Location and Accessibility

Georgetown Marina, Lodge & RV Park is strategically located at 1533 Co Rd 309, Georgetown, FL 32139, USA. This prime location places it directly on the St. Johns River, a vital waterway in Florida, and importantly, near the northern end of Lake George, the second-largest lake in Florida and a renowned fishing destination.

Its position at "Marker 72 on the St. Johns River near the N.E. corner of Big Lake George" provides excellent accessibility for boaters, with a deep-water approach. For RVers, the park is accessible via County Road 309, offering a route that leads to this somewhat "remote" yet tranquil setting. While major grocery shopping might be about "20 miles away either in Palatka or Crescent City," this distance contributes to the peaceful, away-from-it-all atmosphere that many campers seek. A tip from a past camper suggests "Make sure you have supplies and gas" before arrival, acknowledging its serene location.

The resort's central Florida location allows for convenient access to a variety of regional attractions. Beyond the unparalleled fishing and boating opportunities on the St. Johns River and Lake George, visitors can explore nearby natural springs like Salt Springs Recreation Area. Historic St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, offering rich history, charming streets, and diverse dining, is within a reasonable drive. Coastal areas like Flagler Beach or even the theme parks of Orlando are accessible for day trips, though they are further out. Four airports (Jacksonville, Orlando, Gainesville, and Daytona) are located within 1 to 2.5 hours, making it relatively easy for out-of-state visitors or those combining travel modes to reach the marina. This balance of secluded natural beauty with reasonable access to regional points of interest makes Georgetown Marina, Lodge & RV Park an ideal base for exploring Central Florida.

A friend and I spent a few days here for some fishing and relaxation. We experienced a very relaxing environment primarily because the owners are such nice people, and other guests we met were as well. It's not a luxury resort. I like the old Florida feel. The place is clean and quiet. Rates are very reasonable. There is a lot of water to explore and the good fishing is just frosting on the cake. Definitely would recommend them to friends and family.

Do not anchor your boat at this marina, it will get damaged or sink. Between the rough waters of lake George and faulty, not maintained boat lifts, owner who does not care about his long term tenants, this is by far the worst marina around.
