For Oklahomans looking to embrace the vast beauty of Lake Eufaula, one of our state's most impressive natural playgrounds, Highway 9 Campground offers a direct gateway to lakeside adventure. As a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operated site, it provides a straightforward, no-frills camping experience that emphasizes access to the lake and its recreational opportunities. It’s a popular choice for those who prioritize fishing, boating, and enjoying the outdoors over extensive resort amenities, making it a reliable option for a genuine Oklahoma camping trip.
Highway 9 Campground is known for its convenient location right on Lake Eufaula, inviting visitors to enjoy its immense waters. Reviewers consistently note the park's "nice campground" with "grounds cut and clean," indicating a commitment to basic upkeep. While some guests have mentioned hearing "road noise" due to its proximity to the highway, the overall experience leans towards peace and quiet, especially during off-peak seasons. The campground provides essential services that campers truly need, including "electric & water" hookups at many sites and a readily available, "easy to use" dump station. However, prospective campers should be aware of some feedback regarding site conditions; one review highlights that "Many sites are uneven, have lots of debris in them, etc.," and another specifically mentioned "site north 36 very uneven." This suggests that some planning and research into specific sites might be beneficial when making reservations. Despite these considerations, the primary draw of Highway 9 Campground remains its excellent access to Lake Eufaula for fishing enthusiasts and its generally clean, well-maintained common areas, offering a solid choice for those seeking a practical and enjoyable lakeside camping experience in Oklahoma.

Nice campground , grounds cut and clean. You can hear road noise. Site north 36 very uneven, did have electric & water. Campground had dump station easy to use. Not real busy in middle of November. When arriving just went to site we had reserved, never talked to host , and never used bathhouse.
Nov 14, 2023 · Theresia Buchananthis place is great if you’d like to fish, but the campground sure could use a lot of work. Many sites are uneven, have lots of debris in them, etc.
May 03, 2025 · Jerry WinegardDog friendly (keep on leash and pick up after them). Beautiful campsite with water close by and 30 amp electric. Very clean and Marvin (the gentleman at the front gate) is awesome, friendly, funny and just an all around nice man. He was very accommodating after we had problems at a hwy 9 east campsite. Thank you Marvin!
May 27, 2024 · Tammy FothSite had no shade and trash was abundant. Bath house had feces on the toilet seat and used toilet paper on the floor. This was probably the worst campground I’ve ever been to. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had camping. Total dump
