Dating back to the early 1950s, this classic establishment in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, offers a variety of comfortable and affordable accommodations, ranging from fully-equipped cabins and cottages to traditional campsites. Managed and meticulously cared for by the same family since its founding, the atmosphere here is one of genuine North Country hospitality—friendly, welcoming, and centered around making your outdoor adventure as effortless as possible.
Mountain View Cabins & Campground is more than just a place to sleep; it’s a central basecamp for four seasons of northern New Hampshire recreation. It’s particularly famous among the local community for providing direct access to the region's vast network of ATV and snowmobile trails, making it a dream destination for powersport enthusiasts. The lodging options are designed with the vacationer in mind, providing the necessary amenities of home—like full kitchens and comfortable living spaces—within a rustic and serene setting. Whether you’re planning a fishing trip to the famed Connecticut Lakes, a long weekend of trail riding, or simply a peaceful retreat to the wilderness, Mountain View Cabins & Campground provides a clean, inviting, and cost-effective home base for your Pittsburg adventure. Location and Accessibility
Mountain View Cabins & Campground is conveniently located at 2787 N Main St, Pittsburg, NH 03592, USA. Pittsburg is the northernmost town in New Hampshire, sitting squarely in the heart of the Connecticut Lakes region, offering unparalleled access to stunning lakes, rivers, and thousands of acres of protected forest. The camp's location on North Main Street (Route 3) provides excellent road accessibility, making it an easy drive from southern and central New Hampshire communities.
A key advantage for local New Hampshire outdoor enthusiasts is the property’s exceptional connectivity to the regional trail system. The main cluster of cabins and the campground are positioned to offer direct trail access for both snowmobiles and Off-Highway Recreational Vehicles (OHRVs)/ATVs. This means guests can literally step out of their door and onto the trail, eliminating the need to trailer their machines daily. For those coming to fish, the location provides close proximity to the Connecticut Lakes (First, Second, Third, and Fourth) and Lake Francis, which are famous for fly fishing and boating. Furthermore, the camp is conveniently situated right across from Young's General Store, a local landmark, and within walking distance of other dining options, ensuring that while you are deep in the wilderness, essential amenities are just a stone's throw away.

The ability to park a truck and trailer and then ride directly from the cabin to the trails is a priceless convenience that defines a successful North Woods vacation.
Finally, the friendly, small-town welcome and the reliable, consistent service from the family operation—run by people like Judy who understand the North Country lifestyle—makes this resort feel like an extension of the local community. I dont often make a habit of leaving reviews on google but this was warranted. Stayed here in mid august on a short northern vacation not knowing what to expect or how the place operated. Got there just prior to check in to find the room was ready for us to slip right in and set up for our 3 night stay. The lady who was usually onsite to accept out check in had something going on at the moment and left us with instructions and was made so simple. Room was clean and inviting. We didnt get to check in officially until the next day when i finally was able to catch up with Judy on site and she was incredibly nice. I really didnt have anything i felt wasn't up to par at any point and the price for the cabin was a bargin for the space available. fully loaded kitchen where we could cook and clean and relax in the living room area when it was night time. cute space with a porch light and right across from Youngs. Such a great experience and will be happy to return for another visit in the future.

Aug 24, 2025 · Julie O'ConnellReally enjoyed our stay here. Everything was a 10/10. The staff were very welcoming. The cabins are super cozy. Downtown Golden is only about a 15-20 min drive. Make sure to check out the viewpoint. They have a nice little hammock to chill in while you’re looking at the mountains. Nice to go for a walk in the morning and just soak in the fresh air. The dogs on the property were a nice surprise. Highly recommended and will definitely stay here again.
