Its primary suitability for Hoosiers stems from its location and the type of camping it provides.

This has been saying on my heart and I have to say something about it. The OWNERS are absolutely horrible people. NOT nice at all. Creepy people.
Dec 17, 2024 · Amy SilvarmanThey are not honest people. They are a family clan that come across as super welcoming when you come in, but if you challenge either mother Mary or brother Jim you will be out. Even if you did nothing wrong but by default because they failed to provide direct communication. Don’t join! The place is beautiful but not worth the challenge because it’s not exactly clear!
Jan 10, 2023 · Chris SerratoMy mother and her roommate have a camper in Davis Campground. They have had it about 3 years. Up until this summer it was hardly used. My family, along with my mom and her roommate started camping almost every weekend this summer. We had no issues with anyone at the campground and were greeted with open arms by the other campers. My moms roommate started having issues with his pontoon boat. The owner of the campground had been asking him to take the pontoon boat out for a few weeks because she felt it was a threat to her uninsured dock. It wasn't until my family and I were up one weekend that we were able to try and get the boat out. As we were trying to figure out the best way to get the boat out, the owner came up to my moms roommate yelling and screaming at him. The way she handled this situation was so unprofessional and embarrassing to not only herself, but the campground. I tried explaining to her that we were making our best effort to remove the boat but did not have the proper trailer for it. We were trying to come up with a plan when she yelled and screamed at my family to leave the campground. The way she got in my face, a guest at the campground, was so inexcusable. Not only asking the people that were helping to get the boat out to leave, but screaming and causing a scene in front of my child. After the boat was out, the owner came back up to my family telling us we had to leave. My mom tried reasoning with her in a calm and mature way, one that was hard for her to understand. After I apologized for even getting involved, she agreed to let us stay at the campground with the one condition that the pontoon boat was not to come back this year. We have had no issues with the owner, or other campers since after being there multiple weekends. Just yesterday, while my moms roommate was at the campground checking on a leak in our camper, the owner and her brother came up to him saying he was not allowed to come back next year. We really enjoyed our weekends at the campground. We are sad to not be welcomed back. It wasn't until we spoke with other campers about what happened to us that we learned of similar experiences they have had with the owners. All very petty and unprofessional. Although we really enjoyed our time there, we will not miss dealing with the ridiculousness and childish behaviors of the so called owners. This is my response to the owner: Add bold-face lying to the Davis Campground resume. It must of been my bad attitude that caused the other campers, our neighbors, to offer help getting our augers out for the winter. Must of been my nasty spirit that had other campers, our neighbors, come and sit by our fire for hours the last weekend that we were there. Like I said, my family and I never had any issues with the other campers and were greeted with smiles each weekend we got there. Our one neighbor asked every weekend where Fred was after the boat incident because he was too scared to come back (Fred was the 83 year old man that you screamed and yelled out until I got involved). You can ask our neighbor that you banned for putting a for sale sign on their camper. It is unfortunate that it had to end this way, especially when you and I had apologized to each other the day of the boat incident and you told me to my face that we were still welcome there. Be careful Mary, your unprofessional-ism is shining through.

Aug 06, 2015 · Mark KuhnPlace was pretry nice, you even needed a pin number to get through the gate. The person we were visiting was right on the water, which was pretty. The owner of the campground toom us out on my first pontoon ride, right when the sun was setting l. She is a very nice and lively owner.
