Lake Alma State Park Campground is conveniently located on an Unnamed Road in Hamden, OH 45634, USA. This places it within Vinton County, a region of Ohio known for its picturesque landscapes and rugged terrain, yet it remains easily accessible for most residents across the state. Hamden itself is a small community, lending to the quiet and relaxed atmosphere that many campers appreciate.
While the exact street name might be "Unnamed Road," GPS systems will typically guide you directly to the park entrance using the provided Hamden address. For first-time visitors, it’s worth noting, as some previous campers have mentioned, that "the road to get to the campground has a couple of very steep little hills that drop right down the other end when you're over, so be aware coming in." This characteristic of the local topography adds to the adventurous feel of reaching the park but is manageable with awareness.
The park's location offers a balanced blend of seclusion and convenience. It feels tucked away in a "wooded ravine," providing a sense of immersion in nature, yet it’s not so remote that essential supplies or a quick trip into a nearby town would be inconvenient. This accessibility makes it a practical choice for Ohioans looking for a weekend escape without an overly long drive, allowing for more time to enjoy the campground and its surroundings. Its position in Southern Ohio also makes it a fantastic hub for exploring other nearby natural attractions and small towns in the region.

Customer Reviews
Nice quiet campground, though a little tight for 5vers and buses. Most site near the front could accommodate you but towards the back it gets pretty tight. Water fill station is a bit far off the road and not obvious for first timers in the grass near the dump station. Great playground for the kids and the lake across the street is pretty and the dock is nice. The road to get to the campground has a couple of very steep little hills the drop right down the other end when your over so be aware coming in. Nice place for the family on a nice summer weekend.
Nice small campground tucked into a wooded ravine. We stayed in a full hook up site. The sites were a little closer than I normally like, but all of our neighbors were friendly and courteous. They had several hiking trail, all clearly marked.
nice little campground with good amount of shade quiet spots are small so go out there and get to know your neighbors love the setting of this state park
Absolutely loved camping here. Such a nice little park. You can tell that it has been well kept and the state puts time and effort into it. The camp sites are very nice and the bath houses are clean. We had a little waterfall near our site and it was so relaxing. Will definitely be back to camp here again!
Spots are very narrow and close with oddly placed hookups. No gravel and very little grass in spots, so it’s muddy. No space for outside rugs. Toilets unusable but shower house was fine. Lots of left behind items like large unchopped firewood and car mats. Quite a bit of cars scoping out spots and trash and cigarette butts laying around.
