Nice primitive campground. I give it 3 stars because it had what I wanted when I camped there, a quite place near water and I would come back again. The section I stayed in was a no frills campground. Toilets were the eco-friendly type without water and there were no showers nearby. Just a nice quite spot to set up your tent. Some of the trails were closed but we didn't mind. In and out in a night to move on to the next spot.

Aug 06, 2022 · Luis MercedWe loved our stay at the park. Great atmosphere. Incredibly helpful staff. And shout out to the ranger who came and got our information for the youtube channel. There is alot to do there. From bike rentals, and canoe rentals to fishing, and a mini golf course. The only complaint I have is the price for a campsite. I think they need to come down alot compared to other state parks in other states. But other then that, great park!
May 09, 2023 · Jay GWe had a wonderful weekend here for a end-of-winter camping excursion. Our campsite was one of the furthest out so we had water views (read: osprey sightings) all around. There were some extremely windy moments and some rain, but it was still absolutely worthwhile. Turtle encounters were a treat, and we loved the scenery so much we ended up walking more even when our feet were done for the day. It's a very charming place, and I hope to go back! Be sure to do tick checks even in cold weather though!
Mar 11, 2024 · Sadie RappWe stayed in the primitive area. So peaceful in the pine forest. Nice shaded sites. Pit toilets only in that area but they were clean and maintained. $15 for a primitive site. Drove up to the RV and cabin area to take showers. No escaping the heat in that loop. Direct sun with no trees. The bathrooms were spotless and looked brand new. I took away one star because I was not able to regulate the temperature of the water for my shower. It was push button only and the water was scalding hot. Be prepared for some really red skin if you plan on using the showers. Ouch.
