Promotions or Special Offers

As a campground within the Kansas State Park system, Heimerman Point Campground operates under the standardized fee structure of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP). While there aren't typically "promotions" in the commercial sense (like percentage off discounts or loyalty programs), visitors can take advantage of the state park's established pricing and permit system. The primary benefit for frequent visitors is the annual Kansas State Parks Passport or annual park vehicle permit. This permit provides unlimited entry to all Kansas state parks for a year, offering significant savings for those who plan multiple visits to Cheney State Park or other state parks throughout the year. Daily vehicle permits are also available for single visits. For Kansas residents aged 65 or older, or those with disabilities, there are discounted daily and annual permit rates, further enhancing affordability.

Campsite fees are standard and vary based on the type of site (primitive, electric, or 50-amp electric). For the most current fee schedule, information on required permits, and details about any temporary programs or events (such as free fishing weekends), it is always best to consult the official KDWP website or contact the Cheney State Park office directly. Reservations for campsites, especially for utility sites and during peak seasons, are highly recommended and can be made through ReserveAmerica or by calling the park office.

The campsites are large and private with a few large trees. I really liked how the fire pit/grill was a few feet from the campsite. The campsite I chose would be perfect for families with young children or kayakers, as you are a short walk to the water's edge with only a few feet of air and a sandy beach area to splash around in. Great for just splashing around. Bathrooms are clean and available at each campsite (there are several). Plenty of spots available. There is also a Dock to purchase supplies or supplies found as well as fishing gear and bait, and everything from smores to life jackets.

Camp grounds are large and private with several mature trees. I really liked how the fire pit/grill was several feet from the camper. The camping spot I chose would be perfect for families with young children or kayakers, as you can walk a short distance to the waters edge where the water is only a few feet deep with a Sandy beach area to wade in. Nice for just playing in the water. Showers are clean and available at each campground area, (there are several). Plenty of sites available. There is also a Marina to purchase forgotten items or necessities as well as fishing tackle and bait, and everything from smores to life jackets.

As always we had a blast!! Cheney is really great,as they offer something for everybody. It has your rocky coves, great 4 fishing. Sandy beache coves, perfect for swimming or relaxing on the shore. You're able 2 grill under the provider grills, with covered patios with ample picnic tables. They have a variety of docks. Smaller docks made for jet skis. All the while having plenty of space at the large docks 4 ski or pontoons boats. Only $5 @the gate, you'd spend that on lunch. It's a no brainer! Our family enjoys it so much, we go every weekend if possible. You'd b crazy 2 pass this lake up!

So far so good. I just wish that the neighboring camper would keep their lil yapping dog leashed. When I was walking my dog it started towards us and my dog would of attacked the poor dog out of protection of me, and mine was leashed. Then last night I was told the lil dog came over and was chasing my grandchildren around. Not to happy about that.
