Dallas Ennis RV Park About

Welcome to Rusty Rail RV Park (Formerly Dallas Ennis RV Park): A Practical Stop in Ennis, Texas

For RVers traversing the expansive Texas landscape, finding a convenient and accommodating place to set up camp is always a priority. Rusty Rail RV Park, formerly known as Dallas Ennis RV Park, offers a practical and long-standing option for those seeking a spot in Ennis, Texas. Situated strategically off I-45, this park caters to both short-term visitors and long-term residents, providing essential services for a no-frills stay.

Recent changes in ownership/management have brought about a new name, Rusty Rail RV Park, and some adjustments, including reported increases in monthly rent. While it has been a home for many long-term campers for years, recent reviews highlight specific considerations, such as the park's susceptibility to flooding during heavy rains and the absence of Wi-Fi. However, guests also commend the owners and management for their support during challenging times, demonstrating a commitment to helping residents navigate unforeseen circumstances. This park offers a straightforward and accessible solution for those whose priorities align with its current offerings.

Location and Accessibility: Right Off the I-45 Corridor

Rusty Rail RV Park is prominently located at 403 I-45, Ennis, TX 75119, USA. This direct frontage on Interstate 45, a major north-south artery through Texas, makes it exceptionally easy to access for travelers. Ennis, positioned about 28 miles south of Dallas, offers a balance of small-town charm with reasonable proximity to the extensive amenities and attractions of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The park's location off the service road of I-45 means that pulling in and out with larger RVs is typically manageable. Its accessibility is a significant advantage for those on cross-state journeys or needing a quick stop. Furthermore, its placement near the "Buc-ee's exit" implies convenience to fuel, dining, and other retail options often found around major highway exits. While the proximity to the highway means some road noise is to be expected, it’s a trade-off for the unparalleled ease of access.

Services Offered: Core RV Necessities

Rusty Rail RV Park, in its current iteration, focuses on providing the fundamental services that RVers require for a comfortable stay. Based on available information and typical offerings for this type of park, you can generally expect:

  • Full Hookups: The park provides essential full hookups at each site, which typically include water, sewer, and electrical connections (both 30-amp and 50-amp are standard to accommodate a variety of RVs).

  • City Water and Sewer: A significant advantage for any RV park, the park operates on city water and sewer, indicating a reliable and well-maintained utility infrastructure.

  • Manager On-Site: The presence of an on-site manager, as noted in public descriptions, suggests readily available assistance and oversight, which can be invaluable for residents and transient guests.

  • Pet-Friendly (with caveats): While generally allowing dogs, recent reviews suggest that dedicated dog park areas or ample space for pets to roam freely might be limited, and specific rules regarding bringing dogs out could be in place.

  • Long-Term Stays Available: The park is well-known for accommodating long-term residents, with many campers staying for years, indicating a focus on stability and community for those seeking extended stays.

Features and Highlights: Practicality Over Plush

Rusty Rail RV Park offers a more practical approach to RV living rather than a resort-style experience. Its highlights cater to those prioritizing convenience and essential functionality:

  • Direct I-45 Access: The prime location right off Interstate 45 is arguably its most significant feature, simplifying travel logistics for all guests.

  • Proximity to Amenities: Being near major highway exits means easy access to gas stations, fast food, and larger retail options like Walmart, making resupply and daily errands straightforward.

  • Established Community: The presence of many long-term campers suggests a stable and established community within the park, which can be appealing for new residents looking for a familiar environment.

  • Supportive Management: Reviews highlight the management's supportive role, particularly during challenging events like flooding, demonstrating a commitment to their residents' well-being even when circumstances are difficult.

  • No Wi-Fi (Currently Reported): It's crucial for potential guests to note that, as per recent reviews, Wi-Fi service is not available at the park. This is a significant factor for those who rely on internet connectivity for work, entertainment, or communication.

  • Susceptibility to Flooding: A critical highlight, as noted by recent guest experiences, is the park's susceptibility to flooding during torrential rains. Potential visitors, especially long-term residents, should be aware of this environmental factor and plan accordingly, including checking weather forecasts.

  • Highway Road Noise: Given its location directly on I-45, road noise is an expected constant. Those sensitive to noise should factor this into their decision-making.

Promotions or Special Offers

Based on the provided information, the park's pricing structure has recently seen changes, with monthly rents increasing. While specific, publicly advertised promotions are not detailed, it is common for RV parks like Rusty Rail RV Park to offer:

  • Monthly Rates: This park clearly caters to long-term stays, with reported monthly rents of $625 for existing tenants and potentially $700 for newcomers (as of recent customer feedback). These rates are typically the most economical for extended periods.

  • Seasonal Pricing: Like many RV parks, rates might fluctuate slightly based on demand or seasonal events, though the primary focus appears to be on consistent monthly occupancy.

My mother has been here two weeks, she can't bring her dogs out much but at least she was able to bring them. No wifi here. We had torrential rain and flooding in the rv park, and now most rvs are having to file an insurance claim Check the weather before staying, and if storms are moving through, you should too. The owners and manager have been supportive of getting done what they can this location just happens to be susceptible to flooding. The city or someone put her in a hotel for three days through the weekend and then another three days while insurance claims are being made. We don’t have any further information past today if her rv needs repaired or scrapped as to where she will stay. This is posted as Dallas Ennis RV Park, but it's apparently under new ownership/manager, and its name is Rusty Rail RV park. If the weather isn't bad, you don't have dogs and need a dog park area, don't mind the highway road noise and don't need wifi, this is a great location for what's available in the area. Some campers have been here for many years.
