For Tennesseans, Newport offers a convenient gateway to the eastern part of the state and the iconic Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The campground's address on TN-73 (also known as Cosby Highway in parts) provides relatively easy access from major roadways, making it a straightforward drive for those coming from Knoxville, Chattanooga, or even Nashville. The location is specifically noted in reviews as being "a short travel to enjoy white water rafting, a drive along the Foothills Parkway," and approximately "30 minutes to Maggie Valley or Gatlinburg."
