The appeal of Lake Cumberland is undeniable, known as one of the largest man-made lakes east of the Mississippi, offering over 65,000 acres for exploration. Cumberland Point Campground and RV Resort capitalizes on this natural wonder, providing campers with stunning lake views and direct access to the water. As one happy camper noted, "We really enjoyed our 2 nights here. Access to the water is easy, boat ramp in campground and this is an out of the way campground run by the Corps. Real nice sites with lake views and clean bathrooms, cell service is spotty but who needs that when you are on the lake." Another reviewer praised the hosts, stating, "Red and his wife are the hosts, very friendly and informative. Their dog Dexter is adorable!" These insights underscore the park's commitment to delivering a positive experience, focusing on natural beauty, convenient amenities, and friendly service.

It is strategically positioned overlooking Lake Cumberland, offering campers sweeping scenic vistas, particularly breathtaking sunsets. The campground is well-known for its clean, well-engineered sites that are designed to maximize views and accommodate various sizes of camping vehicles, including RVs and a couple of dedicated tent sites. Each site comes equipped with essential amenities such as a picnic table, fire pit, trash pole, water, and electric hookups, ensuring a comfortable stay. The park prides itself on its cleanliness, with consistently praised clean bathrooms. A key highlight is its direct and easy access to Lake Cumberland, featuring a boat ramp within the campground for convenient launching, along with a small dock for temporary tie-ups. Aug 21, 2024 · Chris DavisFederal camp ground, mostly rv sites, they do have a couple of tent sites. The sites are cozy but well engineered to maximize views and different sizes of camping vehicles. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, trash pole, water, and electric. The boat ramp is steep but works. It has a small dock for one boat at a time to tie to. Two experienced boat launchers can use the ramp at one time. If you are camping there you can have overnight parking for your boat. Red and his wife are the hosts, very friendly and informative. Their dog Dexter is adorable!
