This central Tennessee location makes it highly accessible for residents across the state, minimizing travel time and maximizing your precious outdoor leisure. Manchester itself is a vibrant community, offering essential services and local charm, while the park's immediate surroundings transport you to a world of natural and historical wonder.
The park's location is a significant advantage for those looking to blend historical exploration with outdoor adventure. It's easily reachable via major roadways, making the drive straightforward whether you're coming from Nashville, Chattanooga, or other parts of Tennessee. Its proximity to Manchester means that while you're immersed in nature, you're never too far from necessary supplies or local attractions. For example, as some visitors have noted, it's a convenient base camp for attending local events like the Craft Show in Bell Buckle, allowing you to combine different aspects of Tennessee culture and recreation. As a state park campground, Old Stone Fort State Park Campground typically operates under the pricing structures set by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, rather than offering frequent, publicly advertised promotions in the same way a private business might. However, for us Tennessee locals looking to maximize our value and experience, it's worth considering how best to approach potential savings or special benefits:
Tennessee State Parks Loyalty Programs: While not a direct "promotion," frequently checking the official Tennessee State Parks website (tnstateparks.com) can provide information on any loyalty programs or seasonal passes that might offer benefits for repeat visitors or reduced rates for extended stays. These programs are designed to encourage engagement with our state's beautiful natural resources.
Senior and Disability Discounts: Tennessee State Parks often provide discounts for seniors (typically 62 and older) and individuals with disabilities. It's always advisable to inquire about these specific rates when making a reservation. These are not promotional in the traditional sense but rather ongoing discounts for qualifying individuals.
Off-Peak Season Rates: Camping rates can sometimes vary depending on the season. Visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall outside of major holidays) or even in the winter can sometimes lead to lower rates or fewer crowds, providing a more peaceful experience at a potentially lower cost. While not an advertised "special offer," it’s a practical way to save.
Group Rates: If you are planning a group camping trip with family or friends, inquire if there are any special rates for booking multiple sites or a larger group area.
Check Official Website for Updates: The most accurate and current information on any specific promotions, events that might include camping packages, or changes in pricing will always be found on the official Old Stone Fort State Park section of the Tennessee State Parks website. It's the primary source for all official announcements.
While Old Stone Fort State Park Campground might not have flash sales, its consistent value, well-maintained facilities, and unique historical and natural attractions make it a worthwhile investment for any Tennessee resident seeking a quality outdoor experience. Always contact the park directly or visit the official Tennessee State Parks website for the most up-to-date information on rates and availability.

Apr 17, 2025 · K WWe really enjoyed this park. They have a variety of trails to choose from. We hiked the Enclosure trail and the waterfalls were beautiful, but beware of some of the path cliffs. The shower/restroom building seemed new and was very clean. The other facility is restrooms only. Dominic the Ranger was very friendly and helpful. The only small downsize was the narrow pavement in the sites as you can see from a couple of the pictures below. There was a mix of campers and tents. We stayed here while we went to the Craft show in Bell Buckle.
Nov 02, 2024 · Karen CowanNice paved camp sites. Newer bath house with plenty of hot water. There is no gate at this campground and my husband and I both feel there are outsiders coming in to use the showers who are not paying guests. Without a gate or camp host this is likely to happen. Other than that...simple, clean and heavily shaded. Don't miss walking the Old Stone Fort trail...it's stunning.
May 14, 2024 · Amber JensenFairly good camping experience. Trails were nice and well marked. Multiple waterfalls that can be heard from the trails before you see them. Campsites were well maintained and cleaned. Fire pits and picnic tables are installed behind the camper parking which was nice. The sites are very tight though, we weren't able to open our canopy, and had to park the truck at an angle to stay off the roadway. All in all a nice place to stay.
Oct 03, 2022 · Cody CoxVery picturesque along the river. The camping area is more designed for RV/trailers with a lot of low-lying areas around the sites being muddy or have standing water. Cell service is spotty depending on your carrier.
