Lexington Village About

Introduction / Overview

For many Oklahomans, finding an affordable and comfortable place to call home is a top priority. Mobile home parks, also known as manufactured home communities, often present a viable and attractive option for individuals and families seeking a sense of community without the traditional costs associated with site-built homes. Lexington Village, located in Lexington, Oklahoma, is one such community that has been part of the local housing landscape. These parks typically offer land leases where residents own their manufactured homes but rent the lot it sits on, providing a unique blend of homeownership and managed community living. Understanding the dynamics of such a park, including its amenities, management, and community atmosphere, is crucial for anyone considering making it their home. Lexington Village aims to provide a residential option for those looking for mobile home living in the heart of Oklahoma.

Location and Accessibility

Lexington Village Mobile Home Park is situated at 101 Owens St, Lexington, OK 73051, USA. Lexington itself is a small, charming town in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, known for its quieter pace of life compared to larger metropolitan areas. This location offers residents the benefit of small-town living while still providing reasonable access to larger cities like Norman and Oklahoma City.

The accessibility of Lexington Village makes it an appealing option for those who work in nearby towns or prefer a less congested environment. Lexington is traversed by State Highway 39, offering direct routes to surrounding communities. The town's proximity to Norman, which is home to the University of Oklahoma, provides residents with access to a wider range of shopping, dining, entertainment, and employment opportunities. While Lexington maintains its rural charm, the ease of access to these larger hubs means that residents of Lexington Village can enjoy the best of both worlds: a peaceful home environment with the convenience of urban amenities within a short driving distance. This makes Lexington Village a practical choice for individuals and families looking for a balance between serene living and connectivity.

Services Offered

Mobile home parks typically offer a range of services designed to support the needs of their residents, primarily focusing on maintaining the community infrastructure and providing essential utilities. For Lexington Village, based on the nature of mobile home parks, the expected services would generally include:

  • Lot Rental: The primary service offered is the rental of individual lots for manufactured homes. Residents own their homes but lease the land beneath them.
  • Utility Access: The park facilitates access to essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity for each lot. It is common for residents to set up accounts directly with utility providers for their usage, though some services might be managed by the park.
  • Waste Management: Typically, mobile home parks arrange for trash collection services for residents, ensuring proper waste disposal.
  • Community Management: A management team oversees the general operations of the park, including enforcing community rules, handling maintenance requests for common areas, and addressing resident concerns.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: The park management is usually responsible for the upkeep of common areas, internal roads, and shared infrastructure.

It is important for prospective residents to inquire directly with Lexington Village regarding the specifics of utility billing, maintenance protocols, and any other services provided or facilitated by the park. Public reviews mention issues related to water quality and maintenance responsiveness, suggesting that these are key areas to clarify when considering this community.

Features / Highlights

The features and highlights of a mobile home park often revolve around its community aspects, amenities, and the living environment it provides. While detailed public information on specific amenities for Lexington Village is limited, based on typical mobile home park offerings and available resident feedback, we can infer certain characteristics:

  • Community Setting: Lexington Village is a dedicated mobile home community, which suggests a neighborhood environment designed for manufactured homes. This typically fosters a close-knit community feel among residents.
  • Individual Lots: Each resident leases a specific lot for their mobile home, offering a degree of personal space and a yard area, unlike apartment living.
  • Residential Living: The park is designed for long-term residential living, catering to individuals and families seeking a more permanent housing solution.
  • Accessibility to Lexington: Its location in Lexington, OK, means residents have access to local schools, small businesses, and community services within the town.

However, it's crucial to acknowledge the concerns raised in public reviews regarding some aspects of the park's management and infrastructure. Issues mentioned include:

  • Maintenance Concerns: Residents have reported problems with maintenance not being addressed promptly or adequately, specifically citing issues with water quality.
  • Management Changes: There have been references to new ownership and management, which some residents feel have led to negative changes in the park's quality and responsiveness.
  • Price Adjustments: Concerns about unexpected or frequent price increases for lot rent have been noted by previous residents.

Prospective residents are strongly encouraged to visit the park, speak with current residents if possible, and engage directly with the management to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current features and living conditions. This will help align expectations with the reality of living in Lexington Village.

Use to be a nice park until the new owners came in and tore it up. Would not recommend. With in 3 or 4 months they will start raising prices on u. They don't fix anything and if u call them to much about fixing problems the new manager will just threaten to evict u for bugging her.

I wouldn't recommend living here to anyone. They give write-ups to the point that it's harassment over the smallest things but don't give write-ups to people who's yards literally look like a junk yard. They also lie and say your rent wasn't paid when you have full proof that it was. Looks like somebody is pocketing the late fees🤔
