Las Garzas About
For those of us in Missouri looking for a place to truly unwind and create lasting memories with our loved ones, Las Garzas in Noel offers a unique opportunity. This campground aims to be a haven where families can relax, enjoy the natural beauty of our state, and have fun together. Nestled in Noel, it presents itself as a destination where the focus is on a leisurely pace and the joy of shared experiences in the great outdoors.
Las Garzas strives to be more than just a place to set up camp; it's envisioned as a spot where the simple pleasures of nature and family time can flourish. While every campground has its unique characteristics, Las Garzas appears to prioritize a relaxing environment suitable for families seeking a break from the everyday. We understand the importance of finding a reliable and enjoyable spot for your next family adventure, and we'll delve into what makes Las Garzas a noteworthy option in Missouri, from its location and accessibility to its available services and features, providing you with the insights you need to plan your visit.
Las Garzas is located at 350 Latinos Park Ln, Noel, MO 64854, USA. This address places it within Noel, a small town in McDonald County, Missouri, known for its scenic natural surroundings, particularly its proximity to the Elk River. For us Missourians, this location suggests a setting that offers a degree of seclusion and a connection to the natural landscape, making it appealing for those seeking a break from urban environments.
The accessibility to Las Garzas generally involves navigating typical Missouri roads, which are usually well-maintained. Noel itself is a relatively small community, meaning the roads leading to the campground should be manageable for various vehicle types, though it's always wise to exercise caution, especially during or after inclement weather. Being situated in a more rural area, the immediate vicinity of the campground likely offers a tranquil atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of major highways.
However, it's important to set expectations regarding the ground conditions within the campground itself. Based on feedback, there might be areas where the gravel is soft, potentially causing vehicles to sink. This suggests that while getting to the general area of Noel is straightforward, careful navigation within the campground property might be necessary, particularly for larger vehicles or during wet conditions. Being prepared for varied terrain within the campground is advisable. Despite potential challenges within the park's internal roads, the location in Noel provides access to the natural beauty of the region, allowing for activities related to the nearby Elk River, which is a popular spot for floating and fishing. This balance of a natural setting with reasonable external accessibility makes Las Garzas a consideration for Missouri locals looking for a relaxed outdoor experience.
Based on the provided information, Las Garzas appears to offer a somewhat rustic camping experience focused on providing a space for family relaxation and fun, rather than extensive amenities typically found in more developed campgrounds.
Campsites for Relaxation and Fun: The primary service provided is a designated space for camping, described as a "good place to go and relax, and have fun with all the family." This implies pitches for tents or potentially RVs, allowing guests to set up their own equipment for an outdoor stay.
Access to Natural Surroundings: Being located in Noel, near the Elk River, the campground implicitly offers access to the surrounding natural environment, which would likely include opportunities for outdoor activities typical of the area, such as fishing or river-based recreation.
Restroom Facilities (with caveats): While restroom facilities are present, it is crucial to note that one review describes them as "disgusting" with an "awful" smell, leading a visitor to avoid using them. This indicates that while available, their condition may be a significant concern for some campers. It's recommended that visitors consider bringing their own sanitation solutions or be prepared for very basic and potentially unhygienic facilities.
No Showers (Implied): The review specifically states, "Forget about showering. We drove 30 minutes to the nearest Love's truckstop and took showers." This strongly suggests that showers are not available on-site at Las Garzas, or if they are, their condition is severely lacking. Campers should plan accordingly for personal hygiene.
Assistance for Stuck Vehicles (Implied): One review mentions that cars were sinking in the gravel and required "5 guys to help push them out." While not a formal service, this suggests that if issues arise with vehicle mobility on the property, there might be a willingness among staff or fellow campers to offer assistance, though this is not a guaranteed or advertised service.
Given these points, Las Garzas appears to be a very basic campground, and potential visitors should arrive fully self-sufficient and with realistic expectations about the level of amenities provided.
Las Garzas, while appearing to offer a basic camping experience, does possess some unique features that could appeal to a specific type of camper, particularly those prioritizing a relaxed family atmosphere over extensive amenities.
Family-Oriented Atmosphere: The most positive highlight explicitly mentioned is its suitability as "a good place to go and relax, and have fun with all the family." This suggests that the campground fosters an environment conducive to family bonding and shared enjoyment in an outdoor setting.
Tranquil and Relaxing Environment (Implied): Despite some operational challenges, the overall sentiment that it's a place to "relax" indicates that the natural surroundings and general ambiance contribute to a peaceful escape from daily life, at least for some visitors.
Potential for Seclusion: Being in a more rural area like Noel, the campground likely offers a sense of being away from urban noise and crowds, which can be a significant highlight for those seeking solitude and a natural escape.
Proximity to Natural Attractions: While not directly stated, a campground in Noel, Missouri, is inherently close to the Elk River, a popular destination for floating, fishing, and other water-based activities. This geographical advantage is a key feature for outdoor enthusiasts.
However, it is crucial to address certain notable challenges that also act as "features" of the experience, as highlighted by a detailed review:
Pest Issues (Cockroaches): A significant concern raised is the presence of cockroaches, which were reportedly "everywhere" and even found their way into vehicles. This is a critical factor for hygiene and comfort that potential visitors must be aware of.
Subpar Restroom Conditions: The restroom facilities are described as "disgusting" and malodorous, to the point where a reviewer opted to drive elsewhere for sanitation. This is a major detractor for many campers.
Soft Gravel and Vehicle Mobility Issues: Cars reportedly sank in the gravel, requiring manual assistance to get unstuck. This indicates potentially challenging ground conditions for vehicles, especially after rain or for heavier RVs.
Train Noise: The proximity to train tracks, with trains incessantly blowing their horns every 45 minutes "ALL NIGHT LONG," is a significant source of noise pollution and disruption, making a peaceful night's sleep very difficult.
Given these points, the primary highlight of Las Garzas appears to be its potential as a family gathering spot in a natural setting, but potential visitors must be prepared for very rustic conditions, significant noise, and potential hygiene issues.
Based on the provided customer reviews and the nature of the campground, there is no public information available to suggest that Las Garzas offers specific "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as discounts, seasonal deals, or loyalty programs. Many smaller, more rustic campgrounds like this typically focus on providing basic camping space rather than marketing intricate offers.
It is common for such establishments to have a straightforward pricing structure based on the type of site (tent, RV) or duration of stay (nightly). Any "value" or "promotion" would likely be derived from the inherent cost of camping there, or the overall experience offered.
Therefore, it's best to assume that any fees for camping at Las Garzas would be standard rates and not subject to publicly advertised discounts. If you are considering a visit, the most reliable way to inquire about any current pricing, potential multi-night deals (if any), or any other financial information would be to directly contact the campground using the provided phone number. Given the reviews, it's advisable to clarify all aspects of your stay, including pricing, amenities, and any potential issues you might have questions about, before making a commitment.

For us Missourians, evaluating a campground like Las Garzas requires a clear understanding of what we're looking for in an outdoor escape. On one hand, its suitability for locals lies in its potential as a straightforward, no-frills location designed for family relaxation and fun. If your primary goal is to gather with loved ones in a natural setting, away from the structured environment of larger parks, and your family values the simple act of being together outdoors, Las Garzas could offer that personal space. Being in Noel, it connects you to the scenic beauty of McDonald County and the Elk River, providing access to classic Missouri outdoor activities like fishing and floating. For those who prioritize a relaxed atmosphere and are prepared for a truly rustic experience, it presents an accessible option for a family gathering.
However, it's crucial for locals to set very realistic expectations based on available public feedback. The significant concerns regarding pervasive pests, highly unhygienic restroom facilities (to the point of being unusable for some), potential vehicle mobility issues on soft gravel, and frequent, loud train noise throughout the night are critical factors that will heavily influence the comfort and enjoyment of your stay. For many Missourians who seek a peaceful night's sleep or basic sanitary facilities, these issues could significantly detract from the camping experience. Therefore, Las Garzas is most suitable for highly self-sufficient campers who are prepared for extremely primitive conditions, are bringing their own comprehensive sanitation solutions, are not sensitive to noise, and prioritize a "get together with family" atmosphere above all other campground amenities and comforts. If you're an experienced primitive camper willing to overlook significant challenges for the sake of a relaxed family gathering in a natural setting, this spot might work for you. Otherwise, it's advisable to consider your priorities carefully before planning a trip here.
Customer Reviews
It's a good place to go and relax, and have fun with all the family.
One word...COCKROACHES!!!! They were everywhere and some even road home with us!! We had to clean the car out and leave EVERYTHING outside for a couple days...we even went to the laundromat and washed everything before bringing it into the house. We luckily didn't get any in our house because of all the precautions we took, but it was a such a pain!!! The bathrooms were disgusting, the smell was awful!! I held it for over 15 hours and went to the bathroom at Walmart just to avoid using their facilities. Forget about showering. We drove 30 minutes to the nearest Love's truckstop and took showers. All the cars were sinking in the gravel and had to take like 5 guys to help push them out. The train tracks are just on the other side of the river and incessantly blow their horns while they pass, literally every 45 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!! I could go on and on and on!!!!! JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
Drove by beautiful place
It was great! Found just what I needed!!
