This location makes it an accessible destination for a wide range of North Carolina residents, particularly those in the eastern and central parts of the state. It's also conveniently positioned for quick getaways for our neighbors to the south.

The park's accessibility is a key advantage for RVers and families. Major roadways, including US-701, provide straightforward routes to Tabor City, ensuring a smooth journey whether you're coming from Wilmington, Fayetteville, or even further inland. Jellystone Park™ Tabor City offers a comprehensive array of services and amenities designed to ensure a fun, comfortable, and convenient stay for all guests. These services cater to the diverse needs of RVers and family campers:

  • RV Site Rentals: Providing various types of RV sites, likely including full hook-up options (water, electric, sewer) to accommodate different RV sizes and preferences.
  • Tent & Cabin Rentals: While primarily an RV park, Jellystone locations often offer tent sites and various cabin accommodations, expanding options for non-RVers or those seeking a different experience.
  • Camp Store: A well-stocked on-site camp store provides "things to help your camping needs," including essentials, snacks, souvenirs, and possibly camping gear.
  • Ice Cream Place (Creamery): An "awesome" and "delicious" on-site creamery offering ice cream and treats, noted as being "reasonably priced."

Jellystone Park™ Tabor City is packed with features and highlights that create a truly engaging and memorable family camping experience.

  • Waterfront Fun: While not explicitly mentioned in these reviews, Jellystone Parks are known for their water features. Some may have splash pads, water slides, or lake access for activities beyond pools, enhancing the aquatic experience.
  • Mini Golf: The "mini golf was well maintained," providing a classic family-friendly activity for all ages.
  • Inflatable Bounce Pad/Obstacle Course: A popular feature, though one review notes it's "only inflated at certain times so 1x/day for a short bit," it still offers unique physical activity and fun for kids.
  • Excellent Food Offerings: Beyond the ice cream, the "small restaurant" is highlighted as "fast and nice," with "funnel cake fries" described as "tremendous." This convenient and tasty food makes dining easy.

It's important to note feedback on pricing, which some find "insane for camping these days," especially outside peak summer activity periods. Similarly, a concern was raised about not receiving points for a stay and a lack of reply from the main Jellystone contact regarding the issue. These operational aspects, particularly related to loyalty programs and pricing adjustments for off-peak seasons, are points for prospective visitors to consider and potentially clarify directly with the park.

While specific, short-term "Promotions or Special Offers" for Jellystone Park™ Tabor City are best obtained directly from the park's official channels, Jellystone Parks are generally known for various types of promotions throughout the year. Prospective campers in North Carolina should actively look for these:

  • Off-Season Discounts: As indicated by a reviewer, pricing might be adjusted for capacity during non-peak seasons (e.g., May when kids are still in school). It is worth inquiring about special rates for spring or fall stays.
  • Themed Weekend Packages: Jellystone Parks frequently host themed weekends (e.g., Halloween, holiday celebrations) that might include special activity packages or discounted rates.
  • Extended Stay Deals: For those planning longer vacations, there might be reduced rates for booking multiple nights or weeks.
  • Loyalty Programs: While one reviewer noted an issue with receiving points, Jellystone Parks often have loyalty programs or online booking incentives. It's advisable to check the official Jellystone website or call directly about any such programs.
  • Military Discounts: Given North Carolina's strong military presence, some parks in the state may offer discounts for active military personnel and veterans.
  • Early Bird Specials: For popular summer dates, booking far in advance might unlock lower rates.

The best approach to discover any current promotions is to visit the official Jellystone Park™ Tabor City website or call their reservation line directly. They often have online booking systems where deals are automatically applied or special codes can be entered.

Don't expect to receive points for your stay! I called the jellystone I made the reservation at and they gave me a web page to the main place. Emailed my problem to them 4 days ago and received no reply! The campgrounds in it self was very relaxing and the camp staff were very polite and helpful. The camp store is nice with things to help your camping needs and the Ice cream place was awesome! The small restaurant they have is fast and nice for a quick meal if you are on the go all day! Funnel cake fries are tremendous. They also have indoor and outdoor pools. The restrooms were very clean and well attended to. Nice stay in Tabor city!

I grew up camping at (actually owned a lot at one!), but the cost is just insane for camping these days, especially in May when kids are still in school and no where near the activities offered in summer. I would book more frequent since I live close if they adjusted the price for capacity, just to get away…but at these prices we only book for special occasions, like my son’s bday this year. On the positive notes, it is really pretty and well kept, they had clean/nice restrooms, the mini golf was well maintained, the creamery was delicious and I think reasonably priced. The cons, I booked bec they had a heated pool. The indoor pool was not heated and when we called to ask, they said they only heat in cooler months. Not sure what cool is to them, but it was 60 at night 🥶 so it kindof ruined us swimming as a family. The inflatable bounce pad is only inflated at certain times so 1x/day for a short bit while we were there. Thankfully we brought lots of games to entertain ourselves outside of mini golf. Overall - it’s a nice campground, just too much $$ for us.

Updated review at the end: Very friendly staff, well-spaced sites, good location—BUT… CHECK WHAT AMENITIES ARE AVAILABLE DURING YOUR STAY. We chose Jellystone Campground for our kids’ spring break, expecting a fun-filled week with them and their cousin. The park advertises a variety of amenities, which was the main draw for us, making the seven-hour drive seem worthwhile. However, what wasn’t clear when booking was that nearly all of those amenities would be closed since it was not peak season. The park’s app provides operating hours, but that’s only helpful once you’re already there. During our stay, the only amenity consistently open during the week was the indoor pool. The rec center, mini-golf, general store, and creamery had weekend hours, but were unavailable most of the time. The Pic-a-nic basket was closed for the season. Fortunately, there is a grocery store a short drive away, which helped make up for the closed general store (self-serve ice machine was broken). Throughout the week, we saw not just our own kids but many others wandering around, visibly bored. It was clear their experience wasn’t what they had been expecting. I’m sure this place is great in the summer, but in the spring, it’s much quieter. While the campground itself is nice, if you’re not visiting during peak season, I’d strongly recommend calling ahead to confirm what’s actually open. Update: I want to emphasize how friendly and accommodating the staff was. They personally checked in to see how they could improve our stay and followed through on their efforts. They also cleared up some incorrect information we initially received from another staff member earlier in the week. While I still recommend calling ahead before booking during off-peak times, I truly appreciate the staff’s dedication to guest satisfaction. Knowing what we do now, we may consider returning in the summer to experience everything the campground has to offer.

We had the best stay! Staff is so friendly and the park is beautiful! We were lucky enough to get the snowbird rate. The laundry and bath houses were clean. Went to Myrtle beach a few times. Can’t say enough nice things about it but we want to come back every year

We were in need of LP while dry camping at Lake Waccamaw. I called and was told that the campground did have LP and where to pull in when we got there. We drove almost an hour only to be told by the front desk that if we weren't camping there, they would not fill up our tank. We would have gladly paid an extra fee plus paying their price for the LP but they would not budge from their (in my mind) crazy policy. Little to say, we would never entertain the idea of ever camping with them.
