Eagle's Nest Campround About

For North Carolina locals seeking a stable, quiet, and well-managed place for their RV, particularly for extended or permanent stays, Eagle's Nest Campground in Vanceboro, NC, presents a distinctive option. Unlike typical vacation campgrounds packed with amenities, Eagle's Nest has cultivated a niche as a community primarily for long-term RV residents, including many who have chosen to retire there. It's a place where the focus is on providing a peaceful and safe environment, making it a compelling choice for those looking for a settled RV lifestyle in Eastern North Carolina.

Eagle's Nest Campground might initially surprise visitors, as one review noted, being "tucked in the corner of the car lot." However, first impressions quickly give way to the reality of a welcoming and well-regarded community. The park is characterized by its tranquil atmosphere, with residents consistently praising its quiet and safe environment. It functions more like a neighborhood of RVs than a transient vacation spot, with many residents having called it home for years. While it doesn't boast resort-style amenities such as pools or playgrounds, its strength lies in its excellent management, reasonable rates, and the friendly, kind community it fosters. For those prioritizing a serene, long-term RV living experience, Eagle's Nest Campground offers a refreshing and practical alternative.

Eagle's Nest Campground is conveniently located in Vanceboro, North Carolina. The address is 87 Donna Ave, Vanceboro, NC 28586, USA.

Vanceboro is a community in Eastern North Carolina, offering a more rural and relaxed setting compared to bustling coastal towns, yet still providing reasonable accessibility to larger cities and local attractions. The campground's location on Donna Ave makes it easy to find and access from nearby highways. While Vanceboro itself is a smaller town, its position allows for convenient travel to places like New Bern, a historic city with waterfront dining, shopping, and cultural sites, located about 30 minutes away. Greenville, a larger city with more extensive amenities, is also within a manageable drive. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Neuse River and various natural areas are accessible for fishing, boating, and other recreational activities. The occasional freight trains mentioned in reviews are a characteristic of many areas in North Carolina that lie near active rail lines, and highway noise is mostly limited to daytime hours, suggesting a generally peaceful night. This balance of quiet living with accessibility to regional hubs makes Eagle's Nest Campground a practical choice for long-term residents.

Eagle's Nest Campground focuses on providing the essential services needed for comfortable long-term RV living, rather than extensive recreational amenities.

  • Full RV Hookups: Each site is equipped with essential full hookups, including water, sewer, and electrical connections, vital for extended stays.
  • Level Sites: Reviews highlight that the sites are level, making setup easier and more comfortable for RV owners.

We stayed short term, tucked in the corner of the car lot. We really enjoyed our time. And tho we were sceptical about where we were pulling in we really enjoyed it. The actual park is full of permanent living RVs. But the community was kind to us. The office was kind and very helpful at all times. The price was decent. If we have to be in the area again we would probably come back.

One of the best long term campgrounds we've stayed in, and we've stayed in a lot! This is mostly for long term stays, but we have seen 1 or 2 that only stayed a few nights. It's a neighborhood with some folks who have been here for years & retired here. There's no typical campground amenities such as pool, playground, or laundry; it's just not that type of place. Very quiet & safe. Plenty of trees and the sites are level. There are occasional freight trains that go by just across the road, and as it's just off the highway some traffic noises but mostly in the day. Reasonable rates and good management.
