Customer Reviews
We have been staying here for the past 7 years. Usually a 5 star experience but our site this trip has foot tall grass, and is located next to the bathhouse which would be fine but the staff does not enforce the rules so it’s constant people walking threw the site instead of using the sidewalk on the other side. After paying almost $600 for a dirt site for less than a week this truly feels like a total rip off. Take my $600 and make some signs explaining where to walk so other campers don’t have to deal with the rudeness of people walking right by your picnic table while eating breakfast or parking their car in front of your camper to use the bathhouse.
We stayed here for just one night (sadly). But would love to come back. Here is what we loved: - location of course- from the campground you could bike or walk to the beach and restaurants and shops. However, it’s tucked away far enough that it feels like you are in the woods and away from noise and buzz. - very wooded and natural! Tall trees for shade, hills and very beautiful! - sites were nice size and clean and equipped with picnic tables and fire pits. - we liked the playground, jump pad and there is an awesome splash pad! - the amenities are clean and spacious Overall we were sad we couldn’t stay longer and would come back here.
They need to advertise that the back in sites without the patio is NOT disability friendly. The sites are far from being even and with exposed tree roots everywhere and it’s not grass, it’s mud. The site is also a very tight squeeze, so pretty difficult to back into if you’re rig is 30 ft or longer. After my disabled husband slipped on a tree root and fell, I went to the office and they upgraded us to a better site, pull through with a concrete pad. The place is in desperate need of an overhaul. The bathrooms are old, the showers are full of mold, and smell very musty. It my husband’s and I anniversary and we were extremely disappointed. Not at all what I expected from a KOA Resort. I would only give one star but the reason for the second is that the staff was very friendly.
This was our first ever KOA experience. We arrived late at night, after a long drive, and Gina at the gate made our lives so much easier. I forgot a few things and she insisted on providing them for us because letting us go without "is not how they do it at KOA". She was truly a godsend and such a pleasant person to have checking us in late at night. The room was clean, easy to access, and comfortable - especially for the price! I know our kids loved the amenities too!
A large KOA catering to the Myrtle Beach scene offers a unique experience. All the camp sites are nestled under a canopy of majestic old live oaks and pines, providing a refreshing cool breeze. While my site was dirt and fairly level, it might be a bit messy after a rain shower. But hey, this is the beach after all! It was an ideal spot for us to explore the area before heading further north. Highly recommended!
