Location and Accessibility

Midway Park boasts a prime location right on the southeast shore of Waco Lake, making it incredibly accessible for residents across Texas. Situated within the city limits of Waco, this campground offers the best of both worlds: a natural, tranquil environment coupled with the convenience of being just minutes away from urban amenities and attractions. This means you can enjoy a full day of lakeside relaxation and still be close enough to grab supplies or explore local Waco hotspots like Magnolia Market or the Dr. Pepper Museum. The campground is easily reachable via major highways, with direct access from Highway 6. For those traveling from I-35, simply take exit 330B for Hwy 6 North toward Meridian, continue for about 5 miles, and then take the Midway Park exit just before crossing the lake. Drive under the bridge, and the park will be a quarter-mile down the eastbound service road. While its proximity to the highway might mean some ambient road noise in certain areas, many visitors find it a minor trade-off for the park's overall tranquility and convenience.

We were there 2 nights in pull-thru site #29. The site was long enough for our 35' Motorhome and toad. It also had a pavilion with picnic table and a grill. It's near the highway so we could hear the highway at night. The site is located between 2 trees that has low hanging large limbs. I was very nervous about spending the night there as the limb was right above our bedroom area and there were storms forecasted to come through the area with winds. Most of the other pull-thru sites there that did not have trees hanging overhead were occupied so we had to remain there. Thankfully nothing bad happened that night and the next day I asked to be moved to another site and they moved us to site #28 which eased my concerns. The campground has good access to Hwy 6. It does have a boat ramp. Be aware that they close the gates at 10 pm. You can leave after 10pm but you can't re-enter the campground until the gate reopens at 6am. It was a nice campground and convenient to Waco but they really need to trim those low hanging limbs above those 2 sites.

We stayed here as part of our roadtrip through Texas and it was great. Our site, 33, was pull through which was perfect. We had all hookups and a covered picnic area. This park is conveniently located in an area that has so many sites to see as well as easy access to Austin and Dallas.

Restrooms didn’t have toilet paper. The security guy driving around could have filled bathrooms with toilet paper instead of doing nothing except driving around. No swimming at edge of water. They only provide toilet paper once a week. Can’t come an go off property after 10pm. They should issue a card system to get in an out of property.
