Encore Vacation Village About
Florida’s natural beauty and endless sunshine make it a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts, and for many, camping is the perfect way to experience the Sunshine State. From the tranquil shores of its numerous lakes to the vibrant energy of its coastal cities, Florida offers a diverse range of camping experiences. For those seeking a convenient and amenity-rich base to explore the Pinellas County area, Encore Vacation Village stands out as a notable option. Located in Largo, this campground provides a practical and accessible solution for RV travelers and campers looking to enjoy all that the greater Clearwater region has to offer.
Campgrounds in Florida play a crucial role in providing comfortable and accessible accommodations for both short-term getaways and extended stays. They cater to a wide variety of preferences, from rustic tent sites to full-service RV resorts. Encore Vacation Village falls into the latter category, designed to accommodate modern RVs with essential hookups and on-site facilities. This allows visitors to enjoy the freedom of the open road while still having access to the comforts and conveniences of home.
The appeal of a campground like Encore Vacation Village for local Floridians, or those visiting from out of state, often lies in its ability to serve as a hub for exploration. Instead of booking multiple hotel rooms or constantly moving accommodations, an RV site provides a stable base from which to discover nearby attractions, beaches, and natural preserves. This kind of flexibility is highly valued by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary. Furthermore, many campgrounds offer a community atmosphere, allowing fellow travelers to connect and share experiences, which can significantly enhance the overall vacation.
For those considering an extended stay or a frequent return to the area, membership programs like Thousand Trails (which Encore Vacation Village is part of) can offer significant value, providing access to a network of campgrounds across the country. This model is particularly beneficial for full-time RVers or those who enjoy regular, longer trips, as it can reduce accommodation costs and provide a consistent quality of experience. Understanding what a campground offers in terms of site specifics, amenities, and its surrounding environment is key to a satisfying camping experience in Florida.
Encore Vacation Village is strategically situated at 6900 Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771, USA. This address places it in the heart of Pinellas County, a bustling and highly sought-after area on Florida's Gulf Coast. Largo is a central city within the county, offering a balance of residential comfort and commercial convenience, making the campground easily accessible from various directions.
The location on Ulmerton Road, a significant thoroughfare in Pinellas County, ensures excellent connectivity. It provides direct access to major roads that link to the wider Tampa Bay area, including U.S. Route 19 and State Road 60. This means that reaching the campground is straightforward for those traveling with large RVs, as these roads are well-maintained and designed to handle substantial traffic.
One of the primary benefits of this location is its proximity to Florida's world-renowned beaches. Clearwater Beach, consistently ranked among the top beaches in the United States, is just a short drive away, offering pristine white sands, clear turquoise waters, and a vibrant pier with daily sunset celebrations. Taylor Park, which offer walking trails, natural scenery, and opportunities for outdoor activities. The Pinellas Trail, a popular multi-use trail stretching from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg, is also easily accessible, providing miles of paved paths for biking, jogging, and walking. St. Petersburg's vibrant downtown, with its museums, arts scene, and waterfront parks, is approximately a 25-minute drive, while Tampa International Airport (TPA) is roughly 30-40 minutes away, making it convenient for those flying in to meet their RV or for visitors from afar. This strategic location truly positions Encore Vacation Village as an ideal base for exploring the best of the Pinellas County and Tampa Bay area.

Customer Reviews
Leslie and her staff do a very nice job with the upkeep of this park. We are Encore Thousand Trails members and were provided with a site that was big enough for our 44’ toy hauler. We had zero issues with power, water, or sewer. Archie in the office is a pip, and a treasure to speak whenever I had a package to pickup, or grab a cup of coffee. Mike in maintenance was also very nice to talk to!
I guess everyone has different standards, but this was the worst experience at a "resort" yet. Site had view of the gas station across the main road. Sirens all day and night, along with traffic, gun shots, engine revving, young men walking around at night, screaming neighbor, ambulance visited the park twice and one of those was a drunk driver hit and run in front of our rig. The grounds were dirty, dog feces everywhere, and unkempt permanent trailers. This was such a stressful stay, we obviously will never go back.
Great place to relax. Clean bathhouses, and grounds. Staff is very friendly. It's a home away from home.
Leslie the park manager is amazing! She'll do anything she can to make your stay great. Clean and quiet park.
Very reasonable rates. A pretty full park of full timers. Sandy spots. Man in the office was super friendly and helpful. The park was quiet, no noisy people. Lots of cats roaming around and getting under vehicles. Central to a lot of things but most things we wanted to do were a 20-30 min drive so in hindsight we should’ve picked a part of the coast to stay and committed to that area to shorten our drive times.
