Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals
For New Hampshire locals, particularly those aged 50 and above looking for a permanent summer retreat, Lake Forest Resort represents a unique and highly suitable option. It capitalizes on the Granite State’s best natural asset—a beautiful, clean lake—and combines it with the stability and amenities of a private resort community. Unlike dealing with the uncertainty of short-term rentals, local residents can establish a true "summer home" here, often through park model ownership, which provides an economical, low-maintenance alternative to a traditional lake house.
The strong sense of community is a major draw for New Englanders. The resort offers an active and friendly social environment where residents from New Hampshire and beyond return year after year, building lasting friendships. The highly praised owners and the abundance of organized activities—from golf leagues to social suppers—ensure that every day can be as busy or as relaxing as desired. For the New Hampshire resident who seeks an annual, worry-free summer sanctuary with a focus on peace, community, and pristine waterfront access, Lake Forest Resort on Great East Lake truly is an unmatched local treasure.

Jul 26, 2025 · Dave BrownWe live here in the summer and absolutely love it. It is quiet and has lots of activities if you choose to do them. Golf is cayman golf and very challenging. The owners are loving and make us feel comfortable and so happy to be here.
Jul 25, 2025 · Louise BillyI've known the grounds for many years and it's always a delight. The scenic lake-side dock, and the golf course are chief favorites. Good space between lots; private but not hermit-like.
