Mt Vernon Renfro Valley Rv Park About
For RV enthusiasts and travelers journeying through Kentucky, finding a convenient, quiet, and well-maintained stop is often a top priority. Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park, located in the heart of Renfro Valley, offers just such a place. While it may not boast an extensive list of resort-style amenities, its core appeal lies in its simplicity, peaceful atmosphere, and strategic proximity to the famous Renfro Valley concert venues.
This RV park caters to those who value a clean and quiet space to park their motorcoach or travel trailer, with spacious and level sites providing essential hookups. It's an ideal choice for an overnight stay or a basecamp for exploring the local attractions without the added bustle of a larger, more amenity-rich campground. Guests often appreciate the tranquility and the straightforward nature of the park, making it a reliable choice for a restful stop.
This article will provide a detailed look at Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park, covering its location, the services it offers, its key features, and why it remains a suitable and practical option for Kentucky locals and travelers exploring the region.
Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park is conveniently located at 2385 Richmond St, Mt Vernon, KY 40456, USA. This address places it directly within the iconic Renfro Valley Entertainment Center grounds, a significant draw for many visitors to the area. The park’s location on Richmond Street (also known as U.S. Highway 25) offers excellent accessibility for RVs of all sizes.
Its immediate proximity to the Renfro Valley concert venues is a primary advantage, allowing guests to walk to shows and events without the need for additional transportation. This makes it a perfect stop for those attending performances or exploring the rich musical heritage of the area. Furthermore, Mt Vernon is located just off Interstate 75 (Exit 62), a major north-south interstate highway in Kentucky. This direct access makes the RV park an exceptionally convenient stop for travelers passing through the state, ensuring easy entry and exit for even large "36’ class A motorcoach" vehicles.
Beyond the entertainment center, the location also offers access to the natural beauty of Kentucky. The park has a "cute little creek running alongside" and a "big open field," providing pleasant outdoor spaces. While Mt. Vernon itself is a smaller town, its strategic location near a major interstate and a renowned entertainment venue makes it a practical and appealing base for exploring the region.
Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park focuses on providing essential services that ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for RVers. While it emphasizes simplicity over an extensive amenity list, the core offerings are designed for functionality and guest satisfaction:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: The park offers sites with 30 and 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer hookups. This ensures that RVs have all necessary utilities for a self-contained stay.
- Pull-Thru and Back-In Sites: Both pull-thru and back-in sites are available, accommodating various RV lengths. Some pull-thru sites can fit vehicles up to 100-110 feet long, making it suitable for very large rigs.
- Free WiFi: Wireless internet access is provided, allowing guests to stay connected during their visit.
- Sparkling Clean Bath House/Restrooms: The park features restrooms and showers that are generally maintained to be clean, providing essential facilities for campers without their own full bath.
- Sanitary Dumping Station: For added convenience, a dumping station is available on-site.
- Pet-Friendly: The park is pet-friendly, allowing guests to travel with their furry companions, although specific leash rules and pet policies should be confirmed upon booking.
- Winterization (Seasonal): It is important to note that 30-amp sites are winterized (no water) from November 1st through April 1st, and the bathhouse may be closed during this time. Guests should plan accordingly for off-season stays.
- Proximity to Live Music and Entertainment: While not a direct service of the RV park itself, its location on the same property as Renfro Valley's live music venues is a major benefit, allowing guests to easily access shows and events.
These services provide a solid foundation for a pleasant RV experience, particularly for those prioritizing essential hookups and a quiet environment.
Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park offers several key features and highlights that contribute to its appeal for RV travelers in Kentucky:
- Prime Location for Entertainment Access: Its most significant highlight is its direct adjacency to the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center. Guests can easily walk to concert venues, shows, and local shops within the valley, making it incredibly convenient for event attendees.
- Quiet and Clean Environment: Despite its proximity to a entertainment hub, many guests consistently describe the park as "very quiet and clean." This peaceful atmosphere is highly valued by those seeking a restful night's sleep or a calm retreat.
- Spacious and Level Sites: The RV sites are noted for being "large and the park is very quiet and clean." They are typically gravel and "quite level," which makes for easy setup for motorcoaches and travel trailers alike.
- Accommodates Large Rigs: The availability of pull-thru sites up to 100-110 feet in length ensures that even the largest Class A motorhomes and fifth-wheel trailers can be comfortably accommodated, a crucial feature for many modern RVers.
- Natural Surroundings: The presence of a "cute little creek running alongside the park" and a "big open field" provides pleasant natural elements and opportunities for walking, especially for those traveling with pets.
- Friendly and Helpful Staff: Even in challenging situations (like water issues due to flooding), the staff, including individuals like Jamie, are recognized for being "very nice" and making stays "great," indicating a commitment to guest satisfaction and problem-solving.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: The park welcomes pets, allowing travelers to bring their furry companions, enhancing the travel experience for many.
- Shaded Creek-Side Sites: Some sites are located alongside the creek and offer shade, which can be a desirable feature during warmer Kentucky months.
While Mt Vernon Renfro Valley RV Park might not consistently advertise widespread "promotions" in the same way a retail business would, RV parks often have certain offers or rate structures that can benefit guests. Ohio residents and travelers considering a stay should inquire about the following:
- Seasonal Rates: RV parks commonly offer varying rates based on the season. Off-peak seasons (e.g., late fall, winter, early spring) may have lower rates than peak summer months or during major events at Renfro Valley. It's always worth asking about current seasonal pricing.
- Weekly or Monthly Discounts: For those planning an extended stay, weekly or monthly rates are typically more cost-effective than booking multiple consecutive nights at the daily rate. If you plan to use the park as a base for exploring the area for more than a few days, inquire about these extended stay options.
- Concert/Event Packages: Given its direct proximity to the Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, the RV park might occasionally offer package deals that combine an RV site with tickets to a concert or show. This would be particularly appealing for those visiting specifically for the entertainment.
- Loyalty Programs/Return Visitor Discounts: Some RV parks offer incentives for repeat customers or members of certain RV clubs (like Good Sam or Passport America, though specific affiliations should be confirmed). If you plan to return, inquire if such programs exist.
- First-Time Visitor Incentives: While less common, sometimes a park might offer a small discount or perk for first-time guests. It never hurts to ask upon booking.

Customer Reviews
I can’t really give a good review of this park. I called a few days ahead of my reservation to confirm utilities would be on. (Reservation listed winterizing until April 1) was told yes. Got all set up and hooked up to discover no water. Recent flooding had damaged something and it didn’t get fixed. They did let us relocate to another spot that had water, but just the idea that I called and they didn’t know the water was still down. Only advantage to staying there is proximity to the concert venues. Other than that, no real good reason to stay there. No other amenities, no picnic tables, fire rings, etc. For the price, just a real let down. I doubt I will be back.
I really like this little park. We were there in September and then again December 28. It is a bit on the pricier side and there really are no amenities but the sites are large and the park is very quiet and clean. There was only one other RV there so there was no noise from other campers. The spaces are gravel and quite level. There’s a cute little creek running alongside the park and a big open field that we walked our dogs in. Nice place- we will be back !
This is the worst over priced RV park I have ever stayed at (and I have been a full time RVer for over 3 years) no picnic tables, no fire ring, the the bathrooms and showers were disgusting with no toilet paper and they advertise on the website that they take good Sam and when we get they say they don’t! Please do yourself a favor and save your money and stay somewhere else! Oh yeah and I really feel the ladies in the office could be a little more nicer after all we do pay their salaries!
Once upon a time this was a nice campground. It was nice to be able to go to a concert and not have to drive afterwards. It is so run down! The bathrooms are dirty and out of date. You have to have a code to get in the bathroom which you get at the liquor store when checking in. The extra $15 dollar fee to secure a sight is a joke. There were 3 campers there on the side we were on and maybe 8 on the other side. The water spigot had no handle and they moved us to another site. No picnic tables, no cable, sketchy wifi. The help at the liquor store were a little loud and a bit inappropriate. They did however get us someone who tried to make it better but you can't improve on a disaster. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. So Sad!!!
The campgrounds is fine The place in general has gone downhill. I could not connect to the Wi-Fi and they couldn't seem to help me. They used to have cable TV now that's gone. Their stores and restaurant seem to have all closed they say they can't get anybody here to open up businesses. We love country music and would like to see this place come back. Maybe they need to put in an amusement park or something to attract people. I think if they had more people coming here entrepreneurs would finest a good place to open up their business we came to a concert and there was only two other campers here that's ridiculous. I surely hope things get better
