Coinjock, a charming community in Currituck County, is known for its rural beauty and proximity to the famous Outer Banks. While the campground offers a tranquil retreat, it’s not too far removed from essential services and popular destinations. Guests are advised that it is "a ways back to town, so stock up as needed," highlighting its secluded nature, yet the camp store does provide some limited necessities. For those seeking broader retail, dining, and entertainment options, towns further afield will offer more extensive choices.

A significant advantage of this KOA Holiday is its proximity to the Outer Banks, roughly 40 minutes away by car, providing convenient access to its pristine beaches, historic lighthouses, and vibrant coastal towns. Furthermore, the campground offers complimentary boat and van shuttles (seasonal, typically Memorial Day through end of September), which are a game-changer for accessibility. The boat shuttle takes guests on a scenic trip across the water to Timbuk II & Carova Beach, known for North Carolina’s wild mustangs. The van shuttle offers convenient rides to local spots like Coinjock Marina, Morris Farms (a great local market), and the Sanctuary Vineyards winery. These shuttles allow guests to "avoid the traffic and travel" often associated with Outer Banks exploration, making day trips much more relaxed and enjoyable. This blend of secluded waterfront charm with strategic access to regional highlights makes Outer Banks West / Currituck Sound KOA Holiday a uniquely appealing destination for North Carolinians looking to explore the state's eastern gems.

Very quiet (stayed Mon-Thurs), good customer service, clean facilities and great staff-Helpful and knowledgeable. Bathhouse was wonderful, well kept. Laundry functioned well and was clean. Propane fill up went as it should. Did not have a chance to try the water taxi or shuttle. It is a ways back to town, so stock up as needed. (The camp store has some stuff, but limited) Overall happy with our stay.

Awesome place! Located in a small island in a remote location. Off the beaten path. Facility has almost everything you need. A local lady sells firewood cheap for the fire pits so we didn't even have to leave the island. Bought cool artwork from her and hit some local yard sales and made some new friends

We had a great week there. The staff was very friendly. It was clean and neat. Great for kids with a playground and bounce pad. The store was nice with delicious ice cream. We rented a golf cart because my husband has leg problems and can't walk far. It is a good size rv park. The wifi was not good and the rv lots were kind of tight. We didn't go in the busiest season so that didn't matter much. But I would go back and take my Dish Playmate next time.

Clean & relaxing campground. Grounds are kept well. And as for our grandchildren, they love the bouncy the playset and just the fact that they could run around and be a kid. We will be back. Thank you
