Elks Mobile Home Park About
Hello there, North Carolina locals! If you're currently exploring housing options that offer affordability and a sense of community, particularly in the Eastern part of our beautiful state, you might be considering a mobile home park. Elks Mobile Home Park, nestled in Chocowinity, NC, presents a distinct living opportunity for those interested in manufactured home living. Understanding the unique aspects of a mobile home park, especially from a local perspective, is crucial for making an informed decision about your next home.
Elks Mobile Home Park aims to provide a space where residents can establish their homes in a dedicated community setting. Unlike large, bustling apartment complexes, mobile home parks often cultivate a more close-knit neighborhood feel. For many residents across North Carolina, manufactured homes offer a practical and cost-effective pathway to homeownership or long-term rental, providing more personal space and independence than many other rental options. It’s a place where you can find a sense of belonging and a more relaxed pace of life, often at a more accessible price point compared to traditional stick-built housing.
Elks Mobile Home Park is conveniently situated at 1989 Mill Rd, Chocowinity, NC 27817, USA. This location places it in the charming town of Chocowinity, which is part of Beaufort County and lies just across the Pamlico River from the larger city of Washington, NC. Chocowinity itself offers a quieter, more rural feel while still providing essential local amenities. Mill Road likely offers relatively straightforward access to the main arteries of Chocowinity, connecting residents to local businesses, schools, and services.
The park's location provides excellent accessibility for residents. Chocowinity is well-connected by major roads, allowing for relatively easy commutes to nearby towns and cities, including Washington, Greenville, and New Bern. This makes Elks Mobile Home Park a practical choice for those who work in these areas but prefer the peace and affordability of a smaller community. Residents can typically reach grocery stores, healthcare providers, local dining spots, and recreational facilities within a short drive. While public transportation options in smaller towns like Chocowinity may be limited, the area is well-suited for personal vehicle use, ensuring that residents can access all necessary services and enjoy the wider Eastern North Carolina region with ease. The balance of a tranquil setting with convenient access to urban centers is a significant advantage of this location.
As a mobile home park, Elks Mobile Home Park primarily focuses on providing the necessary infrastructure and environment for manufactured home living. Its "services" are centered around the maintenance of the common areas and facilitating essential utilities for the mobile home lots. It's important to note that this is not a recreational campground or a resort, so the services are geared towards long-term residency.
Services Offered:
- Mobile Home Lots: The core service provided is the availability of individual lots for residents to place their manufactured homes. These lots come with designated space for the home and often a small yard area.
- Property Management: The park likely provides management services to oversee the general operations of the park, including lot rentals and adherence to park rules.
- Utility Connections: It is standard for mobile home parks to provide hookups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity to each lot. Residents are typically responsible for their individual utility usage costs.
- Community Maintenance: Basic maintenance of common areas, internal roads, and general infrastructure within the park is generally managed by the park ownership.
Elks Mobile Home Park, like any residential community, possesses certain features and highlights that contribute to its appeal for residents. These aspects define the living experience and can be a significant draw for those seeking specific qualities in their home environment.
Features / Highlights:
- Affordable Living: A primary highlight is the affordability of living here. Mobile home parks often offer a significantly more budget-friendly option for homeownership or long-term rental compared to traditional single-family homes in the area, making it accessible for a wider range of North Carolinians.
- Community Atmosphere: Based on user feedback, there can be a sense of community. The presence of on-site assistance, such as "Dennis" mentioned in a review who helps residents, suggests a potentially helpful and supportive environment.
- More Space Than Apartments: Residents typically enjoy more personal space, including their own home and a small outdoor area, compared to apartment living.
- Flexible Living: For those who own their manufactured home, there's a degree of flexibility in personalizing their living space.
- Managed Environment: Being part of a mobile home park means there's a management structure in place, which can help in maintaining certain community standards and addressing communal issues.
When it comes to promotions or special offers at Elks Mobile Home Park, it’s always recommended to directly contact the park management. Mobile home parks typically operate on a different business model than retail or hospitality, so you won't usually find broadly advertised discounts. However, there may be specific incentives available for prospective residents, which could include:
- Move-in incentives for new lot rentals, potentially covering a portion of initial costs.
- Special rates for longer-term lease agreements, providing cost savings over time.
- Assistance or recommendations for mobile home transport or setup for new residents bringing their own manufactured home.
- Occasional seasonal offers that may arise depending on availability and market conditions.
To get the most accurate and current information on lot availability, rental fees, specific terms of residency, and any potential offers that might apply to your situation, direct communication with the park management is essential. Calling them will allow you to discuss your specific needs and learn about all available options.

Customer Reviews
This man, Dennis, is very kind. He helped us back into our spot. The price is right. We have more room than we previously had at another local campground. I highly recommend.
cheap broke down trailers. They will kick you out at the drop of a dime. They would fix things somes. but there trailers were hot, old. you cut your own grass if you don't it $65 for them to do it.
Trailer are full of roaches. They don't die they multiply. These roaches greet you at the door saying hello. The roaches own the trailers. They the ones holding the trailers up. They really don't like fixing anything here.
My girl friends mother and grandmother live there. The "maintenance man" (sam) is a womanizing idiot who wont come over to fix anything but will come over to flirt with my girl friends mom and literally tickle her from behind even when she's said "no". We went over to visit today and we say his son on his moped watching the house and when he saw us see him he rode away very quickly until we went back in and then I saw him do the same thing hiding behind some trees.
Nice trailers but my only problem is i have a back ground with larcenies and they would rather have people out there with murder and rape charges. And they rather have people out there thay does drugs and builds meth labs than a person with larcenies how well does thats sound
