Oxford Cove About
For Alabamians considering mobile home living, exploring various community options is a crucial step in finding the right place to call home. Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park, located at 3825 US-78 W, Oxford, AL, is one such community that prospective residents in the Oxford area and Calhoun County might encounter. Mobile home parks offer a distinct housing solution, often providing more affordable living arrangements and a unique community atmosphere compared to traditional housing. Understanding the history and current operational aspects of such a park is vital for making an informed decision.
Mobile home living has been a long-standing and important part of Alabama's housing landscape, offering flexibility and cost-effectiveness for many individuals and families. These communities typically provide individual lots for manufactured homes, and sometimes offer homes for rent directly. The quality of a mobile home park experience often hinges on factors such as management responsiveness, community rules, and the overall maintenance of the park infrastructure. For those interested in Oxford Cove, gaining insight into these elements will be key to determining its suitability.
Customer feedback, while limited and raising significant questions, provides some context for Oxford Cove. One review, seeking information from new ownership, refers to the park previously being known as "Couches." This indicates a change in management or ownership, which often brings changes in policies, pricing, and overall park management style. Questions about pet policies and room availability in specific trailers suggest that rental units might be offered within the park, or residents might be bringing their own homes.
A second review highlights a serious concern regarding potential scams related to mobile homes advertised for sale within or associated with the park. This underscores the importance of exercising extreme caution, verifying all details, and dealing directly with official park management or reputable real estate agents when considering any purchase or rental. For Alabamians looking into Oxford Cove, these historical points and current cautions mean that thorough due diligence and direct communication with current management are absolutely essential before making any commitments.
Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park is situated at 3825 US-78 W, Oxford, AL 36203, USA. This location places the community on a major United States highway, US-78 West, which is a significant artery through Oxford and the wider Calhoun County area. This positioning offers both advantages and considerations for residents and visitors.
The primary advantage of being on US-78 West is excellent accessibility. This major road provides straightforward routes for commuting to various parts of Oxford, Anniston, and other nearby towns. For individuals working in the area or needing convenient access to amenities, the location simplifies travel. Proximity to a major highway often means quick access to gas stations, convenience stores, and potentially larger retail outlets or dining establishments that cater to travelers.
Oxford itself is a growing city in Alabama, offering a range of services, schools, and recreational opportunities. Residents of Oxford Cove would have access to these municipal services and local community resources. The presence of a major highway, however, can also imply potential for road noise, which is a factor some residents might consider when evaluating the overall tranquility of the environment.
When visiting the park, the direct access from US-78 West should make it easy to locate. As with any mobile home park, internal roads and lot accessibility can vary, and prospective residents should assess these during a visit. Overall, the location positions Oxford Cove as a highly accessible option for mobile home living within the Oxford area of Alabama.
Based on the nature of a mobile home park and the context provided by customer inquiries, Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park would primarily offer the following services. It is important to note that specific details may have changed with new ownership, as hinted in one review.
- Mobile Home Lot Rentals: The fundamental service of any mobile home park is to provide individual lots for rent where residents can place their manufactured homes. This involves leasing the land upon which a home sits.
- Potential Mobile Home Rentals/Sales: One review mentions a "trailer on market place for sale" and a past experience with "rented when it was called couches," suggesting that the park may either sell or rent mobile homes directly, or allow current residents to list homes for sale on site. This aspect would require direct clarification with current management.
- Basic Infrastructure: A mobile home park provides essential utility hookups to each lot, including connections for water, sewer, and electricity. The functionality and maintenance of these connections are critical.
- Park Management: As a mobile home park, there is typically management responsible for overseeing the community. The review suggests a transition in ownership ("new owner"), which means policies, responsiveness, and approach to park maintenance would be under new leadership.
- Community Rules and Policies: While not a "service" in the traditional sense, the implementation and enforcement of rules (e.g., regarding pets, noise, property upkeep) are integral to maintaining the living environment and community standards. The previous "Couches" rule of "didn't allow pets" indicates that such policies are in place and potentially subject to change under new ownership.
Given the questions raised in the reviews, direct communication with the current management of Oxford Cove is essential to confirm specific services offered, current policies (especially regarding pets and rentals), and to address any past concerns from previous ownership.
Based on the provided information, particularly the customer reviews that reference past and potential future experiences, several features and points of interest can be noted about Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park:
- Established Mobile Home Community: The mention of the park previously being called "Couches" indicates that Oxford Cove has a history as an established mobile home community, suggesting a certain level of existing infrastructure and resident base.
- Location on US-78 W: Its position on a major highway offers significant visibility and accessibility for residents and visitors, which is a practical feature for daily commutes and access to services.
- Potential for Mobile Home Rentals/Sales: The discussion around renting a trailer and a trailer being listed for sale implies that the park may offer various pathways to residency, either through lot rentals for owned homes or through park-owned rental units. This offers flexibility to prospective residents.
- New Ownership/Management: The explicit query about a "new owner" is a critical feature. A change in ownership can lead to significant improvements or alterations in park policies, maintenance, and overall living experience. For new residents, this could represent a fresh start.
- Accommodates Families (Implied): The specific question about "enough room for me, my wife, and 2 boys and dog" suggests that the park caters to families and larger households, making it a potential option for family-oriented residents.
- Historical Pet Policy (under previous ownership): The mention that "Couches didn't allow pets" highlights that pet policies are a consideration and potentially a key feature that may have changed under new management. This is important for pet owners.
It's vital for anyone considering Oxford Cove to verify these features directly with the current management to get the most accurate and up-to-date information, especially concerning changes brought about by new ownership.
The provided customer reviews and general information do not include any details about specific promotions or special offers for Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park. Mobile home parks typically do not run frequent, publicly advertised promotional campaigns in the same way retail businesses might. Their pricing is generally based on standard monthly lot rental rates, which can vary based on the specific lot size, location, and services included.
However, it is always recommended for prospective residents to directly inquire with the management of Oxford Cove about any current pricing structures or potential incentives. As a park under "new owner" (as referenced in a review), there's a possibility that new management might introduce offers to attract new residents or fill vacancies. Potential considerations might include:
- Standard Lot Rent Rates: The most important "offer" is the baseline monthly cost for renting a mobile home lot. This is what potential residents need to clarify first.
- Lease Terms: Inquiring about the availability of different lease terms (e.g., month-to-month, 6-month, annual) and if any specific terms come with a reduced monthly rate.
- Move-in Specials: Occasionally, new management might offer incentives like a reduced security deposit, a discount on the first month's rent, or waived application fees, though this is not confirmed for Oxford Cove.
- Inclusion of Utilities: Clarifying which utilities (e.g., trash, water, sewer) are included in the lot rent versus which are additional resident responsibilities can impact the overall cost of living and serve as an indirect "offer" if more are included.
Due to the questions raised in the reviews regarding past experiences and potential scams, it is particularly crucial for individuals to exercise extreme caution and diligence when dealing with any financial transactions or offers related to mobile homes for sale or rent. Always ensure you are dealing directly with official park management or their verified representatives, and obtain all terms and conditions in writing. Contacting Oxford Cove directly via the provided phone number is the best way to get accurate and reliable information.

Insisting on direct communication with management and verifying all information in person before making any commitments is crucial for a secure and transparent process.
For some locals in Alabama, particularly those in the Oxford area, Oxford Cove Mobile Home Park may be a consideration when exploring mobile home living options due to its location and the potential for a fresh start under new ownership. Mobile home parks often serve as a vital source of more affordable housing, which is a significant factor for many individuals and families seeking to establish roots in a community.
The park's location on US-78 West in Oxford offers inherent accessibility to city amenities, employment centers, and various services within Calhoun County. This convenience can be a major draw for residents looking to minimize commute times and easily access daily necessities. For those seeking a mobile home living experience, the existing infrastructure of an established park like Oxford Cove (formerly "Couches") means that basic utility hookups and designated lots are likely in place.
The transition to "new owner" status, as mentioned in a review, presents a potential opportunity for positive change and improvement within the community. New management often brings renewed focus on park maintenance, resident relations, and policy updates (such as a potential change in pet policy). For residents who may have known the park under its previous management, this change could signal a move towards addressing past issues and fostering a more desirable living environment.
However, it is critically important for any local considering Oxford Cove to exercise extreme diligence. Directly contacting the current management is essential to clarify all policies, especially regarding pets and any available rentals. Most importantly, a personal visit is highly advisable to assess the current condition of the park, including its infrastructure and general atmosphere. Given the serious concerns raised in one review regarding potential scamming activities, prospective residents must be exceptionally cautious with all financial transactions and always ensure they are dealing with verified park representatives. For Alabamians prioritizing affordability and an accessible location, Oxford Cove exists as an option, but one that requires comprehensive, in-person verification and direct communication to ensure a secure and suitable living arrangement.

Sorry for the 1 star ,but wanted to know what the prices are and will change my rating after I talk to you. Me and my family rented when it was called couches and wanted to know if new owner does that include the lady that lived in the trailer near the highway or is she still there . I remember couches didn't allow pets and wanted to know if that has changed since new owner. If you reply and answer my questions I will try to call when yall are open. Just don't want the same trailer we had last time one regular bedroom and then 1 half bedroom just wasn't enough room for me,my wife ,and 2 boys and dog. Again please answer and I will change rating just doing a low one in hope to catch your eye and get some answers before Friday. Thank you
Found one of the trailers on market place for sale for 4000 and went and looked at it and it was really sketchy. The lady supposedly selling this trailer said the man that owned it lived in Florida and to send him the 4k via Walmart pay. She took the listing down and I scrolled some more on marketplace and found the same trailer she was posting multiple times sold by different people. So I would LOVE to live in this park but it seems like yall got some scamming going on from your tenants that live in the park.
I don't currently live here(possibly in the future) but, its been my experience that most people who have "issues" with other tenants or management, USUALLY bring it on themselves and are hard to please individuals. Just about any place you live, is what YOU make of it! You can please SOME of the people all the time and, ALL the people some of the time BUT, you'll NEVER please ALL the people ALL THE TIME!
I currently reside there and I have came to believe that others who have shared negative reviews are ones who are not easily pleased and are not content with what they have. I'm 55. For me, this is a good place with the solitude I need. No drugs or drama here, which is OK with me! What very few people (my immediate neighbors) I talk to seem to be "alright folks). I've been here almost 3 months and have to have ANYONE knock on my door asking for anything. In fact, I've been given a vacuum, set of silverware (new), and a tv from people around me without them even mentioning compensation or asking for anything! As far as management is concerned, I have no issues with them and I keep in contact with them. The maintenance man is a real, down to earth kinda guy who has been here a couple times, kept coming in fact, till the issue was resolved. I believe in my air conditioner and have yet to occur an overage. Management will, and has, helped me and I'm sure they would do the same for ANYONE else who would just talk to them! Roads are going to be fixed in August, when new ownership begins. Over time, this place has been "cleaned up" of drugs and excessive traffic with the installation of surveillance throughout the park. My hat is off to the monumental task and efforts put forth by the present park manager.
I have lived here for almost 2 years and am very grateful for management and neighbors...everyone is very friendly and it has been great for my children...All the kids in the neighborhood get along and we all look out for one another including management....I don't have anything negative to say it has done nothing but improve since I moved in....
