This address places it squarely in northwestern Wisconsin, within Burnett County, a region celebrated for its natural beauty and abundant recreational opportunities. The presence of the Yellow River directly adjacent to the campground is a key locational advantage, offering immediate water access.
Accessibility to the campground by road is straightforward. Danbury is situated off major state highways, making the drive relatively easy for visitors from various parts of Wisconsin, including those coming from the southern and central regions, or even from the nearby Twin Cities metropolitan area in Minnesota. The specific address, "E Yellow River Rd," clearly indicates its riverside location, which is a significant draw for campers interested in water activities.
Within the campground, customer reviews indicate that sites are "spacious," which is a positive for both tent campers and RVers looking for room to spread out. While one review mentions that "campers have been pushed tighter together" compared to the past, the overall sentiment still highlights generally good space. The campground also features a "boat launch to the Yellow River," providing direct and convenient access for those bringing their watercraft. This eliminates the need to seek out public launches elsewhere, enhancing the overall convenience for boating enthusiasts.
For visitors with mobility needs, while specific ADA compliance details are best confirmed directly with the campground, the mention of "spacious sites" can generally translate to easier maneuverability. Given its private ownership, DuFour's Campground likely strives to provide a comfortable experience for all guests. The ease of access to the Yellow River via the boat launch suggests a dedicated, potentially well-maintained entry point for water activities. As a privately owned campground, DuFour's Campground typically handles its promotions and special offers directly. Unlike state parks, private campgrounds often have more flexibility with discounts, seasonal rates, and unique packages. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on any available promotions, it's always best to contact DuFour's Campground directly via phone or by checking their official communication channels (e.g., website, social media, if available).
- Seasonal Rates: Many private campgrounds like DuFour's offer attractive rates for seasonal campers who wish to keep their RVs on-site for the entire camping season (typically May through September or October). This can be a very cost-effective option for frequent visitors or those with extended vacation plans in the area. These rates usually represent a significant discount compared to nightly or weekly stays.
- Weekly or Monthly Discounts: Campgrounds often provide discounted rates for longer stays (e.g., stay 6 nights, get the 7th night free; or reduced weekly/monthly rates). These offers encourage longer visits and can be particularly beneficial for families planning an extended vacation.
- Off-Peak Season Rates: During the shoulder seasons (spring before Memorial Day and fall after Labor Day), when demand is lower, campgrounds may offer reduced nightly rates or special packages to attract campers. The fall, in particular, is noted as "very pretty," making it a great time to visit with potential savings.
- Holiday Weekend Minimum Stays/Surcharges: While not a promotion, it's important to note that holiday weekends (like Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) almost always have minimum stay requirements (e.g., 2 or 3 nights) and may come with slightly higher rates due to increased demand.
- Membership Discounts: Some private campgrounds are affiliated with camping discount programs such as Good Sam Club, Passport America, or KOA (though DuFour's is not a KOA). If DuFour's participates in any such programs, members could receive a percentage off nightly rates. It's always worth asking if they honor any affiliation discounts.
- Group Rates: For larger groups, scout troops, or family reunions, DuFour's might offer special group rates or packages, similar to dedicated group campgrounds. This would be determined by direct inquiry.

Customer Reviews
Very clean campground with spacious sites, friendly staff and a boat launch to the Yellow River. Fun to see the Ice Cream Man drive through.
Camp ground is not like it use to be. Lots of old decks and seams like left over junk from campers. Campers have been pushed tighter together.
Feel that the speed limit is hard to follow! 5mph is not very fast. Golf carts and walkers do not have speedometer! Use comman Sense on when to use the gas pedal and be aware of surroundings. Beautiful Northwoods experience shower room by pool could use a refresh but rustic and functional. Pool is clean and we all had so much fun! The ice cream truck comes most Saturdays xoxo
We sold our camper this past fall, due to medical issues, but I will miss camping after 16 years, DuFour's WAS truly a hidden gem! Too bad new owners came in and ran it down from being a VERY enjoyable weekend retreat. And all about the money. The campers are the best! Thanks for all the GREAT years.
We absolutely love coming up every year always a great time!.
