Customer Reviews
We came here for the weekend and booked two cabins. The bunk house and hide away. It was perfect for what we needed. I don’t know why the reviews are so negative because Jan and Tim were incredible people. Anything we needed we got immediately! They are always around the campground and you see them often which is more than I can say for half the other campgrounds I’ve been to. The shower house is not bad at all. Very clean and works for what you need. Will be returning on the very near future!
Loved every min of this beautiful place. Owners are down to earth and really care about your experience. Unfortunately I am going over seas and wont be able to enjoy this summer at this lovely place. Clean, caring and considerate place to camp. We will be back..
Great friendly place to stay.
Can I give less than one star or negative stars? First let me start off with the positives: The campground was for the most part clean, the other seasonal guests were amazing aside from a couple people. There is a strict 5mph speed in the campground, my daughter and I almost got run over by an intoxicated man on a golf cart driving erratically. The brand new shower house that was just built before the opening of the 2017 season was not efficient. The toilets backed up every day, the shower took forever to get hot, there was no water pressure and once you did get good pressure if someone turned on the water in another shower or flushed the toilet you'd loose your pressure. On top of poor water quality, the water stunk so bad sometimes you couldn't even shower because you'd come out smelling like sulfur and metal. The owners of the campground said they would put a plug on the water system so the smell would go away but that never happened because it costs too much and they'd have to replace it so often that they said they weren't going to deal with it. The campground charges $1400/ season...I know that's cheap compared to other campgrounds, but for what you get...which is nothing it's kind of a rip off. Electric is not covered, lawn maintenance is not covered. There is a pond on site that is DISGUSTING. They claim it's chemically treated or clean but it's so unkempt and full of goose poo that nobody ever goes in it. For the $1400 we paid they could have at least sprayed weekly or bi-weekly for mosquitoes. They are terrible at the campground. Management and the owner Jan are a bunch of two faced people. They act like your friend and are social when they see you but do things behind your back and are LAZY. Our campsite was so wet with standing water from day 1. We continuously asked for dirt to fill in the spots of standing water but TIM the property manager always said it's too wet to get his machines where the dirt pile is and he can't do it then...give a few more days until things dry up he'd say. When I asked why he didn't use a shovel and move the dirt himself like promised in April he said he doesn't do manual labor and will have to wait until the ground hardens up again from the rain. I could go on and on about this campground and their poor management but I think I'll stop here. We will not be returning next year. Poor excuse for a campground in my opinion.
We will not be coming back here. We scheduled a cabin here for 3 nights, drove 3 hours to get there on check in day to be told that our cabin is already occupied. We had 2 trucks, a boat and 2 dogs so a hotel wasn’t an option. Jan never came out to talk to us or try to help us with other options. Instead she called us while standing inside the window of her home watching us. so we turned around and drove 3 hours back home. We loved this campground and were yearly visitors prior to this incident.
