Longhorn Mobile Home Park About
For Texans seeking an affordable housing solution within the vast expanse of Houston, Longhorn Mobile Home Park offers a unique living environment. Situated amidst an industrial park, this community provides a distinct alternative to traditional residential areas. While it comes with specific characteristics due to its location, it aims to offer a practical and cost-effective option for those looking for a place to call home in the bustling city.
Mobile home parks often fill a crucial gap in urban housing markets, providing accessible living solutions that are typically more budget-friendly than conventional apartments or homes. Longhorn Mobile Home Park operates on a month-to-month lease basis, offering flexibility that can be particularly appealing to individuals or families whose circumstances require adaptability. It's a community that, like many in a dynamic city like Houston, has its own set of advantages and challenges, and understanding these is key to determining if it's the right fit for your needs.
This article will delve into the details of Longhorn Mobile Home Park, providing a candid look at its location and accessibility, the services it offers, its distinct features and highlights, potential promotions, and what locals in Texas should consider if they are thinking about making it their home.
Longhorn Mobile Home Park is located at 11007 Shorthorn Cir, Houston, TX 77041, USA. This address places it within a prominent industrial area of Houston. Specifically, it is situated in the middle of an industrial park, surrounded by warehouses and commercial operations rather than traditional residential neighborhoods. This means that while it is geographically within Houston, the immediate environment is distinctly industrial.
For Texans, accessibility to and from the park generally relies on vehicle transportation due to its industrial setting. It's important to note that the park is located on a downhill slope from the surrounding neighborhood, which can impact accessibility during heavy rain. While direct public transit might be limited right on Shorthorn Circle, the broader Houston area has extensive road networks, including major thoroughfares, allowing residents to commute to other parts of the city for work, shopping, or leisure. However, residents should be prepared for the soundscape of an industrial zone and be aware of the specific challenges that its location presents, particularly concerning flooding and perceived safety.
Based on the provided information and general practices of mobile home parks, Longhorn Mobile Home Park offers fundamental services essential for residents:
- Lot Rental with Utility Access: The core service is the rental of individual lots for mobile homes. These lots typically include hookups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity. Residents are generally responsible for their own utility consumption.
- Individual Driveways: Each lot comes with its own designated driveway, capable of fitting two cars, providing convenient on-site parking for residents.
- Designated Guest Parking: The park provides a designated area for guest parking during the day. Overnight guest parking requires an overnight pass, indicating a system to manage visitor vehicles.
- Additional Parking Options: For residents with more than two vehicles, additional parking spaces can be purchased on a month-to-month basis, offering flexibility for multi-vehicle households.
- Month-to-Month Contracts: All residency contracts are on a month-to-month basis, providing residents with flexibility and no long-term commitment.
- On-Site Management Availability: While the park may seem understaffed, the manager reportedly lives on the property and can be reached over the phone, offering a point of contact for resident concerns.
Longhorn Mobile Home Park possesses several distinct features and highlights, which differentiate it from other residential options:
- Affordable and Well-Kept (for its type): Compared to other mobile home parks, it is described as "well kept," suggesting a level of maintenance that is appreciated by residents. The month-to-month contract also implies affordability and flexibility.
- Individual Parking per Lot: The provision of a private driveway fitting two cars per lot is a significant convenience, especially in areas where street parking might be restricted or limited.
- Flexible Month-to-Month Leases: The availability of month-to-month contracts provides a high degree of flexibility for residents, suitable for those with fluctuating work assignments or uncertain long-term plans.
- On-Site Recreational Amenities: The presence of a basketball court and a field area towards the back of the park offers residents recreational opportunities without needing to leave the property.
- Decent Sized Yards: Despite lots being "pretty close together," many come with a "decent sized yard," providing some personal outdoor space for residents.
- Responsive Management (by phone): While perceived as understaffed, the manager's on-site residency and availability by phone suggest a consistent point of contact for urgent issues.
It is important for prospective residents to balance these highlights with a realistic understanding of the park's specific environment, including its industrial surroundings.
Specific, explicit promotional offers for Longhorn Mobile Home Park are not provided in the customer reviews. However, the nature of mobile home parks, especially those offering month-to-month leases, often implies an underlying value proposition focused on affordability and flexibility rather than temporary discounts. Potential "offers" would typically relate to their pricing structure and parking policies:
- Competitive Monthly Lot Rent: The primary "offer" for many mobile home parks is the competitive nature of their monthly lot rent compared to other housing options in Houston. The month-to-month contract inherently offers flexibility without a long-term commitment often associated with discounted rates.
- Flexible Parking for Additional Vehicles: The ability to purchase additional parking on a month-to-month basis is a form of flexible offering for residents with more than two vehicles, catering to a common need without requiring a long-term parking commitment.
For Texans interested in Longhorn Mobile Home Park, the best approach for understanding current lot rent, parking fees (including the annual charge mentioned in one review), and any specific rental availability for mobile homes (if the park offers them directly) is to contact the park management directly. Inquiry about specific terms for "overnight pass" for guests and charges for additional parking spaces would also be advisable before committing.

For Texans in Houston seeking an affordable and flexible housing solution, Longhorn Mobile Home Park offers a distinctive option that caters to specific needs. Its month-to-month lease contracts provide an unparalleled level of flexibility, which is highly valuable for those with dynamic employment situations or who prefer not to commit to long-term leases typical of apartments. The inclusion of private driveways fitting two cars per lot, along with additional purchasable parking, addresses a common urban challenge of vehicle accommodation.

Customer Reviews
The park is located on a downhill slope from neighborhood so anytime it rains the only entrance and exit to the park floods. When there is heavy rain the entire park floods. Each lot comes with its own driveway that fit 2 cars. There is no street parking allowed but they do have a designated guest parking area. Guest are allowed to park during the day but require an overnight pass after 10pm. Additional parking can be bought on a month to month basis if you have more than 2 vehicles. It’s month to month because the contract to live here is month to month as well. This is in the middle of an industrial park and not the “best” area so car break-ins have happened. They seem understaffed but the manager lives on the property and can always be reached over the phone. The lots are pretty close together so you can always hear your neighbor but most lots do come with a decent sized yard. Compared to other trailer parks it’s well kept. They have a basketball court and field area towards the back. As mentioned it’s in the middle of an industrial park so it’s surrounded by wear-houses and you are able to hear the workers at times. The streets have similar names so the mail boxes are always a mess. There is A LOT of stray cats.
It floods, my car got flooded, the ditch has rocks and tall grass which prevents water from running so it just sits and accumulates. The manager is rude and they charge you for parking per year in the lot you are already paying monthly rent. Paid for a parking space for a year only for manager to give it away after 2 months! No refund. It's impossible to contact the owner with any concerns regarding the manager's way of running things. Robberies and break ins take place often, they want to charge more for security when they should be driving around making the place secure. This place is going downhill fast, noisy neighbors! Don't get a night job or you will never sleep.
The people make this place the best. Wonderful families with warm hearts and giving spirits.
Not helpful folks at all, barely could understand English and answer questions I had
Really. !!
