Cross Keys Village About
For many Pennsylvanians, finding a comfortable, convenient, and affordable place to call home is a top priority. In the diverse housing landscape of the Keystone State, mobile home parks represent a significant option, offering a unique blend of community living and accessible homeownership. Cross Keys Village, located in Duncansville, PA, is one such community that has served residents in Blair County for some time. Understanding what a mobile home park like Cross Keys Village offers, from its location to its community dynamics, can help prospective residents in Pennsylvania make informed decisions about their housing needs.
Mobile home parks, also known as manufactured home communities, provide residents with a lot of land to place their manufactured home, often for a monthly lot rent. This model can be appealing for various reasons, including lower initial housing costs compared to traditional stick-built homes, and a sense of community often fostered by shared spaces and neighborhood events. Cross Keys Village, like other established mobile home parks, aims to offer a living environment that balances individual privacy with communal benefits. It’s a place where you might find a mix of long-term residents and newcomers, contributing to a diverse neighborhood feel.
Cross Keys Village is conveniently situated at 259 Brown Swiss Cir, Duncansville, PA 16635, USA. This location places it within Blair County, a region of central Pennsylvania known for its scenic beauty, historical significance, and a strong sense of local community. Duncansville itself is a borough that offers residents a suburban feel with access to various amenities and services.
Accessibility to Cross Keys Village is generally straightforward. For residents commuting to work or school, the community's location provides relatively easy access to major roadways in the area. Duncansville is just a short drive from Altoona, a larger city in Blair County, which serves as a regional hub for employment, shopping, dining, and healthcare facilities. This proximity means residents of Cross Keys Village can enjoy the quiet atmosphere of a smaller community while still having convenient access to urban conveniences. Public transportation options in this area of Pennsylvania can vary, so prospective residents are encouraged to investigate local bus routes or other services if personal transportation is a consideration. The community’s location in Duncansville also means it’s within reach of various recreational opportunities, including local parks, natural areas, and historical sites that dot the Pennsylvania landscape. This balance of quiet living with access to essential services and leisure activities is a key aspect of its appeal for local users in Pennsylvania.
As a mobile home park, Cross Keys Village primarily offers the leasing of lots for manufactured homes. The specific services and amenities can vary between communities, but typically include:
- Lot Rental: The core service, providing a designated plot of land where residents can place their manufactured home. This includes access to utilities (though residents are typically responsible for their own utility bills).
- Community Management: On-site or accessible management to oversee the park's operations, address resident concerns, and enforce community rules and regulations.
- Road Maintenance: As noted in a customer review, there has been "upkeep to the road through," suggesting the park management is responsible for maintaining the internal roadways within the community for easy access to homes.
- Waste Management: Typically, mobile home parks arrange for trash collection services for their residents. Specific details on recycling or bulk waste disposal would be provided by the park management.
- Basic Infrastructure: This includes the provision of essential infrastructure such as water lines, sewer systems, and electrical hookups to each lot. Residents are generally responsible for connecting their homes to these utilities and paying for their usage.
- Snow Removal (Seasonal): In Pennsylvania's winter climate, it is common for mobile home parks to offer some level of snow removal services for common areas and main roads within the community. Residents are usually responsible for clearing snow from their individual driveways and walkways.
While a mobile home park may not have the extensive recreational facilities of a larger residential development, Cross Keys Village offers specific features and highlights that contribute to its living environment:
- Quiet Neighborhood Atmosphere: One customer review highlights that "When I stop by to see friends its always calm here," indicating a peaceful and relatively quiet environment. This can be a significant draw for individuals and families seeking a serene living space away from the noise of busier urban areas.
- Established Community: As an existing mobile home park, Cross Keys Village has an established resident base, which can foster a sense of belonging and neighborly interaction.
- Affordable Housing Option: For many Pennsylvanians, manufactured homes within a park setting offer a more affordable entry point into homeownership compared to purchasing a traditional single-family home. The lower price point of the home itself, combined with lot rent, can make homeownership more attainable.
- Maintenance of Common Areas: The mention of road upkeep suggests an active management approach to maintaining the community's infrastructure, contributing to a pleasant living experience for residents.
- Location in Duncansville, PA: Its specific address provides residents with the benefits of living in Blair County, including access to local amenities, schools, and employment opportunities in Duncansville and nearby Altoona.
- Potential for Personalization: While homes adhere to certain community standards, residents generally have the ability to personalize their manufactured homes and the immediate surrounding lot, creating a living space that truly feels like their own.
As a mobile home park, Cross Keys Village generally operates on a model of lot rentals and does not typically offer public promotions or special offers in the way a retail business might. Any specific deals or incentives would be managed directly by the park's ownership or management team. These might include:
- New Resident Incentives: Occasionally, parks might offer reduced lot rent for the first few months or waive certain fees for new residents. However, this is not publicly advertised and would need to be inquired about directly.
- Referral Programs: Some communities have programs where existing residents receive a benefit for referring new residents who sign a lease.
- Seasonal Specials: Depending on market conditions or occupancy rates, there might be seasonal considerations for lot rent, but these are rare and typically not promoted widely.
Prospective residents are strongly encouraged to contact the park management directly to inquire about current lot availability, rental rates, terms of lease agreements, and any specific policies that may be in place. It is always wise to ask about all fees associated with lot rental, including any potential increases, utility responsibilities, and pet policies, to get a full understanding of the financial commitment.

Customer Reviews
These people that own the trailer court and the manager are like Nazi's DON'T LIVE THERE I REPEAT DON'T LIVE THERE. They have the highest lot rent and the highest rent for a trailer they are dishonest and they don't go by the lease agreement. I know from experience and they would take me to court and lose because they violated the lease agreement because they rule that place like Nazi's.
When I stop by to see friends its always calm here. They did some upkeep to the road through and it seems like a pleasant little neighborhood. I dont live here but if I did I wouldn't be upset.
This is a great community. It's not loud, there's no out of control pets, or awful folks. Feels like a quiet retirement community.
This place is a living nightmare. The office manager Tonya is one of the most ignorant people you will come across. Please dont live here. You will regret it!
The area is a great place. People are helpful and polite.
