Dixieland Campground is situated at 1620 Pembroke-Fairview Rd, Pembroke, KY 42266, USA. This address places it in Pembroke, a charming community in Christian County, Kentucky. For many Kentuckians, particularly those in the western and south-central regions of the state, this location offers a pleasant retreat into the countryside.
The campground is located on a working farm, providing a unique rural setting that is a significant part of its appeal. While it offers a quiet escape, it remains remarkably accessible to nearby towns and points of interest. According to reviews, the drive out to the campground, though a "little drive," is described as having "gorgeous views," immediately immersing visitors in Kentucky's picturesque landscapes.
Despite its rural charm, Dixieland Campground is conveniently located near several key areas. It's not far from Hopkinsville, KY, a larger city offering a wider array of services, dining, and shopping options. Furthermore, it boasts excellent proximity to Clarksville, TN, and Fort Campbell, KY. This makes it an ideal spot for military families, those visiting loved ones at the base, or anyone needing convenient access to these bustling areas while preferring a peaceful home base.
The nearby presence of Mennonite communities is also a unique highlight, with their fresh, super good, and cheap products being a draw for many campers. This blend of tranquil farm life with easy access to urban centers and unique local culture makes Dixieland Campground a strategically located and appealing option for those looking to experience the authentic charm of rural Kentucky.
Dixieland Campground provides a range of essential services primarily catering to RV travelers seeking full hookup sites in a rural setting.
Full Hookup RV Sites:
The campground offers full hookup sites, which typically include 30 and 50 AMP electrical services, water, and sewer connections. This provides maximum convenience for RVers, allowing them to utilize all their onboard amenities without needing to frequently dump tanks or refill water.
Daily and Monthly Rates:
Dixieland Campground offers flexible booking options with both daily and monthly rates. This makes it suitable for both short-term travelers passing through and those seeking longer-term stays, such as seasonal residents or individuals working in the nearby areas like Fort Campbell or Clarksville.
RV Service and Repair:
A notable additional service is the availability of RV service and repair, including body work, roof repair, and engine service. This is a significant convenience for RV owners, providing on-site assistance for any maintenance or unexpected issues that may arise during their stay.
Gated Community:
As a "private gated RV campground," Dixieland Campground offers an added layer of security and privacy, enhancing the peace of mind for residents and guests.
Optional Laundry Services:
Laundry facilities are available, offering a practical amenity for extended stays. While one review described the laundry room as "filthy" and dryers as "money hungry," the service is available, and conditions may vary.
It is important for prospective guests to confirm specific details regarding laundry facility conditions and any other amenities directly with the campground to ensure they meet expectations, especially for longer stays.
Authentic Working Farm Setting:
One of the most distinctive highlights of Dixieland Campground is its unique location on a "working farm." This provides a genuine rural experience, complete with the sights and sounds of farm life. For those seeking a break from urban noise and a connection to the countryside, this setting offers an unparalleled charm. However, it's important for prospective campers to be aware that this includes typical farm noises, such as roosters in the morning and geese, as mentioned in a review.
Beautiful Views and Abundant Wildlife:
The campground boasts "beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife," enhancing the natural appeal of the location. Reviews mention "deer walking through your site" and "ducks and geese" on the ponds, creating a serene and picturesque environment. This makes it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those who enjoy observing local fauna.
Spacious, Full Hookup RV Sites:
The sites are described as "full hook up with plenty of room between RV’s," offering comfort and privacy for campers. This spaciousness is highly valued, ensuring that guests have ample room for their setups and outdoor activities, promoting a relaxed atmosphere.
Friendly Owners and Personal Service:
Several reviews praise the owners, particularly "Andy," for being "super friendly," "awesome," and truly caring for their tenants. This personal touch and attentiveness to guest satisfaction are significant highlights, contributing to a welcoming and supportive environment. The owner is noted for "always upgrading the property," indicating a commitment to continuous improvement.
Gated RV Campground for Security:
As a "private gated RV campground," Dixieland offers an enhanced sense of security and exclusivity. This feature is particularly appealing for those concerned about safety and seeking a more controlled environment during their stay.
Proximity to Local Mennonite Community:
A unique cultural highlight is the campground's closeness to local Mennonite communities. Campers can enjoy "a little drive out" to visit their stores, where they can purchase "fresh, super good and cheap" products, offering a distinct local experience and access to high-quality goods.
Convenient Location Near Major Towns and Fort Campbell:
Despite its rural feel, the campground is "not far from Hopkinsville Ky, Clarksville Tn or Ft Campbell Ky." This accessibility is a major plus for those who wish to combine a peaceful camping experience with visits to urban centers or military facilities.
While many highlights point to a positive experience, it's important to acknowledge that one review mentioned challenges with geese droppings and pond smell near certain sites, and concerns about laundry room cleanliness. Prospective guests are encouraged to inquire about specific site locations and amenities.
Based on the provided information, Dixieland Campground primarily operates with a focus on its standard daily and monthly rates, catering to both transient and long-term RVers. While explicit "promotions" in the traditional sense (like seasonal discounts or package deals) are not detailed in the public reviews, the campground's business model inherently offers value through its flexible rate structure.
The emphasis on "reasonable lot rent" for the quality of the offering, as implied by a positive review, can be seen as an ongoing value proposition rather than a temporary special. For those planning extended stays, the availability of competitive monthly rates is a significant benefit, providing a more economical option compared to daily rates for longer periods.
Given that it is a privately owned and operated campground on a working farm, any specific promotions or special offers would likely be managed directly by the owners. These could potentially include:
First-time visitor incentives:
A small discount for new guests to encourage trial.
Referral bonuses:
Discounts for existing campers who refer new long-term residents.
Off-season rates:
Slightly reduced rates during less busy times of the year.
Special rates for military personnel:
Given its proximity to Fort Campbell, military discounts are a possibility, though not confirmed.
To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on any available rates, potential discounts, or unique long-term stay agreements, it is highly recommended to contact Dixieland Campground directly using the provided phone numbers. It's a place to "slow down and relax," as the owner suggests, and truly enjoy the beauty of rural Kentucky.
Customer Reviews
Owners are friendly for the money but that’s where it stops. Make sure you want roosters waking you up in the morning and geese keeping you up at night. If you’re staying by the pond prepare yourself to clean up the goose droppings at your doorstep and the stale pond smell. You have 2 weeks to decide if you wish to stay before you sign a 2 month agreement AND if you don’t stay the 1100 you gave him at the beginning will take place of the 2 weeks if you decide not to stay. No money returned. Laundry room is filthy with dryers that are as money hungry as the owner. As for the washers, your clothes were cleaner before you used them.
My wife and I have camped all over Tennessee, Florida and the up the East Coast as far as Pennsylvania. This campground is a gem and the top of our favorite campground list. This is a private gated RV campground on a working farm. The sites are full hook up with plenty of room between RV’s. The views are beautiful with wildlife. The 5 ducks and goose were awesome. And live on the ponds on the farm. Andy, the owner is awesome. He is always asking tenants how things are going to make sure everyone is satisfied. He is always upgrading the property. We stayed there from January 11th 2023 to April 9th 2023. Its a little drive out to the campground but the views driving out are gorgeous and your not far from the Mennonites whose products they sell are fresh, super good and cheap. We are gonna miss that. Your also not far from Hopkinsville Ky, Clarksville Tn or Ft Campbell Ky. We highly recommend this campground and if we are ever back in the area we will stay again. Thanks Andy!
Andy is seriously the best host! He is the owner & also lives on the property. He is so helpful & just a great southern guy with such hospitality! The space is great! Has everything you need. It’s quiet & the spots have little privacy fences! There’s also a pond! We will be back! This is our new favorite hidden gem!
The campground is a quiet and gated area with a pond for fishing. The owner has helped me with small maintenance issues. You can't beat the monthly rate!
We just got here! Wow! What a little treasure! We’re in a spot with privacy fences between sites. Quiet, peaceful little place! Will add more, the longer we stay!
