitors should be aware that some routes may involve crossing a low-water bridge, and larger RVs might need to follow specific directions to avoid challenging turns, as sometimes noted by past visitors. It's always a good idea to consult current road conditions or contact the campground for specific directions if you're driving a large vehicle.
Once at Eagles Nest, guests find themselves with easy access to the Elk River, which is a primary draw. The community's location provides multiple entry points to the river for swimming, fishing, and launching float trips. Beyond the immediate riverside activities, the area surrounding Noel offers various local attractions. These can include exploring small-town shops, dining at local eateries, or visiting nearby natural landmarks such as Huckleberry Ridge Conservation Area, Big Sugar Creek State Park, and Bluff Dwellers Cave, offering additional opportunities for outdoor exploration and learning. The blend of a serene riverfront setting with convenient access to regional attractions makes Eagles Nest a well-located hub for Ozarks adventures.

Customer Reviews
We stayed for three nights. The camp sites are clean. The bathhouse is less than desirable.. I'd rather "go" in the woods. Thankfully, I have my own bathroom in my camper. There are no amenities such as laundry or playground areas. Just basic campsites. Most of the sites are pretty close together. Checkout is 10 a.m. .most places we've camped checkout is 11. They sell ice at the office, but it really high. Be sure to grab your ice before you come! We celebrated our cousin's birthday by hanging out at the river most of the day. It was truly an all day "party". I would NOT recommend this spot for kids. Most everyone was drinking. The smell of pot was frequent. Not judging.. just being honest. There was also the showing of breasts for beads. No biggie to me. Just a heads up if you are bringing children.
I really loved this campground. We had a bit of an issue with timing with the canoe trip but that was due to some miscommunication caused by weather uncertainty. This place is nestled in a beautiful location along the Elk River. Having the river behind my tent was dreamy. Plenty of beaches to swim if not floating. The place is clean and relatively quiet at night for a weekend. Very family oriented. Bathrooms are clean, and just what you expect in a camp. Hot water for a nice shower available. Outside sink for washing other things. I was tent camping, but there was plenty of RV space from what I could see. I'm planning on going back. This place is great even if you're not planning on canoeing. But if you are... they even pick you up at your camp site area! How great is that!!
I'd tell you about the experience but they canceled on us the morning of the trip. Edit since owner replied. We weren't scheduled to go when the river was flooded. We actually went to the river, Oct. 28th and were to float on Oct. 29th. Your website allows people to book when it's "off-season." We are now waiting for the money we were charged to be returned to us. If you're closed for the season, your website should reflect that and not allow people to book. At the very least, don't take the money out of our account.
I loved this place. Very clean. Staff was very friendly. We got picked up right at our campsite for our float that was pretty cool.
Buses were late, shower heads were rusty and barely worked, customer service wasn’t at all what I expected. Camp ground was clean and beautiful. It’s literally next to the railroad tracks and you hear trains coming and going. I will not be back. Two sons camping were cleaning up the whole river and were super helpful when they didn’t have to be. IF i ever go back I’ll be staying there. Or riverside.
