Promotions or Special Offers

As a Minnesota State Park Campground, Interstate Park operates under the state park system's fee structure and reservation policies. Traditional "promotions" in the commercial sense (like buy-one-get-one-free or seasonal discounts) are typically not offered by state parks. Instead, the value is found in their standard, accessible pricing and the extensive amenities and natural beauty included with your stay.

To camp at Interstate Park Campground, you will need a Minnesota State Park vehicle permit, which can be purchased annually or daily. The annual permit offers significant savings for Minnesotans who plan to visit state parks frequently throughout the year. Camping fees are separate and vary depending on the type of site (e.g., standard, electric, group). These fees are set to cover the maintenance and operation of the park and its facilities, ensuring a high-quality experience for all visitors.

It is highly recommended to make reservations in advance, especially during peak season (summer weekends and holidays), as popular campsites, particularly those with electric hookups or river views, can fill up quickly. Reservations can typically be made up to 11 months in advance through the Minnesota DNR website or their reservation call center.

While direct promotions are rare, the inherent value of camping at a well-maintained state park with access to unparalleled natural beauty and recreational opportunities is a compelling offer in itself for Minnesota residents.

Interstate Park Campground (North) is a lovely camping location, with electric hookups, fairly level spots, and plenty of space between sites. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. We had a site with a view of the river past the trees. The campground was clean and well maintained. We loved this campground due largely to the beautiful location on the St. Croix River, miles of hiking trails, and proximity to the towns of St. Croix Falls (WI) and Taylor Falls (MN). We were able to walk to both towns to explore, shop, and eat. We were also able to hike the Interstate Park on both sides of the river. It was a quick 10-minute hike from the north campground to the state fishery and to 'Be Wild Burgers', a great burger joint open for lunch.

I loved our site on the water. It was very pretty. We walked the amazing river trail. It was beautiful even in a heavy April rain. The railroad trail was cool but got really close to the road with no roadblock which cramped the natural beauty.

Sites are small. The higher numbered sites are on a slight hill, so lots of blocks to get level. Quiet, great staff. Bathrooms need updating, old, iron stained, not very appealing. Water at dumpstation needs fixing.

I haven’t been to this park in a couple years but I always enjoy it when I’ve been there. Some fascinating holes in the rock that were created when river was much larger and rolled rocks around creating round holes like I have never seen anywhere else. Beautiful place and Taylor falls is tight close cool little town

It was pretty crowded but well worth hiking the trails. We stayed on the Minnesota side and the campground was right at one end of the trails. There is another similar park on the Wisconsin side, so be careful when you use your Google maps as they are named the same thing. The trail system is essentially from the campground 2 miles up river to the small town that has various amenities such as cafés, gas stationa nd a malt shop. I thought the town was a little touristy. The railroad trail goes high and crosses under the road and is worth taking simply for the views. The trail from the town back to the campground it was along the river, but most of those things to see are closer to the town on that trail.
