Camping remains a beloved pastime for many in Virginia, providing an opportunity to disconnect from daily routines and reconnect with nature. Whether it's for a weekend escape or an extended period, choosing the right campground is essential for a positive experience. Paradise Lake and Campground aims to cater to various needs, with features that could appeal to families, individuals, and those traveling for work who require a stable base. This overview will delve into what visitors can expect from Paradise Lake and Campground, helping Virginia locals make an informed decision for their next outdoor excursion.

Paradise Lake and Campground is situated at 593 Keeling Dr, Keeling, VA 24566, USA. This location places it within the rural landscape of Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Keeling is a small community, offering a quieter, more secluded atmosphere compared to larger towns or cities. The campground's address suggests that it is set away from major urban centers, providing a true escape into nature.

Accessibility to Paradise Lake and Campground appears to be relatively straightforward for those traveling by vehicle. The review mentions that the location is "not far off the highway," indicating good road access. While specifics on nearby highways aren't provided, being close to major routes would facilitate travel from various parts of Virginia. For instance, from larger population centers like Danville, the drive would likely be manageable, offering a convenient short trip for a weekend getaway. Similarly, for residents coming from further afield in Virginia, such as Lynchburg or Roanoke, the campground's proximity to a highway would ensure a more direct journey.

The rural setting means that local amenities like large grocery stores or extensive dining options might require a short drive into a nearby town. However, for campers who prefer a tranquil environment and are prepared for self-sufficiency or short trips for supplies, the location could be ideal. Its situation near a lake also suggests potential for water-based recreational activities, enhancing its appeal for local users seeking a natural setting. The ease of highway access makes it a practical choice for Virginians looking for a peaceful retreat without venturing too far off the beaten path.

Paradise Lake and Campground offers a range of services designed to accommodate various camping preferences, from short stays to longer-term arrangements. Based on available feedback, here are the services campers can expect:

  • Lake Access: A significant feature, offering direct access to a lake for potential water-based activities.
  • Swimming Pool Access: A pool is available on-site, providing a recreational option for campers, especially appealing for families with children.
  • Mail Delivery: A convenient service, particularly for long-term residents, allowing them to receive mail directly at the campground.

It is always recommended that prospective campers contact the campground directly to confirm the availability and specifics of services for their intended stay.

Paradise Lake and Campground primarily offers its standard rates for camping sites, and there isn't publicly available information indicating specific, ongoing "promotions" or "special offers" in the traditional sense, such as seasonal discounts or package deals. The pricing structure appears to be consistent, with an emphasis on providing access to their facilities for both short-term and long-term stays.

However, for any potential "special offers" that might arise, or to inquire about the most current pricing for extended stays, larger groups, or specific types of sites (e.g., full hookup vs. electric only), prospective campers should directly contact the campground management. It's not uncommon for campgrounds, especially those accommodating long-term guests, to have varying rates based on the length of stay or the amenities included with a particular site. While reviews mention the perceived cost for value, direct communication is the best way to understand the current rate structure and if any unique arrangements can be made based on your specific needs. I travel for work and was really excited for this location with access to a lake and a pool for my kids. Unfortunately, those are some of the only things going for this place. They asked us the year and type of RV we had, we figured it may be to insure that the campground looks nice. When we pulled up that was far from the truth. There were many very run down campers with loads of junk sitting outside of them, it made it look trashy, that and the actual trash everywhere. I noticed they don't check spots after people leave either as someone left their poop hose attached and a water hose laying out, along with some garbage, which all got left for the next people that came to that spot. We are in a spot at the back of the campground where they keep long term customers, which is strange being that the water pressure and cell coverage are worse back there, sometimes barley getting a trickle of water but on average the water is at 20-25psi. We pay the same price as everyone else though, which in my opinion is way too much. They are working on another well back there, which is good, but it wont be done before we leave. There are a few more perks , the people are nice and you can have mail delivered here. I am just really unimpressed overall with the cost for what we get in this spot and how the area is kept. I wouldn't recommend for long term especially, which is unfortunate as this could be a really amazing place.

Location was good . Not far off the highway . Bathrooms were in Desperate need of a cleaning ! Site had beautiful views but were very small on a hillside. We have a 16QBX. Only stayed 1night but couldn’t find the dump station and no one was in office till 10am . The place looked like they were not ready for campers . I’m sure it’s cleaned up by summer (at least I would hope so )

Beautiful campground. Lots of trees. It could be a tight squeeze for a larger camper (we have 30'). We were here on the off season, we look forward to coming again in warmer weather. We stayed here so we could go to the new casino. It's only a 20+ minute drive. Bathhouse was warm & had hot water.

My fiancé was working working in the area and we needed a place to set up our camper for a few months, we got denied by multiple places and all the other places near by were just terrible looking! We found this place and they immediately understood our situation and found an available spot for us to stay, their rates were very reasonable. They have all the necessities as well (Laundry room, showers/bathrooms, pool+ lake, convience store+ game room/arcade where they sell propane, ice, snacks, drinks, some health supplies, fishing supplies, ice cream and movies!) there are walking trails through out the whole campground with beautiful scenery year round!! It is family ran and they all have the southern hospitality that comforts you! It is a clean park and bathrooms are cleaned daily! I would definitely recommend and I hope to be back one day!

This is a beautiful campground, there are well placed sites with amazing views of the lake, it's so peaceful, during the week it's very quiet, rarely more than a person or two at the pool. Weekends are a little busier, but all the children we interacted with were so nice, considerate of the smaller children, really just a pleasure to see families having fun, and no drama at all. Everyone we encountered was pleasant. The pool was nice, clean, chilly in the mornings and nice for a dunk in the hot weather. My granddaughter loved it! WiFi worked fine at our site, totally happy with that. We tent camp, I have smaller 6 man tents and large 12 man tents, any would easily fit the drive up sites. There is gravel so bring a heavy duty tarp to put under your tent, maybe even a rug for inside if you are there a few days. Some sites have those pokey chestnuts. Each site has a fire ring, a picnic table and you can back right up so no lugging the heavy stuff around. The staff was helpful and friendly, the office has a little store with the basics, the store grill has hotdogs and ice cream and a couple other things. They normally sell wood but we're out while we were there, but there was still a little pile left at our site which covered our one night. They also have bags of ice, super handy. We will be back for sure, we had a great time. In fact I'll be back by myself for a peaceful ME night and leave all the twerps at home. 😁 Normally I'm a fan of rustic camping, but this place is just so pretty. Love the goose brigade too!
