Lake Shore Resort, as part of the Outdoor Adventures network, aims to provide a comprehensive range of services to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for its guests. While specific service details can vary, here's what you can generally expect, based on the nature of a family-oriented RV resort and insights from customer reviews:
- RV Sites with Hookups: The resort offers various RV sites, typically including full hookups (water, sewer, electric – often 20/30/50 amp) to accommodate different types of RVs.
- Cabin/Rental Units: While primarily an RV resort, many campgrounds of this type also offer cabin rentals or other unique lodging options for those without an RV. (To be confirmed directly with the resort).
- Restrooms and Showers: Clean and well-maintained restroom and shower facilities are standard amenities at resorts, crucial for comfortable camping.
- Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry services are commonly provided for guest convenience. (To be confirmed directly with the resort).
- Propane Sales: Many RV resorts offer propane refills or exchanges. (To be confirmed directly with the resort).
- Guest Services and Staff Support: The resort employs staff, including individuals like Richard and Josh, noted for being "helpful, laid-back, and fun," providing assistance and ensuring guest comfort. The "whole staff" is praised for being welcoming and attentive, especially with children.
- Membership-Based Access: Lake Shore Resort operates on a membership model. While tours may be offered, access to full amenities and camping often requires a membership, which customers indicate can be a significant investment (e.g., "$20k a pop").
It is crucial for prospective guests to directly confirm all services, their availability, and any associated costs or membership requirements with the resort, as some review experiences indicate potential miscommunications during the sales process regarding the value proposition and what's included. The availability of services, especially during the "off-season," should also be verified.
Lake Shore Resort prides itself on offering a wide array of features and amenities designed to provide an "awesome" and entertaining experience for the entire family. These highlights are central to the resort's appeal, turning a simple camping trip into a memorable vacation:
- Family-Friendly Environment: The resort emphasizes being "kid friendly" with staff going "above and beyond" to keep children comfortable and entertained with snacks and activities. This focus on family is a major draw for parents.
- Diverse Amenities: Guests can expect a variety of facilities. While not explicitly listed in detail, reviews highlight "awesome amenities for the whole family" and a "beautiful, clean" resort. Common amenities at similar resorts include:
- Swimming Pools: Often a central feature for recreation and relaxation.

However, it is important for prospective guests to consider some contrasting feedback. One review described the clubhouse as "super outdated" for the perceived membership price, making them "think it's the 90s." This same review highlighted a negative interaction with staff (excluding David) and a feeling of being "mean mugged" by other campers, as well as a sales process that became dismissive once interest in immediate purchase was not shown. Concerns were also raised about a staff member's comment regarding "kids are hellions" despite the resort being promoted as "kid friendly." These points suggest that while many enjoy their experience, others may encounter discrepancies between expectations and reality, particularly concerning facilities' modernity and the sales approach. It is advisable to conduct a thorough tour and ask detailed questions about the condition of all facilities before committing to a membership.
Based on customer reviews, Lake Shore Resort primarily operates on a membership model, and promotions often involve incentives to encourage the purchase of these memberships. One common way potential guests encounter the resort is through a "coupon for free camping" received, for instance, when purchasing a new camper. This free camping stay is designed to allow prospective members to tour the campground and experience its facilities firsthand before committing to a significant membership investment (which has been noted by a customer as potentially "$20k a pop").
While specific ongoing promotions beyond this "free camping" tour offer are not detailed in the provided information, potential offers at membership-based resorts might include:
- Special pricing for new memberships during certain seasons.
- Bundled packages that include access to multiple Outdoor Adventures properties.
- Referral incentives for existing members.
Prospective members are strongly encouraged to contact Lake Shore Resort directly to inquire about all available promotions, the current cost of memberships, and what exactly is included with both the promotional offers and the full membership. It is vital to clarify all terms and conditions, especially given the differing customer experiences with the sales process and the value proposition.
For those interested in learning more about Lake Shore Resort, inquiring about membership, or discussing a promotional visit, the direct contact information is as follows:

It is highly recommended to call the resort during business hours to speak with a representative. Direct communication will allow you to get the most current and accurate information regarding membership options, tour availability, amenities, and any specific questions you may have about experiencing Lake Shore Resort. Given some of the detailed customer reviews, preparing a list of questions, especially about the membership cost, facilities' condition, and the sales process, would be beneficial for a more informed discussion.
For many Michigan locals, particularly families and avid campers, Lake Shore Resort in Davison presents an intriguing opportunity for regular getaways and creating lasting memories. Its suitability for local residents stems from its strong focus on family-friendly experiences, a wide array of amenities, and its accessible location within the state.
The resort’s commitment to providing an "incredible" and entertaining environment for the "whole family" is a major draw. With staff reportedly going "above and beyond" to entertain children and a focus on diverse amenities (implied to include pools, sports courts, playgrounds, etc.), it offers a comprehensive vacation solution without the need for extensive travel. This makes it ideal for Michigan families seeking frequent, convenient escapes from daily routines, whether for a weekend or a longer stay. The positive feedback on staff kindness and warmth further enhances the potential for a welcoming atmosphere.
From a logistical standpoint, Lake Shore Resort's location in Davison is highly advantageous. Its proximity to Interstate 69 ensures that residents from across Southeast and Central Michigan can reach the resort with relative ease. This accessibility reduces travel time, allowing more precious moments to be spent enjoying the resort's offerings rather than on the road. For locals, having such a well-equipped recreational destination within a manageable driving distance is a significant benefit, providing a reliable and enjoyable escape for many years.
While the membership model and perceived condition of some facilities (like the clubhouse) have garnered mixed reviews, the consistent praise for the staff and the overall family experience suggests that for many, the benefits outweigh these concerns. The opportunity to gain a membership, as noted by some satisfied customers, also means long-term access to a consistent vacation spot, fostering a sense of belonging and community among repeat visitors. For Michigan locals seeking a dedicated recreational resort that caters to family fun and offers a reliable escape for outdoor adventures, Lake Shore Resort is certainly a destination worth considering for its potential to become a cherished part of their leisure lifestyle.
Customer Reviews
We had an incredible weekend at Outdoor Adventures Lake Shore Resort! I’ll be honest, we read some mixed reviews before coming and felt a little nervous, but our experience was the complete opposite of those! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with kindness and warmth. Richard and Josh were amazing—so helpful, laid-back, and fun. The whole staff made sure our kids were comfortable and entertained with snacks and activities, which we truly appreciated. The resort itself is beautiful, clean, and full of awesome amenities for the whole family. We had such a great time that we ended up getting a membership! We can’t wait to make more memories here. Thank you to the entire Lake Shore team for going above and beyond!
My husband and I went today to do a tour of the campground since we had a coupon for free camping that we received when we bought our new camper. The first guy we dealt with, David, was friendly and made a lot of small talk with us. We were in the building for probably over an hour talking about the location. Once we went on the tour, we felt like the experience went down hill fast. Their clubhouse is super outdated, for the price of the memberships.... 20k a pop? Why is the clubhouse making me think it's the 90s? For it being "off season" it was fairly packed. We kept being mean mugged at by other campers, one lady even yelled at David for "driving too fast" gave "Karen" vibes (he was maybe doing 7 in a 5mph zone, with no people or cars around). We were having an okay time until David said "thank you" to us and I said "for what?" And he said "for not bringing our son, cause kids are hellions" like what??? Your camp ground is based off of being "kid friendly." If your staff doesn't want kids around, what makes me even want to CONSIDER paying an ungodly amount of money for a less than mediocre campground. When the tour was over and we went back in the building to "talk numbers" David completely just dropped us off with some guy (can't remember his name, but he looked like Mr. Clean), and never came back. He was talking about how he was running the numbers "just for us" and when my husband said "we would have to go through our budget and see where it fits in, so it wont be today." As soon as the guy heard us say "not today" he ended the conversation by saying "your free camping card is on David's desk" and just WALKED AWAY. Didn't even give us pamphlets, no business card, nothing. Just walked away. Needless to say, we will be using our free camping at one of the other resorts, and won't be buying a membership cause of the attitude from Mr. Clean.
David just gave us a tour of the campground. David was pleasant, friendly and an all around good guy. We really enjoyed the 3 hour tour with him. Although the membership camping program didn't fit with our plans the park looked amazing and well cared for. There was no pressure to buy at all. They presented the options and accepted our response. Great people.
It's a campground with basically an HOA. You have to have a fancy camper, no toys left out on your site, your rugs have to be neat, and you can't have anything left out drying. The campground is not kept up enough for them to tell us how to camp on our own site that we paid for.
Older amenities and steep staircase. It was very clean and I had a microwave, stove, refrigerator, and sink. The bathroom was very small. But in all, it wasn't a horrible experience. It just wasn't the place my family was hoping for.
