Mahoney is a bit overrated. The spots for camping in an RV are smaller than they should be and the ones we had were on such a hill there wasn't really a good spot for a fire pit. The wildlife was cool but the play equipment seemed run down and the mulch areas were overgrown. Would be ok place to camp with just a little bit of work.

Near I80 so you hear highway noise. Pads are paved and level. Most sites sloped with a few severely. Cars camping in grass because pads are not long. Good shade trees. Sites closer than most state campgrounds so it feels crowded. Lots of noisy dogs.

Pretty packed. Geared toward campers instead of tents. Not many trees in the middle of the loop. Worst of all is you can still hear the interstate traffic at night... For 25 a night, it's priced for a quick trip for families... I'd probably just head somewhere off the beaten path next time.

Peaceful and quiet. Some dust from a gravel road way up yonder, which made it a bit difficult to breathe with the smoke mixed in and all. Although there was no wind carrying the cloud of dust and smoke away? What to do?

Unfortunately, this otherwise lovely campground gets a “D-“ for no water pumps (??!!), no recycling (WTF Nebraska?), and stinky bathrooms. Up your game, darlin’s.
