Customer Reviews
Had a great 2 night stay here. Camping spot we used had an amazing view of the lake. Only giving 4 stars bc all laundry facilities were out of order as well as the bigger playground closed for construction. Great family friendly campgrounds with amazing views.
This campground is great. Been coming here since I was eight and I’m 30 now with my own family. It’s nice and isolated but still close enough to the bougie Publix incase you forget something.
I really love this campground. The hosts are amazing!! The georgia power company needs to prioritize fixing the washers and dryers or bringing in new ones. They were trying to make it free to use them, but instead, now they just don't work. The closest laundromat is in an extremely shady area and for the price of gas to get there and cost to wash and dry, I could have stayed another night. I CANNOT stress enough how it just doesn't seem priority at all. It is a huge set back, especially for people who like to visit quite often. So VERY inconvenient.
My family and I live really close by to Old Salem so we visit frequently for nice weekend getaways. This past trip we took there started out to be our worst experience yet. We stayed in site 61 and my parents stayed on site 60. A different family came in on Friday and took sites 57, 59, 63, 62 and a couple in a different area. On Friday night, that same family stayed up past 2am running up and down the street, hollering, smoking pot, drinking and all out partying even though quiet hours start at 10pm. They even had a work spot light on a stand pointed straight into my parents tent keeping them up over half the night. Then the next morning one of the women tried to have words with my wife and get an attitude with her. After walking up to the gate and speaking with the couple who work there we were told that we could move to a different site and they allowed us to leave the next day well after check out time because we lost time having to pack and unpack to move. We were then told that since we had to deal with such people while trying to relax we would be given a free weekend stay. Once the workers were made aware of the situation, they had local PD often patrolling the area and they themselves rode by those sites to make sure those people weren’t disturbing anyone else during their stay. This campground is by far our favorite place to visit for an easy getaway and the two couples that work there couldn’t be nicer and more helpful. Even though we had a rough night during one trip, we will continue to go there and look forward to many more great weekend camping trips at Old Salem.
Manager is worse person I've ever met,he just drove around and every time he ride by had something to say, paid for memorial day weekend and left after one day because I'm 60 years old and he talked to you like you were a kid, will never stay again
