Customer Reviews
Large spacious park with a number of sites with power and water. Lots of tent sites with no power. Several bath houses, one with laundry facilities. Host was extremely helpful and friendly. Our site had no picnic table and no fire ring. Our host was able to bring over a fire ring. Deferred maintenance is evident throughout the park. Small playground available for kids.
Campground is beautiful. Campsites are spacious. Looks like a wonderful place but the mining/ excavation goes on through the night and day. And then the trains come and go hauling the materials to their destination. It's like sleeping in an industrial area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a quiet getaway and that is exactly what we got. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very clean and well maintained. The only thing that was the slightest inconvenience was that all the restaurant offered was a buffet, we were unable to order from the menu.
Kentucky Dam Village State Park , Gilbertville, KY This is only a campground review because we arrived late and left early. There are many facilities in this park including a lodge , boat dock, golf course, etc. Arriving at night in the dark we had a challenge finding the campground. Info signs are few and far between and they don’t show up at night. Once in the camp ground we had no idea where to go because there are no signs saying which loop and the numbers on that loop. So we just picked a spot near the first bath house. I had already read reviews saying that 2 sites share electric and water and they were hard to reach without a real long ext cord. So we decided it wasn’t worth it to figure that out in the dark. The restrooms were clean snd spacious. There seemed to be 3 for the campground. Its a pretty campground with lots of old majestic trees. But no marker posts for each site and no picnic table or firepit at most sites. We did notice that along the perimeter sites had tables and firepits.
Bring lighting n bug stuff you're on the river sand = fleas RV rug helps. Very peaceful, campers are spread out. Reasonably priced. Nice playground basketball goal, corn hole. Beautiful walks. Pet friendly ☺️
